 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

  "Machine to regenerate the meadows".

   The present invention relates to a simple agricultural machine intended particularly for the regeneration of meadows. In principle, this machine consists of a metal frame comprising, at the front, a cutting blade followed by a spreader bar which itself precedes two rows of coulters. The cutting blade arranged at the front of the chassis has, in plan, the profile of a V with widely open branches, the top of the V being oriented towards the rear of the machine.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   The spreader bar, placed somewhat behind the cutting blade and made of a flat iron. Is placed on the field and also has the shape of a V, but the top of which is directed forward. The coulters or cutting blades are placed behind the spreader blade in two alternate rows, the assembly is carried by two wheels arranged towards the rear of the machine and the frame carrying the coulters can be raised at will, by means of 'an appropriate mechanism. At the front part, the side members constituting the frame of the machine, are placed removable pads which are used only during transport and movement from and to the place of use.

   The operation of this meadow regenerating machine is as follows: when it is at work, the coulters are lowered so that they penetrate a few centimeters into the meadow soil; With the machine wheels raised by lowering the coulters and the shoes removed, the machine frame is in direct contact with the ground, as are the cutting blade and the spreader bar. The machine is towed in the same way as a harrow, either by animal traction or by mechanical traction.

   The coupling hooks, specially adapted for the type of traction envisaged, are placed at the front of the machine. When the latter is dragged, at ground level, the cutting blade, placed at the front, cuts the molehills and other unevenness of the ground, while the spreader blade spreads the latter; coulters engaged a few centimeters in the ground, perform surface plowing and provide the meadows with the aeration necessary for the development of the grasses that compose them.

   An embodiment, given as an example

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 non-limiting, is shown in the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a perspective view of the assembly of the meadow regenerating machine; Figure 2 is a side elevational view of the same machine in its transport position; FIG. 3 is an identical view of the machine in the working position.

   The machine frame is made up of two rails 1 and 2 made, for example, in U-iron, the opening of the latter facing outwards. At the front of these side members are placed the coupling hooks 3 and 3 'which are used in the case of animal traction, the hooks 4 and 4', also placed in front of the side members but somewhat set back of the first, are specially designed for mechanical traction. Near these hooks and at the lower part of the frame are provided the runners 5 and 5 ', each consisting of a vertical metal bar detachably attached to the. said, frame and provided at their lower part with a flat iron sole.

   The widely open V-shaped cutting blade 6, the top of which is directed towards the rear, is fixed to the inner part of the frame so that it skims the ground when the machine is in the working position. The spreader bar 7, also fixed in the manner of a spacer between the two side members, is made of flat iron placed on the field and bent in the shape of a V whose top is directed in the direction opposite to that of the cutting blade. . At the level of the spreader blade and behind it, the side members are doubled, in the direction of the height, by a section 8 and 8 'made of U-iron of substantially identical section and dimension

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 to those of the spar itself.

   To the upper part of these sections 8 and 8 are fixed the bushes 9 and 9 which support the axle 10, starting from the two wheels 11 and 111 and a frame, consisting of two metal cross members, supporting the eleven coulters. arranged alternately in two rows, the first comprising five coulters and the second six.

   By a lever 13, rigidly fixed to the axle 10 and guided by a sector 14 fixed to the chassis. The axle 10 can be pivoted so as to raise the wheels and lower the chassis of the machine to the ground; this position the coulters penetrate a few centimeters into the ground, the depth of penetration of said coulters is adjustable by the fact that each of these is clamped in a yoke 15 fixed to the support crossbars and provided with a screw of Tightening.
