 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

   . La figure 3 montre un détail en coupe.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

  "Pneumatic dripper".

   It is well known that for the volumetric measurement of liquids by drop, one commonly uses drip counters, consisting of a small glass tube provided with a rubber cap, which serves to first create a vacuum necessary for the suction of the liquid. liquid and then a pressure which, while pushing the liquid towards the end capillary tube, determines the formation of volumetrically equal drops to a sufficient extent for current use.

   However, these droppers have the drawback of being separated from the bottle, and of being, - consequently exposed to atmospheric agents with all the facility of corruption.

   In addition, the bottle from which it is necessary to withdraw the liquid, coming in turn in contact with atmospheric agents, is nonetheless susceptible :, of corruption, not to mention the danger of overturning the bottle itself. and, consequently, the dispersion of the liquid which it contains.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

   In order to obviate these drawbacks, use is made of dropometers consisting of flasks provided with a special device which allows the liquid to come out dropwise.

   It should be noted, in this connection, that the manufacture of these drippers involves quite considerable difficulties, in that the aforementioned devices must meet not only the economic requirement of a moderate price, but also and above all. the need for the drops falling from the bottle to have a constant volume at their outlet, whatever the nature of the liquid contained in the bottle.

   Considering therefore that the dropometers in question must be used for the exit of all kinds of liquids having various density, or volatility, or dilatability, it is obvious that the problem presents, in spite of its apparent simplicity, rather complications. serious.

   The dropometers acting exclusively by gravity, undergo in a particular way the variations in density of the liquid, while the dropometers which act by capillarity undergo the effects of the viscosity of the liquid.

   . The present invention provides a dropper using, in the same way as the dropper apparatus, the pressure of the air in order to obtain the exit of the liquid through a capillary tube, but which also has the characteristic of being completely closed, so that it combines the inherent advantages of the dropper with the advantages of an ordinary dropper.

   The accompanying drawing illustrates the embodiment of the invention by presenting some embodiments.

   Figure 1 shows in sectional and exterior views of a type of dropper (separated from its bottle).

   Figure 2 shows another type of dropper (without the bottle).

   . Figure 3 shows a sectional detail.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

   On any type of bottle 1 preferably provided with a threaded neck 2, an assembly consisting of an equally threaded stopper 3, made of any material (for example stamped synthetic resin), is screwed on, the head of the stopper having a fairly large orifice ¯4 through which passes a rubber capsule forming a dome 5, and which is fixed below the orifice either by adhesion, or by gluing, mastic, etc., or finally by l effect of the pressure of a washer 6 made of cork or any suitable material.

   The upper part of the bell 2 being perforated, it encloses by adhesion a small glass tube 1 supported on the other side by the washer 6.

   As shown in Figure 1, the glass tube is extended until it touches the bottom of the bottle 1, or it is shorter and curved, according to Figure 2. A cap according to Figure 3 is screwed on the external thread 8 of cap 3, allows the closure of the dripper after use.

   It is obvious that by compressing the dome 5 made of rubber, or any other suitable plastic material, a pressure is exerted on the liquid contained in the bottle 1 which allows the drops of the liquid to be released through the spout 7.

   The embodiment indicated in FIG. 1 may however present, in a particular case, drawbacks; when the liquid has a high coefficient of expansion or extreme fluidity or volatility.

   In this case, the air which is above the liquid may determine, by expanding under the effect of ambient heat or of the hand, an excess dripping of liquid.

   It will then be preferable to adopt the embodiment shown in FIG. 3.

   According to this embodiment, the glass tube 1 is very short and curved downwards.

   If we consider that for the operation of the dropper,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

 it is necessary to grasp it and place it in a horizontal position in order to let the liquid drop by drop into the said complex container, and that the / position is imposed by the direction of the outlet tube 7, the liquid even when it would be present only in minimum quantity, will overturn by effect of the position, in the neck of the bottle and will accumulate all around the terminal part 7.

   In this position, the operation takes place in the manner described above.

   It goes without saying, as already emerges from the foregoing, that the invention is in no way limited to the indicated modes of application or to those of the embodiments which relate to the various parts more especially indicated in what is described above. precedes; but that it embraces on the contrary all the variants.
