MMBT Convention Internationale : Demande de brevet all @and@2 K. 169 775 VIIId/21 dl déposée le 8 octobre 1943.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

  Adjustment device for dynamo-electric machines with brushes which can be moved. MMBT International Convention: patent application all @ and @ 2 K. 169,775 VIIId / 21 dl filed October 8, 1943.

   The present invention relates to those regulating devices for dynamo-electric machines provided with brushes which can be moved to continuously adjust the control voltage between a maximum positive value and a maximum negative value, in which the voltage characteristic representing the control voltage as a function of the movement of the brushes rises, from the point corresponding to the zero position of the brushes, rectilinearly until the scoring situated in the region of the highest voltages. The dynamo-electric machine can, as can be seen from Figures 1 and 2, each illustrating an exemplary embodiment of the invention, of the accompanying drawing, be either a direct current motor (fig.l), or a direct current generator (fig. 2).

   The set voltage Ur as determined by the movable brushes 5,6 is zero when the brush holder movable balance is offset 90 electrical degrees from the fixed brush holder balance with the brushes. fixed 3,4 which are, in fig.l for example, 'connected to the network voltage Un.'

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

In the zero position, the object of the invention comprises other fixed brushes7 and 8 bearing, at places of the same potential, on the periphery of the collector and which are interconnected by a short-circuited conductor 9. In the case of fig. The network voltage Un is located both near the field coil 2 and, through the fixed brushes 3 and 4, after the armature 1.

   Thanks to the invention, the following advantages are obtained: The zero position of the moving brushes 5,6 is clearly determined by the brushes 7,8 short-circuited and does not depend on harmful external influences. A difficulty could, for example, arise as a result of a variation of the no-load current whose magnetic field would give rise, near the moving brushes 5,6, to a variable voltage with the no-load current, if the brushes 7 and 8 shorted did not exist. But with regard to the short-circuit (conductor 9), absolutely no difference in potential can occur and, consequently, no variation in voltage can be felt either.

   On the other hand, the short-circuited junction causes that, in the case of the use, shown in fig.l, of an engine as a regulating device, the number of revolutions of the engine varies less than in absence of the short-circuited junction. If, for example, the brushes 5 and 6 are, as shown in fig. 1, moved a little from the zero position, the run, because of the smaller resistance in the armature, passes for the plus seed from broom 5 to broom 6, by path 5,7, 9, 8, 6.

   The other part of the current passes through the armature to the brushes 3, from there through the network to the brushes 4 and then through the armature to the brush 6. The resulting longitudinal armature field, which is formed as a result of these currents, weakens the motor field only to a small extent, so that the number of revolutions remains

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 roughly constalt. If the short-circuited junction were to fail, the current would flow from the movable brushes to ,, - the fixed balances 3 and 4. The field which forms in this case is, when the movable brushes are in the vicinity of the position zero, almost a true longitudinal induced field which would be superimposed on the. main field and would cause large variations in the number of turns.

   Even in the case of a fairly large displacement of the movable balance of the brush holder, the armature longitudinal field is kept small by the brushes short-circuited.

   Another advantage is that, as a result of the passage, described above, of the current through the smaller resistor, the temperature rise of the machine is lower.

   The machine can therefore be built smaller or be used more heavily.

   On the other hand, the small internal resistance in the vicinity of the zero position of the movable beams is advantageous when. the regulator is used as a control device -dals of the control systems
Léonard, in which, to reduce the remanence, the control voltage 1 is opposed to all or part of the armature voltage. The lower the internal resistance of the source of the control voltage is the elimination of remanence. FIG. 3 represents an exemplary embodiment comprising an opposing assembly at a rate of half the armature voltage.

   The armature a of the Leonardo generator with the excitation winding e and with the compound winding d supplies the motor
Leonardo b. A machine according to fig.l serves as a control unit e. Half of the armature voltage is opposed to the control voltage, determined between a Sengel ring f and an armature terminal of the Leonardo generator. The resistor disposed in the self-excitation circuit of the Leonardo generator is used in a known manner to reduce the necessary control current. Such an assembly has, in particular, also the aim of increasing the adjustment margin of the engine.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 Leonardo.

   But this goal is only fully achieved when the internal resistance of the source of the control voltage is very small in the vicinity of the zero control voltage, which is obtained by the two brushes 7 and 8 connected together in short circuit.
