<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Sur les dessins : Fig. 1 est une coupe verticale de l'appareil suivant l'une des formes de réalisation; Fi. 2 est une coupe suivant la ligne 2-2, fige 1;
Fig. 3 est une,coupe verticale à travers l'appareil , suivant l'autre forme de réalisation;
Fig. 4 est une coupe suivant la ligne 4-4,Fig. 3 ;
Chacun
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

"Device for crushing and defibrating paper pulp or other fibrous material".
The present invention relates to devices for defibrating and grinding paper pulp or other fibrous material and comprises a casing supplied with an inlet port and an outlet port for the pulp, defibration pieces and grinding rotatable or both non-rotatable and rotating parts, cooperating with each other and having passage openings for the pulp in said envelope. According to the invention, the defibrating and grinding parts consist exclusively of disc-knives or cutting discs which are arranged to treat the pulp while said pulp is being used.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
caused to advance in the axial direction or substantially in the axial direction.
The apparatus according to the invention allows the use of very high pulp concentrations and makes it possible to obtain an excellent defibrating and grinding effect. Other advantages will emerge from the following description.
Two embodiments of the invention and some examples of different embodiments of the disc-knives are illustrated in the drawings accompanying this specification.
In the drawings: Fig. 1 is a vertical section of the apparatus according to one of the embodiments; Fi. 2 is a section taken on line 2-2, freeze 1;
Fig. 3 is a vertical section through the apparatus, according to the other embodiment;
Fig. 4 is a section taken along line 4-4, FIG. 3;
Fig. 5 is a section taken along line 5-5, FIG. 4, and Fil-. 6 to 12 show examples of various knife discs.
In the embodiment according to Figs. 1 and 2, the operation is carried out with one or more defibrating and grinding parts in the form of disc-knives which can rotate, cooperating with one or more disc-blades which cannot rotate. In the example shown, a rotating blade disc 1 and a non-rotating blade disc 2 are used, said discs having a planar shape and being located in a casing 3 having an introduction orifice 4. and an outlet 5 for the pulp. The disc-knife 1 is fixed to a shaft 6 mounted so as to be able to rotate while the disc-knife 2 is mounted idle on said shaft, so that it does not participate in the rotation of the latter.
Each
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
of the disc-knives 1 and 2, which are preferably obtained by casting, is formed by a system of knives extending from the edges of the discs to approximately their center, serving as all or practically. The whole of each disc actually participates in the treatment of the pulp. The knife system is arranged in such a way that all the knives on the disc have a crushing effect. Between the individual knives 7 there are passage openings 8 for the pulp. The knives can be arranged in the same way in both discs 1 and 2, or the knife system of one of the discs can be arranged in a different way than the knife system of the other disc. .
The thickness of the knives as well as the width of the openings 8 may vary depending on the nature of the pulp to be treated and the quality of the paper to be produced. In the lower part of the casing there is an opening 9 for washing the interior of the appliance.
Heavy constituents, which can be deposited on the bottom of the casing 3, can be easily removed through this opening. The shaft 6 carrying the rotating knife disc is movable in a known manner by means of an adjustment device 10 to control the grinding pressure between the rotating knife disc 1 and the rotating blade 2. which cannot turn.
The pulp is introduced by virtue of its own weight or by means of a known transport device, such as a helix, into the introduction port 4 is forced to pass in an axial direction or in a substantially axial direction through. the disc-couteam not being able to rotate 2 and the disc-rotating knife 1, towards the discharge orifice 5 where it leaves the apparatus in the final crushed state.
It is also possible to bring the pulp in such a way that it first passes through the rotating disc-knife.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
1 and then the non-rotating blade disc 2, in which case the discharge orifice 5 plays the role of the inlet and the inlet orifice 4 that of the discharge.
As shown in the drawings, the shaft 6 is horizontal, but it can also be arranged vertically.
The embodiment shown in Figs. 3 to 5 in essence,
EMI4.1
differs / from the device, according to i "i, Ls. 1 and 2, only by the fact that (instead of a blade disc which can turn and a blade disc which cannot rotate) it There are two rotatable disc-knives 1 each attached to its respective shaft 6, and in that the knives 7 are constructed other than in Figs. 1 and 2. Thus, in the embodiment according to Figs. Figs 3 to 5 the knives consist of a number of straight blades, arranged radially (Fig. 4) which, on the outwardly facing side of each disc 1, are provided with parts 11 (Figs.
4 and 5) which are curved so as to facilitate the grasping and advancement of the pulp. The two shafts 6 on which the blade discs are fixed turn in the opposite direction. The grinding pressure between the knife discs 1 can be controlled in known manner by a pressure device or by a movable electric motor (not shown).
4
The pulp is fed through the inlet port / in the same manner as in the embodiment described above and, passes in an approximately axial direction through the openings 8 in the two knife discs towards the port. - evacuation fice 5, but the direction of the flow of the pulp can also be reversed, so that the outlet 5 functions as an inlet, and the inlet 4 as an outlet.
In the two embodiments described, the disc-knives have a planar shape, and so are the
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
disc-knives shown as an example in Figs. 6 and 7. TheFigs. 8 and 9 and Figs. 10 and 11 show examples of conically shaped blade discs. Fig. 121 ,, finally, shows an example of convex shaped disc-knives.
In the.? Most milled grinding machines working with disc-knives, the pulp is introduced through the middle of a disc, and then passes radially between the discs roughly parallel to the knives attached to the discs, so that most of the pulp leaves the grinding apparatus without having been subjected to any grinding. In fact, grinding devices are known in which the pulp passes axially through the discs. However, in said known devices, the grinding parts consist of a plate provided with openings and cooperating with another plate on which relatively small number of knives are fixed.
In such a construction the crushing effect is very small because only a small part of the plate exerts any real crushing action.
These drawbacks are eliminated in the apparatus according to the invention, in which the defibrating and grinding parts consist exclusively of disc-knives formed of knife systems arranged in such a way that all or all / substantially all of each disc participates very effectively in the treatment of the pulp, the openings between the knives being sufficient for the pulp to pass through them even at the highest concentrations (-the pulp which may be present. Due to the large number of its knives the apparatus has a much greater capacity than previously known grinding apparatuses of this kind.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
If particularly vigorous shredding is required for special qualities of paper, one can provide, one behind the other on the same shaft, more disc-knives than have been used. shown. For certain qualities of paper the knives may be of stone.
The device operates continuously, and the energy consumption is very low, because the power is used for grinding only, and not for moving the pulp, as is the case in ordinary threshers and in Jordan mills.
