 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

   Ainsi qu'on le voit sur la figure 1, à l'intérieur du tube a d'un échangeur de chaleur parcouru intérieurement par un fluide, de préférence gazeux, qui entre dans le sens de la flèche A, on dispose, conformément à l'invention un corps solide b plein ou creux, dont la superficie présente des ondulations dissymétriques, et a-périodiques de préférence, qui ont pour effet de provoquer des changements de direction, comme le montrent les flèches B, dans l'écoulement de la veine gazeuse intérieure;

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

  DEVIATORS FOR INTERIOR OF TUBES
André HUET HEAT EXCHANGERS
To improve the heat exchange between two fluids, one of which circulates inside the tubes and the other outside the tubes of a heat exchanger, it is known that it is advisable to create changes in the circulation of the external fluid. direction, or variations in pressure and speed. Various devices have already been proposed for this purpose by the Applicant. In the particular case where the fluid which circulates inside the tubes is a gas, it is also advisable to seek to cause in this fluid the effects indicated above.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   The Applicant has already proposed in a prior patent to arrange for this purpose inside the tube of truncated cones forming with the wall of the tube kinds of convergent-divergent, which generate changes in speed and pressure in the circulating fluid. inside the tubes.

   According to the present invention, in the heat exchanger tubes there are provided deflector devices consisting of solid bodies or strips of strip which are corrugated, preferably asymmetrically so as to cause in the circulation of the fluid the desired beats, changes in circulation, variations in speed and pressure.

   The description which will follow, with reference to the appended drawings given by way of example, will make it clear how the invention can be implemented.

   Fig.l shows, in section, a heat exchanger tube inside which there is disposed a solid diverter body according to the invention.

   Fig. 2 is a plan view of a deflector body formed by two strips of strip applied one against the other, after having been asymmetrically curled.

   Fig. 3 is a plan view of the device in FIG. 2.

   Fig.4 shows, in section, a device similar to that of Figures 2 and 3, but with symmetrical corrugations, mounted inside a heat exchanger tube.

   FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the device of FIG. 4 constituted by two strips of strip

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 which was then subjected to a helical torsion to improve the effects to be obtained.

   As seen in Figure 1, inside the tube a of a heat exchanger internally traversed by a fluid, preferably gaseous, which enters in the direction of arrow A, there is, in accordance with l 'invention a solid body b full or hollow, the surface of which presents asymmetric undulations, and preferably a-periodic, which have the effect of causing changes of direction, as shown by arrows B, in the flow of the vein carbonated interior;

In addition, the variable distances which separate the internal wall of the tube a and the external surface of the diverter body b generate variations in the section offered to the passage of the fluid, variations in section which, sometimes decreasing, sometimes increasing. increasing, and this in an a-periodic manner, cause 'in the fluid circulating inside the tube, the pressure and speed variations desired to improve the heat exchange with the fluid circulating outside the tube.

   In the case shown in the drawing, where the internal fluid A heats up as it travels through the tube of the changer a, it is necessary to provide for the body b an average section which generally decreases in the direction of the flow of the fluid. Indeed, the latter expanding under the effect of the increase in temperature, it is necessary that the passage left to the fluid between the body b and the internal wall of the tube a goes by increasing from the left to the right of the figure.

   A particularly simple embodiment

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 of the diverter device is shown in Figures 2 and 3.

   According to this embodiment, two strips of strip ± and d are warped, or made sinuous, asymmetrically and preferably a-periodic, as seen in fig. 2, and assembled by welding, for example at e and in f. The assembly, which retains a prismatic shape, is then placed, as can be seen in FIG. 4, inside the tube a where it has the effect of causing the same effects in the circulation of the fluid as above. The diverter c-d shown in fig. 4 is, unlike that of Figures 2 and 3, symmetrical undulations with respect to the axis of the figure.

   To reinforce the desired action on the internal fluid A, the two strips of strip being assembled as shown in Figures 2 and 3, the assembly can still be subjected to a helical twisting effect, as shown. in perspective in FIG. 5, the pitch of the propeller being optionally variable from one end to the other of the deflector body. The circulation of the fluid inside the tube a is then subjected, in addition to the aforementioned effects, to a helical movement which ensures a particularly effective sweeping by the fluid of the internal wall - tube a through which the exchange of heat.
