<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

"Apparatus for conventional perforation and delivery of tickets and the like"
The present invention relates to an apparatus for the conventional perforation and issuance of tickets and the like whereby a duplicate of the perforated and issued tickets can be retained in the machine.
Similar devices have already been proposed, but. they have various drawbacks, among which should be mentioned first of all the fact that the tickets' 4 issue and the witness tickets, arranged side by side in the form of a single strip, must be separated by longitudinal tearing, which frequently initiates the Complete and accidental tear of ticket 4 issued before it leaves the machine.
The apparatus according to the present invention aims to eliminate these drawbacks and has among other features.

ques those to include a release mechanism with prepayment of new design, a reserve of tickets arranged in zig-zag in the apparatus and an easily controllable coin collecting device.
In accordance with the invention, the apparatus is characterized essentially in that it comprises at least, in combination, a punching mechanism, a propelling mechanism for two superimposed strips of tickets, a device for disconnecting tickets from one of them. said bands, a winding device for the other band, a locking mechanism for the punching mechanism and a locking mechanism for the disconnecting device.
The apparatus is combined with a so-called prepayment mechanism, the latter being designed to systematically prevent any fraud as well as to systematically detect false or damaged coins introduced into the apparatus.
Preferably, the coin collector is a receptacle capable of being removed for emptying and adapted so that the introduction mechanism with which it cooperates dispenses only the correct coins to it in a corresponding order. issuance of tickets.
The characteristics of the apparatus according to the invention are described in more detail below with reference to the drawings in the appendix in which:
Fig.l shows in perspective the punching mechanism and part of the related members of the device, according to an embodiment chosen as an example.
Fig. 2 is a schematic sectional view through the apparatus mounted in its casing.
FIG. 3 is a partial perspective view showing more particularly the propellant mechanism, the prepayment mechanism and the locking means.
In fig.l and 3 the apparatus mainly comprises a single toothed drum ¯1 for driving the superimposed bands 2 of tickets. One of these bands is wound on a winding spool

3 while the other is guided between a perforated die and a plate accommodating punches 6. These are normally biased downwards by helical springs 7 inserted between the plate and the hollow foot 8 of the punches. Under each punch is arranged a rocker pivoted on a fixed axis 10 and the other end of which is kept in contact with triggering control levers 11.
These levers cooperate with a heel 13 of each rocker 9. The levers 11 are articulated on control levers 14 each carrying a key 15, and return springs 16 are stretched between these levers 14 and the lever 11 d. 'on the one hand and between another point of the levers 14 and the noses of the rockers, 9 actuating the punches 6. A locking flap 17 is articulated around a fixed axis 18 and carries an axis 19 supporting a cam 20. This cam has a nose 21 capable of hooking a movable cutting blade 22 cooperating with a fixed blade 23 to cut the tickets issued. A pawl 25 can hook the blade 22 in the spread position and can be released by a stop 24 of the cam 20.
This is guided in its movements by the cooperation of its judiciously profiled back 26 with a fixed stop 27 and of a flat part 28 with two stops 29-30 participating in the 4 ratchet wheel 31 secured to the axis d 'drum drive 1.
The cam 20 is biased by a return spring 32 and the movable blade 22 by a return spring 33. The levers 14 act on a shutter 34 in contact with a rod 35 causing the wheel 31 to progress step by step. 'intervention of a retaining pawl 36.
The prepayment mechanism mainly comprises a fixed sheath 37 guiding a pusher 38 having a longitudinal groove 39 interrupted by the opening for introducing the coins 40 and by an opening 41. A claw 42 can oscillate about an axis. 43 and has two teeth 44 and 45 arranged in the groove 39. A stop 46 of the pusher can act on the shutter 17. A drum 47 is fixed to the extension of the axis of the drum 1 and can include indications relating to the position of the tickets in the device.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
In fig. 2, the apparatus is enclosed in an envelope 48 intended mainly to contain the strips of tickets 2 negated in zig-zag and a receptacle 49 for the conforming coins. The envelope 48 has a window 50 for examining the drum 47 and a lumen 51 for the exit of the cut tickets.
In the case of the example chosen, the operation of the device is as follows:
The introduction of a part into the pusher 38 allows the latter to be inserted without the teeth of the claw 42 blocking this pusher 38 by penetrating the tooth 45 into the opening 41; if the inserted coin is too small, it passes through the opening of the sheath 37 placed under the opening 40, while if this coin is too thick or too thin, the teeth 44 and 45 respectively abut against said piece or against the front edge of the opening 41.
A compliant part being introduced, the pusher 38 is pressed and causes the flap 17 to pivot which unlocks the levers 14 and moves the cam 20 so as to hook it under the stop 27. At the same time, the blade 22 of the disconnector is hooked by the pawl 25 in the separated position.
The flap 17 kept lowered by the cam 20 prevents the return of the pusher, 38 by cooperation with an end shoulder of the latter. The levers 14 can therefore be depressed, one 4 at a time by the intervention of a known mechanism, with juxtaposed balls for example. The depression of the keys 15 causes the lowering of the levers 11 such that the latter, acting on the noses 13 of the levers 9, raise the punches 6 perforating the tickets.
For a determined amplitude of the movement of the rockers 9, the release of the levers 11 occurs so as to allow the continuation of the downward movement of the levers 14; these therefore act individually on the shutter 34 and from there on the rod 35 so that the actuation of a key 15 causes first of all the perforation by punching of the two superimposed tickets, then the advancement of one step of these tickets between matrix 4 and
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
the plate 5. After a certain number of successive perforations, determined by the toothing of the wheel 31, the stop 29 of this wheel acts on the upper part of the cam 20 to release the latter from the fixed stop 27.
The return spring 32 of this cam then lifts the cam 20 by driving the pin 19 so as to disengage the pusher 38, while the stop 24 lifts the pawl 2? by releasing the movable blade 22 which returns to its starting point by cutting the perforated ticket. Simultaneously, the stop 30 is subjected 4 to a stress such, by the flat part 28 of the cam 20, that the drum 1 is driven in rotation so as to move the two bands of tickets 2 by the required distance separating the successive groups. perforations. After the perforation of a ticket, the stop 30 therefore occupies the place of the stop 29 and vice versa.
Thanks to this arrangement, it is not possible to perforate the tickets without then moving them forward one step; furthermore, the ticket to be issued can only be cut when it is completely perforated, and the apparatus can only be used when the pusher 38 is returned to its starting point, indicating that the apparatus is ready to perforate a hole. correctly placed ticket.
Thanks to the zig-zag arrangement of the tickets, a large quantity of them can be contained in the device, and for each ticket issued, it is possible to note the corresponding location of the coin, so that a non-conforming token of studied dimensions, which could have been used to unlock the mechanism, can be easily identified as well as the number of the ticket considered.
Of course, without departing from the scope of the invention, the mechanisms constituting the apparatus, object of the invention, can be notably modified in accordance with the general arrangement of the mechanisms, the number of control keys, or receipt of tickets, instructions for use of the device, etc.
By way of example, the apparatus according to the invention can be used for the perforation of any witnesses such as tickets.
