  Perfectionnements aux fûts métalliques à couvercle amovible 
Cette invention est relative aux fûts métalliques munis d'un couvercle amovible que l'on fixe au corps du fût à l'aide d'un carcan qui embrasse et serre ensemble le bourrelet périphérique du fût et le rebord du couvercle. 



   On a proposé divers dispositifs pour le serrage de ces carcans. Les dispositifs qui font l'objet de la présente inven- tion sont conçus de manière à produire le serrage du carcan au moyen d'une vis et se distinguent des dispositifs à vis connus par le fait que la vis et son écrou sont logés dans des pattes du carcan de manière à ne pas pouvoir tomber et se perdre lors de l'enlèvement du couvercle. 



   Le dessin annexé représente à titre d'exemples deux formes d'exécution du dispositif conforme à l'invention. 



   Fig. 1 représente un dispositif de serrage à vis, vu de face.

   Sur le   dessin, A   désigne le corps du fût muni, à son extrémité ouverte, d'un bourrelet périphérique b sur lequel s'ap- plique le bord recourbé c du couvercle avec interposition d'une garniture compressible e. La fixation du couvercle est réalisée ps le serrage du carcan f, de section semi-circulaire ou arquée, qui embrasse le bourrelet et le rebord c. 



   Dans la forme d'exécution suivant les Figs. 1 et 2, les extrémités du carcan sont munies de pattes soudées g, h formées de morceaux de tôle qui sont recourbés autour de la vis i et présentent des encoches désignées respectivement par g' et h'. 



  Dans l'encoche g2 est logé   l'écrou   qui est soudé à la patte g, tandis que dans l'encoche h' est logé le   collet .1   solidaire de la vis   1.   



   On comprend aisément que le serrage et le desserrage d la vis produisent respectivement le serrage du couvercle par le carcan, ou la libération du couvercle, et que dans ce dernier cas le dégagement de la vis de   l'écrou   est possible sans que la chute et la perte de l'une ou l'autre pièce du dispositif soit craindre. 



   Dans l'exemple représenté aux Figs. 3 et   4,   les pattes g, h ont la forme de goussets percés chacun d'un trou cylindrique dans lequel est emboîté un écrou pivotant m, n. Une   vis l   à filet de pas inverses (droit et gauche) est engagée dans les écrous et permet de rapprocher ou d'éloigner les pattes g, h. Les écrous m, n sont munis de collets m', n' qui les retiennent dans les gousse La longueur de le   vis est   déterminée de façon que le carcan puisse être enlevé sans que la vis soit dégagée des écrous et si

   Le dispositif des Figs. 1 et 2 est placé extérieurement et laisse libre la face supérieure du couvercle du fût,tandis que le dispositif des Figs. 3 et 4 se place dans le creux du cou- vercle et ne risque pas d'être accroché ou détérioré au cours des manipulations. 



   REVENDICATIONS 
1.- Dispositif de serrage des carcans de fûts métallique à couvercle amovible, avec vis de serrage, caractérisé en ce que la vis et son écrou sont logés dans des pattes du carcan de ma- nière à y rester emprisonnés lors de l'enlèvement du couvercle. 



   2. - Forme d'exécution du dispositif, suivant la reven- dication l, caractérisé en ce que les pattes prévues aux extré- mités du carcan sont pourvues d'encoches dans l'une desquelles est logé l'écrou, fixé en place par une soudure, l'autre encoche ser- vant de logèrent à un collier solidaire de la vis de serrage. 



   3. - Forme d'exécution du dispositif suivant la reven- dication 1, caractérisé en ce que les pattes prévues aux extré- mités du carcan sont percées de trous circulaires dans lesquels sor logés des écrous cylindriques traversés chacun par une partie   d'une   vis à filets droit et gauche, les écrous étant munis de collets de retenue.

  Improvements to metal drums with removable cover
This invention relates to metal drums provided with a removable cover which is fixed to the body of the drum by means of a yoke which embraces and clamps together the peripheral bead of the drum and the rim of the cover.



   Various devices have been proposed for tightening these shackles. The devices which form the subject of the present invention are designed so as to produce the tightening of the yoke by means of a screw and differ from known screw devices by the fact that the screw and its nut are housed in legs of the yoke so that it cannot fall and get lost when removing the cover.



   The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the device according to the invention.



   Fig. 1 shows a screw clamping device, seen from the front.

   In the drawing, A designates the body of the barrel provided, at its open end, with a peripheral bead b on which the curved edge c of the cover is applied with the interposition of a compressible gasket e. The cover is fixed by the tightening of the yoke f, of semi-circular or arcuate section, which embraces the bead and the rim c.



   In the embodiment according to Figs. 1 and 2, the ends of the yoke are provided with welded tabs g, h formed of pieces of sheet metal which are bent around the screw i and have notches designated respectively by g 'and h'.



  In the notch g2 is housed the nut which is welded to the tab g, while in the notch h 'is housed the collar .1 integral with the screw 1.



   It is easily understood that the tightening and loosening of the screw produce respectively the tightening of the cover by the yoke, or the release of the cover, and that in the latter case the release of the screw from the nut is possible without the fall and the loss of one or another part of the device is to be feared.



   In the example shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the tabs g, h have the form of gussets each pierced with a cylindrical hole in which is fitted a swivel nut m, n. A screw l with reverse thread (right and left) is engaged in the nuts and allows the legs g, h to be brought together or away. The nuts m, n are fitted with collars m ', n' which retain them in the pods The length of the screw is determined so that the yoke can be removed without the screw being released from the nuts and if

   CLAIMS
1.- Device for clamping the shackles of metal drums with removable cover, with clamping screw, characterized in that the screw and its nut are housed in the legs of the yoke so as to remain trapped there during the removal of the lid.



   2. - An embodiment of the device, according to claim 1, characterized in that the tabs provided at the ends of the yoke are provided with notches in one of which is housed the nut, fixed in place by. one weld, the other notch serving to accommodate a collar secured to the tightening screw.



   3. - An embodiment of the device according to claim 1, characterized in that the tabs provided at the ends of the yoke are pierced with circular holes in which are housed cylindrical nuts each traversed by a part of a screw. with right and left threads, the nuts being fitted with retaining collars.
