 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

   La fig. 1 est une vue en plan d'un cavalier conforme à l'invention et introduit dans un   clicné ;
La fig. 2 est une vue de profil du cavalier de la fig. 1, le cliché étant coupé ;
Les fig. 3 et 4 représentent deux formes de réali- sation   différantes   d'un cavalier suivant l'invention et muni de plusieurs pieds ;
La fig. 5 représente une partie d'un cliché vu à plus-petite échelle et muni de plusieurs cavaliers conformes à l'invention et montés sur le dit cliché ;
La fig. 6 est une coupe du cliché de la fig. 5 ;

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

  Metal foil cliché jumper, especially for address clichés.

   To identify the printing clichés, in particular the address clichés and to control the press when the clichés are passed, the address clichés are provided with identification or registration jumpers which must be removable and transposable. The riders have feet which are gripped by two projections of the cliché. In the address plates whose longitudinal sides are bent to form guide strips, introduction slots are provided on the edge, the edges of which are transverse.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 dirty form the projections between which the feet of the riders are engaged. To ensure the riders the necessary firm seat, they have already been made with a double wall and provided with springs, arranged between the walls and which embrace the projections of the clichés.

   However, the manufacture of such jumpers is relatively expensive. The feet of the riders have already been split, with a view to forming elastic notches, and provided with protrusions' stopping the branches thus formed. When the stop protrusions are near the area where the jumper foot connects to the main part of the jumper, the elasticity is only very low. When placing the stop projections at the end of the rider's feet; it becomes necessary to provide the cliché with auxiliary fixing means which cooperate with the stop projections. It is true that the elastic action is then sufficient, but it is necessary that the images include auxiliary fixing means.

   The object of the present invention is to produce a rider of very simple construction which, without any auxiliary fixing means on the rider or on the cliché, is firmly mounted on the cliché by means of elastic stop projections. According to the invention, this object is achieved by virtue of the fact that the foot is constituted by an elastic hook, the end of which is established in the form of a stop notch for one of the projections of the cliché. In order to obtain as effective an elasticity as possible, the hook has, in accordance with another characteristic of the invention, a rectangular cross section having substantially the same dimensions over the entire length of said hook.

   The cross section of the hook can also be adapted to the forces by a conformation of the hook such that this cross section decreases towards the end of the latter.

   According to the invention, the counter-stop of the foot of the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 valier can be provided either on the same foot, or on another rider's foot, in the case of a rider comprising several feet.

   In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the crocnet is constituted by an eyelet formed by stamping, an eyelet which, at one of its connection points, is slit obliquely to form a safety device opposing the bending towards. outside.

   The invention is shown in the form of several examples in the accompanying drawing in which.

   Fig. 1 is a plan view of a jumper according to the invention and introduced into a click;
Fig. 2 is a side view of the jumper of FIG. 1, the image being cut;
Figs. 3 and 4 show two different embodiments of a jumper according to the invention and provided with several feet;
Fig. 5 shows part of a photograph seen on a smaller scale and provided with several jumpers in accordance with the invention and mounted on said photograph;
Fig. 6 is a section of the photograph of FIG. 5;
Fig. 7, finally, is a view, similar to FIG. 1, of a preferred embodiment of a jumper.

   The address plate 1 shown in the drawing comprises longitudinal sides which are folded over to constitute guide strips 2. Slots are provided in the edge of the guide strips for the introduction of jumpers consisting of spring steel, brass, or some other elastic material. The jumper 3 shown in FIG. 1 comprises a foot 4 in the form of a hook and obtained by stamping, the end of which is organized to constitute a stop notch for the transverse edge 6 of the insertion slot, which edge constitutes one of the retaining projections. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the stopper consists of

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 by removing the outer edge of the end of the hook in combination with the stop edge 7 of the jumper.

   It is obvious that the end of the hook could simultaneously form a stop edge for the edge of the cliché. On the side opposite the end of the hook, the foot 4 retracts slightly so as to form an oord for the other transverse edge 8 of the slot for introducing the cliché. Since the rider's foot is flexible over almost its entire length due to its hook shape, the elastic holding effect is particularly effective.

   The jumpers shown in fig. 3 and 4 are of the multi-legged type. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the foot 9 is organized according to the embodiment of FIG. 1, with the difference, however, that it does not form a stop projection for the other edge 10 of one of the introduction slots. The foot 11 of the rider is not established to spring but it forms the counter stop for the transverse edge 12 of its insertion slot.

   In the embodiment of FIG. 4, the two feet 13 and 14 are made in the form of a crocnet, each of the hooks then forming one of the two end stops which cooperate with the transverse edges of the slots for introducing the click. fig. 7 shows a rider whose foot is embossed in the shape of a crocnet, the eyelet already formed being - however, split oolically at 16 so that the hook cannot open outwards, in the main plane.

   To obtain an elasticity as official as possible, the crocnet-shaped part of the rider's foot may have a substantially constant cross section over its entire length, but it may also, in view of the substantially uniform distribution of the rider's foot. the elastic force decreases towards its extremity.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

   Figs. 5 and 6 show a picture in which are introduced several jumpers of the type established according to FIGS. 1 and 2.

   The invention is not limited to the embodiments described above and shown in the accompanying drawing, which embodiments are to be considered only as examples.
