Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

  "Peigne." "

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

  "Comb." "
The present invention relates to a comb, more especially intended for maintaining the hair.

   The drawbacks of these combs lie in the fact that it is difficult to keep them in the hair. It has already been proposed for this purpose to design the teeth of these combs in a wavy form, but this arrangement cannot prevent these combs from coming off after a certain time.

   The object of the invention is to remedy these drawbacks.

   For this purpose, the teeth of said comb, made of a slightly flexible material, are mounted on the back of the comb so that two consecutive teeth are clamped against each other, a member being provided to separate them. one from the other.

   According to a preferred embodiment, the aforementioned member is constituted by a slide formed by two separate branches

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 by spacers, said spacers being placed so as to be able to engage between two teeth clamped against one another, a space being provided between these teeth, at the place where they are mounted in the back of the comb.

   Other details and features of the invention will emerge from the description of a comb according to the invention. This description is given by way of non-limiting example.

  The reference notations relate to the accompanying figures.

   Fig.l shows the comb according to the invention.

   Fig. 2 shows the comb fitted with the slide.

   Fig. 3 is a section in the plane of the slide.

   Fig.4 is a section along a generatrix parallel to the two branches of the slide.

   The comb, represented by these figures, is essentially constituted by a back 1, in which are mounted a series of teeth made of a fairly flexible material, such as, for example, scale, celluloid or a similar plastic material.

   These teeth are mounted in such a way that two consecutive teeth are kept in permanent contact with each other.

   Fig. 3 perfectly illustrates this arrangement where it can be seen how the tooth 2 is held against the tooth 3, and so on for each of the teeth of the following groups.

  On the back side of the comb, these teeth move apart to form cavities 4.

   To fix the comb in the hair, it suffices, after having lowered the slider 5 a little, to bring it upwards, so that the spacers 6 come to be housed in the cavities 4 against the back of the comb. This slide follows the curvature of the comb and is formed by two branches 7 and 8 interconnected by the spacers 6. As long as these spacers remain in the cavities 4, the teeth 2 and 3 and the teeth of each consecutive group remain tight. elastically

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 one against the other and by this very fact the comb will be maintained in the hair by the sole pressure of these teeth on the hair which is clamped together.

   To remove the comb, it suffices to lower the slide a few millimeters; teeth moving apart, it is easy to remove the comb.

   In order to allow the slide to move easily between the teeth of the comb, the spacers of this slide have semi-elliptical shapes, as can be seen from FIG. 4 attached.

   It is obvious that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment described above and that many modifications could be made to it, in particular as regards the shape, constitution and arrangement of the elements involved in its production.

   Claims.
