 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  "Labels and other washable office items".

   We know the application of lacquered papers and boards for publishing and binding where they are used for ornamental effects.

   The present invention relates to the application of lacquering paper and cardboard to the manufacture of labels--tes mainly for binders, files, registers and others, and to the manufacture of such office items, partially or fully lacquered.

   The lacquering of papers and cardoons for such applications is no longer intended for ornamental effects; its main purpose is to make it possible to remove by simple washing the inscriptions that are usually included on these labels or in usual locations of these office items

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 which allows these inscriptions to be replaced without having to change the label.

   This invention naturally extends to the case where the labels are incorporated into the cover of the file, cabinet or register, or form part of this cover *
In this case, the invention acquires all the greater importance since there can no longer be any question of changing the label.

   Thus the office articles according to the invention can be lacquered at the locations where users are accustomed to carry inscriptions or to stick labels, that is to say on the front or back of the cover. , and for certain special uses * on the back. We will also mention the lacquering of the cards.

   The lacquer can be applied to other parts of the article, for example to places where the article is usually handled, or where it is exposed to soiling, for example edges, edges, ribs, tabs and other places.

   It will not be departing from the scope of the invention if the lacquering is extended to other parts of the article for which it is useless or of little use for the effects of the present invention.
