<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

"Perfected loop"
The present invention relates to a buckle intended more particularly for use on belts, ribbons, thongs, etc., whatever the use for which this belt or the like is intended.
It is remarkable, in particular, in that it comprises two elements articulated one on the other, one of these elements having the form of a lever, one of the ends of which is permanently connected to one of the ends of the belt or the like, while the other end of said lever comprises a clamping surface cooperating with a corresponding surface provided on the aforementioned second element and intended to trap the free end of the belt or the like.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the aforementioned second element consists of a stirrup, a collar or the like.
The aforementioned clamping surfaces have ridges or the like to help prevent unwanted slippage of the belt or the like.

In the accompanying drawing, given solely by way of example: FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a buckle according to the invention with its belt; fig. 2 shows such a loop seen in profile; fig. 3 is a plan view.
According to this example, the loop comprises two articulated elements 1 and 2. Element 1 has substantially the shape of a Z, a W or a V, on which is articulated at 3 (therefore in the central part) , item 2. In the example in the drawing, the lever has the shape of a W.
This first element 1 therefore forms a lever, the end 4 of which preferably comprises two openings 5, 5 'with a solid part 5 ", to which is fixed the end of a belt 10 or the like which is at This belt has been shown in the drawing, in figure 1.
The opposite end 6 of the lever 1 comprises at 7 a ridged surface for example, cooperating with a corresponding surface 8 provided on the collar 2.
This same end 6 can be provided with bputona or with horns 9 allowing or facilitating the tightening and loosening of the marigold.
The assembly can, of course, be made of sheet metal, plastic, etc.
The operation of the loop is very simple. The strap 10 has one end fixed to the solid part 5 "provided between the openings 5 and 5 '. Its free end passes through the stirrup 2 between the surfaces 7 and 8, and leaves the loop on the side of the element. 6. When this end of the belt is pulled or when the horns 9 are lowered, the surface 7 is engaged to clamp the belt or the like against the surface 8 of the collar 2. under tension of the belt or the like. is greater, the more powerful the tightening.

The free part of the belt located beyond the element 6 can be folded backwards between the lugs 9 and pass through the hole 5 '. of course, the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment shown and described which has been given only by way of example.
