<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Modernization processes for ceramic factories $
The methods according to the present invention relate to:
1 The manufacture of molded clay products.
Contrary to general practice, the clay is first dehydrated and then transformed into an impalpable powder. After the addition, thus made very easy, of the chemicals which will make of any clay, a perfectly adequate clay for the product that one wishes to manufacture, this impalpable dust is moistened with about 20% of water and kneaded. to form the clay that will be used in the manufacture
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
products of choice according to the usual methods.
20 Drying of clay products.
This drying is carried out in a perfect manner only with the recovery heats of a continuous furnace of the "Hoffman" type of the "Zig - Zag" type or of the "Tunnel" type.
Recovery is made possible by the adequate provision of appropriate partitions.
3 Cooking products.
It is carried out according to the usual processes in a "Hoffman" or "Zig-Zag" continuous oven or in a "Tunnel" oven with the difference that the recovery of the cooking heat is ensured in the three cases in an integral way; that is to say that the quantity of calories necessary to dry the total cooking capacity of an oven is in great excess and thus further allows the heating of the appropriate premises.
Either way, the consumption of coal per 1000 Kgs. of cooked products varies between 50 and 60 Kgs., including cooking and drying.
