 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

  Pourer for bottles.

   In order to prevent a drop of liquid from falling on the tablecloth or flowing along the bottle, when after having poured part of the liquid this bottle is straightened, it has already been proposed to place in the neck a " stopper "clean to retain the drop, but known devices of this type have the drawback of greatly reducing the section of free passage through the neck so that the possible flow when filling a whole Earth is too low.

   In addition, these pouring stoppers must have a diameter appropriate to that of the necks in which it does not act to fit them and are therefore not suitable for all bottles.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   According to the present invention, these drawbacks are avoided by virtue of the arrangement of a pourer whose internal free section is equal to or approximately equal to that of the neck. This pourer is held on the neck, preferably by elastic pressure by means of springs which connect it to a collar removably enclosing the neck.

   The seal between this pourer and the bottle is then sealed by means of a washer of rubber or other compressible material interposed between the base of the pourer and the top of the neck. This @ is preferably shaped so as to be able to fit over necks of different diameters.

   According to one variant, the pourer is held in place by means of a simple rubber sleeve fixed around its base and which covers the neck of the bottle while deforming elastically. if one agrees to slightly reduce the free passage section, one can also obtain the watertight fixing of the pourer by means of a rubber sleeve surrounding its base and fitting with it inside the neck .

   By way of examples, the accompanying drawing shows several embodiments of the object of the invention.

   Fig. 1 is a half elevation, half vertical sectional view of a pourer attached to a bottle by means of a collar and springs.

   Figure 2 is a plan of the collar.

   FIG. 3 is a side view showing a variant of the fixing device.

   Figures 4 and 5 show in vertical section two variants of the pourer.

   In Figures 1 and 2, the pourer comprises a cup @ curved profile whose role is to return into the bottle

 lie on the pouring ridge and spill onto the web or slide off the outer wall of the bottle.

  The bottom of this cup is pierced with an opening 2 with a diameter approximately equal to that of the inside diameter of a normal neck 3. The upper edge of this cup is curved outwards. Its lower edge is fixed by crimping inside a base 4, in the form of a hat, of a width such that it can fit freely on the necks. of the maximum expected diameter. A cork or rubber washer 5 is placed inside the base 4 and is applied on top of the neck.

   The spout is fixed by means of an elastic clamp 6, C-shaped, the ends 7 of which are bent outwards, and which is connected to the base 4 by two coil springs 8 attached to lugs 9,10 formed on this base and on the collar.

   The length of these springs is such that they are stretched when the collar 6 is engaged under the bead 11 of the neck as shown in figure 1, and thus ensure the compression of the washer between the cup. 1 and goulot.

   The arrangement of the divergent ends 7 of the collar facilitates the engagement of the latter around the neck; also makes it possible to stretch the collar and to easily release it from the neck when it comes to removing the pourer.

   Fig. 3 shows that the helical coil tension springs 6 can be replaced by flattened coil springs 12, working in compression; each of these springs is arranged around two blades 13, 14 which are hooked one to the base 4, the other to the collar 6, and which can slide freely against one another. . The ends of the spring rest on shoulders 13a, 14a of the two blades and thus tend to clamp the base towards the collar.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

   According to the variant shown in FIG. 4, the lower edge of the cup 1 is embedded in a barley formed in the upper part of a rubber sleeve 15 of a diameter such that it applies around the neck 3 with sufficient tightening to ensure the fixing of the pourer and the required tightness. The elasticity of this sleeve allows it to adapt to necks of different diameters and profiles.

   The variant shown in fig. 5 also comprises a rubber sleeve 16 which surrounds the base of the cup 1, but this base then has the form of a frustoconical extension 17 of dimensions such that the assembly of the extension and of the sleeve can engage with each other. friction inside the neck. The thickness of these two members is relatively small so as not to significantly reduce the free section for the passage of the liquid. Their taper allows them to allow the adaptation of the pourer on necks of different diameters.

   Of course, the invention is not limited to the details of execution shown and includes the application of any suitable materials for making the various elements of the pourer.
