DISPOSITIF DE SIGNALISATION DE LA PROCHAINE GARE D'ARRET D'UN TRAIN
EMI1.1
PENDANT LA is'I1ARCHE DE CE iVIEi\'# TRAIN.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

SIGNALING DEVICE FOR THE NEXT STATION OF A TRAIN STOPPING
EMI1.1
DURING THE WALK OF THIS LIFETI \ '# TRAIN.
Sometimes a traveler, especially a foreigner, is embarrassed, not knowing far enough in advance when to prepare to get off the train. To remedy this drawback, the signaling system for the next station to stop the train has been designed, forming the object of the present invention. Thanks to this system, whoever is on the train is automatically notified of the next station at which the train will stop. The simplest signaling system that can be adopted is the acoustic system; by loudspeakers to be installed in each wagon by connecting them to a specially designed transmitter circuit, controlled by the train driver.
However, this system has the drawback that the signal may, for various reasons, go unnoticed or the name of the station may not be fully understood.
The preferred signaling system according to the invention is the optical system. It is represented, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing which shows three different embodiments which are:
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Fig. 1, an apparatus in the form of an open box A, on the bottom of which there is a sheet f bearing the clearly visible name of the stations 1, 2, 3, 4 ... successively served by the train on a determined route , an electric bulb 1 being placed in front of each name, this bulb being connected, with its switch i on a specially provided circuit K.
At least one of these devices must be installed in each viagon and the train driver must have in each box, before departure, the sheet with the names of the stations on the line served by the train and he must likewise light each box. times the bulb corresponding to the. station at which the train will stop.
The apparatus according to fig. 2 is formed by a sort of clock face B on which is applied a circular sheet f, on which are inscribed, in the form of rails, the names of stations 1, 2, 3, 4. In the center of the dial is wedged a jerkily movable index n from a position corresponding to a station to the position corresponding to the next station.
The station of the next stop will be the one indicated by the index. The train driver will have to provide for the change of sheets and the movement of the index.
Finally, FIG. 3 shows an apparatus in the form of a roll C from which a sheet f2 bearing the names of the stations 1, 2, 3, 4 .. served by the train on a determined route is unwound. By turning the roller in the direction of the arrow, the unwinding of the sheet f2 is determined so that the name of the station (2) of the next stop appears on the front of the roller C.
Each of the devices described can be arranged in such a way that it can be operated, instead of the train driver, by the passenger himself by means of the prior introduction of a coin.
