<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

OF INVENTION PATENT THE COMPANY FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF METERS AND FACTORY EQUIPMENT
EMI1.1
AU2 Device for inserting a coin for a prepayment meter. French patent application in his favor of November 16, 1944.
The present invention relates to a coin insertion device for a prepayment meter making it possible, after the coin has been introduced, to close the insertion slot, to push and advance the coin in a slide. , finally to block the maneuver button in order to prevent backtracking.
The device is characterized by means for tilting the shutter lever of the insertion slot, and by the use of a part push lever.
Figs. 1 to 3, given by way of example of the invention, represent respectively:
Fig. 1, an isometric view of the device in the initial position.
Fig. 2, an isometric view, the part 2 having fallen into the receiving horn, the latter having already rotated under the influence of the rotation of the operating button.
Fig. 3 shows a view of the safety device introducing the rotation of the button if the part has not fallen.
In figs. 1 and 2, we see the window E through which the part is introduced, the lever X provided with a curved tab F, and a finger D immobilizing the cam K mounted on the axis 0 of the operating button Bm.
Lever B, centered at O1, has a hook A, a fork Y acting on the arched tab F of lever X, and a finger C driving the part pushing fork R, centered at O2.
Also integral with the axis of the operating button, a disk U actuates by a lug H the notched cam N integral with the horn M which receives the coin.
The part placed in the horn acts on the lever L.
In fig. 3, we see the horn M turned over the part P and the stop Q.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The operation is as follows: at the start, the position of the components is as follows (fig.l): the finger D carried by the bent arm of the lever X is engaged in a notch of the cam K integral with the operating button B @, which is therefore immobilized in both directions of rotation. Hook A is in the slide.
The part being introduced, the lever X is tilted and locked @, it is impossible to withdraw the part or to insert another one.
This locking takes place as follows: the part P is introduced into the slot Z of the lever X, slot located in front of the window E. As soon as the part is inserted, the window is immediately closed thanks to the tilting of the lever X, because the part pushes the spring hook A, releases the lever B which, under the action of the spring r1, switches to 01, causing, using the finger C, the munic fork of the lever B dui lifts the part and pushes her inside. This falls into the slide Gl, then into the cone m.
Thanks to the Y fork carried by the lever B, the X lever swings around O3 thus closing the window E, and releases the cane K from the lug D, the spring r @ is loaded.
The operating button Bm, which was blocked in both directions, is released in the direction of the arrow, it is not possible to turn the button in the opposite direction, the pawl G abutting against the roller I.
The disk U, integral with the axis of the maneuver button, drives, by its finger H, the disk N independent of the maneuver axis, but integral with the axis of the horn M which receives the part after it has been moved through the chute Gl. By its rotation, the horn M drives the part P yes pushes the lever L (fig. 2 and 7).
When it has escaped the edge of the part, the lever L returns to its initial position, ready for a new operation. Its angular displacement is a direct function of the diameter of the part and allows, by an a.pproprié device, its selection and recording.
After rotating the operating button 180, the horn M is overturned, the part falls into a box reserved for this purpose. If the part does not fall for any other reason, it is blocked by the stopper Q, which prevents further rotation of the button in the direction of the arrow. A margin is ensured for the return back, a notch is made in the cam N, the part shaken, can fall and the maneuver to continue.
Before the horn has made its complete rotation by rotating the operating button, the various members X, R, B have returned to their initial position, as shown in FIG. 1. For this purpose, the roller I presses on the edge T of the fork Y of the arm B tilting at 01; on the other hand, finger D returns to the end of travel in the notch of cam K, window E is open again.
We do not depart from the scope of the invention if, to achieve the same goals, equivalent means are used, that is to say, the tilting of the window-door lever, by releasing a 2nd tilting lever itself; the, pushing the part inside by a @ th rocking lever driving the 2nd lever, then the first and the various locks immobilizing the operating button in one direction.
