<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Combined furniture
The present invention relates to a combined piece of furniture, of small footprint, which comprises a low cabinet, a table and an ironing board arranged so as not to occupy more space, in the folded state, than a low cabinet. ordinary.
According to the invention, the upper part of the cabinet comprises, under the shelf, two superimposed flat compartments, one of which serves as a housing for a retractable table provided with rigid feet, and the other, preferably the one above, contains a swivel ironing board.
The retractable table is advantageously made in two parts which, when extended, give a table with a width practically double the depth of the cupboard and, when the table is retracted, are superimposed on each other in thus taking up half the space in their housing, the opening of which is closed and concealed by the edge of the table which is applied to it. Two vertical grooves in the facade of the ar-

moire, receive the rigid legs of the retracted table.
Arranged longitudinally in its compartment, the ironing board has a length substantially equal to the width of the cabinet and a width corresponding to the depth of the latter. Its pivot is provided in a corner of the front of the cabinet and it deploys perpendicularly%. the latter, cantilevered, but comprises a bracing in the form of a folding rod which, in the extended position, connects the middle of the board to the lower part of the cabinet and transfers the force of the cabinet to it. ironing. A flap closes and conceals the entrance to the board housing, contributing to the aesthetics of the furniture of which it forms the pediment.
In the accompanying drawing, which shows by way of example a combined piece of furniture according to the invention:
Fig. 1 is a front view of the closed cabinet, FIG. 2 is a cross section, showing the ironing board and ironing board extended, and
Fig. 3 is a plan view, without the top shelf and the table, and showing the two positions of the pivoting ironing board.
1 designates the body of the cabinet, the lower part of which, u above the plinth 2, constitutes the cabinet 3 provided with two doors 4. The upper part, between the cabinet and the upper shelf 5 of the cabinet, is divided by a horizontal partition 6 in two flat compariticments 7 and 8.
In compartment 7 is housed the retractable table, formed of two parts 9, 9 'which come in the same plane when the table is unfolded and supported at the rear by the cabinet and at the front by the feet. with casters 10, but are superimposed when the table is put into compartment 7. For this purpose, part 9 is guided in the latter by ramp slides

11 and its edge adjacent to part 9 'is lifted by a butt 12, articulated on part 9', which meets a ramp 13 at the entrance to the compartment. The feet 10 are housed in vertical grooves 14 of the facade, while the edge 15 of the table, provided with handles 16 used to maneuver the latter, covers the compartment 7 centered.
The compartment 8, closed at the front by a flap 8 'which constitutes the pediment of the cabinet and can be folded down onto the shelf 5, contains the pivoting ironing board 17 which is brought into the ironing position by pivoting around the vertical pivot 18 located at the corner of the front of the cabinet: A stop 19 maintains the board in the deployed position, and a rod 20 the bracing. The lower end of this trihgle is removably attached to a fitting 21 at the bottom of the cabinet, while its upper end can travel in a slide 22 of the board to allow the rod to be folded under the board when it is retracted. in his home.
As can be seen from the drawing, the combined cabinet, without being more cumbersome than an ordinary cabinet, has the advantages of a large cabinet, a good-sized table and a large ironing board. If desired, the cabinet can include one or more drawers or any other usual arrangement.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the form and to the details of execution described and shown by way of example and one would not depart from its scope by making modifications thereto.
