   BREVET D'INVENTION au nom de:
SOBEFO SOCIETE BELGE DE PHOTOGRAPHIE S.A.

   22, rue Lebeau   BRUXELLES

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

   PATENT OF INVENTION in the name of:
SOBEFO SOCIETE BELGE DE PHOTOGRAPHIE S.A.

   22, rue Lebeau BRUSSELS
NEW OPTICAL DEVICE APPLICABLE IN PARTICULAR TO
PHOTOMATON TYPE PHOTOGRAPHIC DEVICES.

   The object of the present invention is to obtain, in photographic cameras, in particular those of the type called "Photomaton" (previously patented under the number 329880), an enlargement of the height of the head of the subject photographed.

   To obtain this enlargement is added, according to the invention, an additional lens (in this case a divergent meniscus) in front of the front lens of the existing objective. This additional lens, in good quality crystal (for example crystal Zeiss) will have an outside diameter of 44 mm. or other appropriate, its outer edge being well ground. This lens is placed, with gentle friction on a door = ebonite lens. This lens holder rubs rather hard on the lens crown.

   The placement of this new lens results in moving the focus, depending on the type of lens used, for example 10 cm. the optical center of the front lens; The old relative openings F 2, 2.5, 3.1 and 4.5 then become 2.5, 3.1, 3.9 and 5.5.

   Moving the focus requires lengthening the lens holder; this is lengthened, according to a second characteristic of the invention by the addition of a bronze nozzle, the inner face of which is painted in a matt black color; the objective holder will ensure the fixing of the said nozzle on the head by means of four brass screws.

   Finally, to be able to ensure the operation of the triggering device under these new conditions,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 which would no longer be properly provided with the sole device of the apparatus described in patent No. 329,880, is adjusted in a round tail, according to a third characteristic of the invention, at the end of the support arm, a new piece in

 rectangular copper, which is soldered to it at 1.'été-in; in addition, said arm supporting the release device will be pierced by two holes, 5 mm. for the placement of two axes in 2.ci8r, axes fixed by a nut and a Grower washer.

  On these axes are mounted two steel gears. A brass nozzle is frictionally centered on the axis of each of these two pinions. A lation screw fixes each pinion on its respective axis. In the groove of this axis on which the cylindrical end of the brass screw rubs, oil will be put in order to lubricate the axis.
