@@@@ d'invention.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
Sur le dessin annexé ;
Fig. 1 représente une vue perspective de la moitié gauche du panneau arrière de la cuisinière et du mécanisme, le couvercle étant l'état de repos;

@@@@ invention. Company known as: Fonderies Nestor Martin, Société Anonyme. Grease trap cover for cookers.
Cookers presently in use are frequently provided with a panel forming a grease trap when it occupies a substantially vertical position and which, when folded down, forms a cover for the top. The vertical position of the grease trap can, in certain cases, be awkward, for example if we want to use a light source directly illuminating the pans, and we can therefore think of the eclipse of the protective cover. fat.
The present invention relates to a grease-proof cover which can not only occupy the two aforementioned positions, but which can also be retracted behind the cooker by prolonging the lifting movement of the cover.
The invention consists in lowering the grease trap cover occupying the raised position, in a vertical plane, while ensuring the balancing of the object during its movement, that is to say that there will be at each moment appreciably balance between

the weight of the object and the resistance force, so that the cover can be returned to its initial position with minimal force provided by the person using the device. This resistant force can result either from the compression of a fluid, or from the increase in the lever arm of a counterweight, or more advantageously from the tension of a spring integrated in a deformable system.
The balancing being according to the invention substantially achieved for all the positions that the cover may occupy, it will suffice to immobilize the latter in a determined position with a small additional force, which may result for example from the thrust of a compressing ball. a spring, in a notch of the cover.
By way of nonlimiting example, the mechanism below provides a system for balancing the cover according to the invention:
The rear edge of the cover, which, in its rest position covers the top of the cooker, is provided at its two ends with a reinforcement or hinge, carrying a journal. Each of the two pins is supported and can rotate freely in a support, @ which can. '' Slide on a vertical upright.
Each support is held in its raised position by a deformable system, as long as the weight of the cover is distributed between support points at the front and at the rear of the cooker; when the weight of the cover acts only at the rear, the supports descend along the vertical uprights and deform the articulated systems.
The back of the cover has two notches, so that the lifted object abuts against the supports, indicating the end of the rotation and the start of the vertical translation. The two articulated systems each have the shape of a V, the free end of one of the branches being articulated on the support, the free end of the other branch being articulated on a fixed point of the rear panel. of the stove, and the two branches being

articulated at the top of the V. At this point a spring unites these two branches and works on the extension.
In addition, a second spring working on the extension brings together a point of the branch fixed to the panel and a new fixed point of the panel, the latter being placed above the point of articulation of the branch so as to tend to lift that -this. The resultant of the forces of the two springs is substantially constant and equal to the weight of the cover.
The downward movement of the latter is however stopped by a stop fixed on the rear panel of the cooker.
On the attached drawing;
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the left half of the rear panel of the cooker and of the mechanism, the cover being the rest state;
Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the right half of the rear panel after eclipse of the cover.
The cover 1 has a front rim 2 and a rear rim 3 forming an angle of 90 with the main face; the rim 3 is provided at each end with a notch 4, and is integral with a hinge 5 provided with a journal 6, The latter bears, and can rotate freely in a support 7 crossed by an upright, or round bar 8 , fixed at points 9 to the rear panel 10 of the range.
A pivot 11 connects the support 7 to the arm 12, A pivot 13 connects the arm 12 to the arm 14 which can in turn pivot about a fixed axis 15. The arms 12 and 14 are joined by a spring 16. A second spring 17 is attached to the point 18 of the arm 14 and to a fixed point 19 of the rear panel 10 At the end of the stroke the flange 2 rests on a stop 20 fixed on the panel 10. Under the weight of the cover the support 7 slides along of the upright 8, the arms 12 and 14 move closer and then separate again.
