<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The present invention relates to a heating apparatus of great simplicity, .functioning with heavy oil, in particular as an oil stove, under conditions of economy, regularity and remarkable security.
This appliance is characterized by a removable pot forming a combustion chamber, consisting of a double-walled container, the inner wall of which is pierced with a large number of air intake holes, and at the bottom of which opens a fuel inlet pipe. The outer wall of the pot is pierced with an air inlet opening and forms around the inner wall a jacket for preheating the air, before it enters the combustion chamber.
The removable pot is fixed at its upper part to a sheet which fits into slides so as to be able to slide with ease for the purpose of igniting the fuel.
The accompanying drawing shows by way of example a stove constructed in accordance with the present invention: @
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Figs. 1 and 2 are two vertical sections taken in planes perpendicular to each other, showing the lower part of the stove.
Fig. 3 is a plan view of the pot and of the sheet which supports it.
Fig. 4 is a section of the pot on a larger scale.
The stove shown is made up of the tubular body 1 surmounting the pot consisting of two walls 2, 3 fixed at their upper part to a sheet 4 which can slide in guides 5 provided under the tubular body 1.
The outer wall 2 of the pot is pierced at its lower part with an air inlet opening 6 baffled by a plate 7. The air is admitted into the pot through numerous holes 8 made in the pot. the inner wall 3. These holes are preferably grouped in superimposed rows, the lower rows comprising a smaller number of holes than the upper rows.
In addition, holes 9 drilled in the plate 4 open into the lower part of the body 1 where an extension of the combustion chamber is formed by a vertical cylindrical rim 10.
At the lower part of the pot and near the center of the latter opens the fuel inlet pipe 11 which is intended to fit into the inlet pipe 12 provided with a valve 13.
To start the. pan, it suffices to partially remove the pot using the handle 14, and throw a piece of paper in flame. With the pot pushed back into place, tap 13 is opened and the fuel, heavy oil or fuel oil, ignites in turn. The combustion is supported by the air admitted through the openings 8 and the flame rises in the tubular body 1, at the base of which the combustion is completed by the air admitted through the openings 9. Gradually the walls of the pot s' heat up and by its contact with them the combustion air is also heated,, @
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
thus increasing the efficiency of combustion, the intensity of which is regulated according to needs by operating the valve 13.
Complete combustion is thus achieved, which can be seen by the absence of any deposit of soot at the connection nozzle of the chimney located at the upper part of the body 1, not shown in the drawing.
The construction of the stove is very simple and can be made entirely of sheet metal, thus ensuring a high heat transfer coefficient.
It is understood that the pot of the stove shown, by way of example, can be adapted to any heating device, for example a stove, and that changes in shape or arrangement can be made to it without going beyond the scope of the 'invention.
