Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

  "Profile to keep glazing without sealant." The present invention relates to a profile for keeping glazing without mastic, comprising a core, at least one wing, fixed to the core, and provided with grooves for the drainage of rainwater and condensation.

   Devices of the same type already known have various drawbacks. The first of them is to fix the glass leaves to the profile by various means such as tabs secured to the profile by bolts and the like.

   The contact material with the glass and these tabs is sometimes rubber, sometimes felt. On the other hand, these tabs must be rigid to be able to adhere properly to the glass. This kind of device is quite expensive.

   Other devices make use of sheets of an impermeable and malleable material such as zinc or lead, introduced into the interstice left between the core of the profile and a fold of the latter, but it is easily understood that despite

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 the economy that this method would represent compared to others, the fixing of the malleable lamella is defective and the assembly deteriorates rapidly, especially when it is subjected to frequent handling, for example when replacing the glazing.

   The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks by providing the means of substantially producing a retaining device such that it is both solid and adaptable to various thicknesses of glass.

   For this purpose, the aforesaid core comprises at least one retaining housing for a strip coming to rest on the glazing, this strip can be replaced by simple sliding, of the latter in the dwarf. In the event of deterioration of the lamella, replacement of the entire profile is not necessary as is the case in known systems.

   In an advantageous embodiment of the object of the invention, the aforesaid housing is dovetailed. The lamella can be bent and folded again indefinitely without the least danger of cracking.

   Another drawback of known devices is that they do not have sufficient means for removing rainwater and condensation.

   To remedy this drawback, one of the ends of the profile is raised and pierced with an orifice at the end so as to allow the water from the aforesaid grooves to flow outwards. This opening also makes it possible to clean the channels without removing the bars.

   Other details and features of the invention will emerge from the description of a profile for maintaining glazing without mastic, given below by way of non-limiting example and with reference to the accompanying drawings ;.

   Figure 1 shows a cross section of the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 device according to the invention.

   , Figure 2 is a detail of attachment.

   Figure 3 is a top view of the bracket of Figure 2.

   FIG. 4 is an end view of the end of the device according to the invention.

   Fig. 5 is a plan view showing how to arrange the channels on a slanted roof.

   FIG. 6 is a plan view of a skylight with a rounded slope: with elements according to the invention.

     @ In the various figures, the same reference notations designate identical elements.

   The profile according to the invention consists of a core 1, the lower part 2 of which is thicker than the upper part 1. Between the two parts of the core, there is provided a dovetail housing 3 intended to receive a end of a blade 4 of polomb or zinc.

   Advantageously, the profile will be made of aluminum.

   The lower part of the web 2 is provided with wings
5, which are provided with grooves 6 and 7. The groove 6, which is adjacent to the soul 2, is much wider than the groove 7 which is contiguous.

   . The fact is explainable because the groove 6 must be able to evacuate a flow of rainwater higher than @ the flow flowing in the groove 7 and corresponding to the condensation water.

   On the other hand, the profile is provided at the end which. is the lowest, when placed on a building, of an orifice 8 intended for the drainage of water to the exterior.

   The core 2 is thicker than the core 1 so as to be able to introduce therein a screw 9 for fixing a tab 10.

   This tab 10 is constituted by a plate provided with holes 11 in which are introduced the screws 12 which

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 fix the forks 13 on the legs. These forks 13 are also made of aluminum.

   They will receive a wooden slat which blocks the opening, @ existing under the windows and the cornice or purlin. This batten prevents the penetration of wind, water and snow. These forks are swivel, allowing placement in any direction.

   Once placed.) The glass sheets are wedged by the fold of the blade 4.

   The provision of the fastening tabs 10 allows the profiles to be placed in all directions as illustrated in Figures 5 and 6.

   Indeed, the forks 13 move around the screws 12 playing the role of journals can therefore occupy all positions relative to the lugs lo.

   These are further provided with guide stops 15, corresponding to the width of the flanges 5 of the profile.

   It should be understood that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment described above and that many modifications can be made to it, in particular as regards the form, the constitution, the number and the arrangement. - description of the elements involved in its realization, without departing from the scope of the present patent application, provided that these changes are compatible with the spirit of the claims set out below.

   In particular, the aforesaid section could be made of a material other than metal, for example, of plastic material having the required strength qualities.
