  DISPOSITIF POUR L'EVACUATION DE LA SEVE-ET DE L'AIR DES MAGASINS, SPEGIA-
LEMENT ,DES SILOS A FOURRAGE ,VERT. '

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

   REVENDICATIONS.

  DEVICE FOR THE EVACUATION OF SEA-AND AIR FROM STORES, SPEGIA-
LEMENT, FORAGE SILOS, GREEN. '
The invention relates to a device for the evacuation of sap and air from stores, especially silos for green fodder, for ensiling the green fodder and for extracting or reintroducing into the silo the pressure sap produced by the silo. silage, with all its nutritional values.

   In wooden silos, the clamping hoops are, according to the invention, formed by discharge pipes for the pressure sap and the air. The sap can also be evacuated through vertical tubes or channels.

  By these arrangements, the pressure sap can be separated at different heights of the silo without special installations being necessary.

   The uniform and progressive dehydration of the silo, during the compaction of the fodder, through the walls of the silo is thus ensured systematically, and it is even possible to accommodate a larger quantity of fodder. In this way, above all, the production of acetic acid in the sap is avoided, as the air (carbonic acid) is evacuated, and finally the complete development of the lactic acid bacteria present in the forage is obtained, which guarantees the production. preservative lactic acids and thus the complete preservation of the nutritive power of the silo continuum.

   In addition, by the presence of the evacuation devices, the internal pressure acting on the side walls of the silo is kept constant, thanks to the possibility of gas and liquid escape, which allows a considerable saving in building materials to be used. Gas and sap flow through valves in the exhaust ducts.

   In a usual method of construction of wooden silos, also applicable to high silos, the wall of the silo is formed by boards assembled by tenon and mortise, and fixed by clamping rings made up of hoops in round bar and tightening bolts, the assembly thus being perfectly airtight and watertight.

   Unlike this old process, these tightening hoops are,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 according to the invention, formed by tubular conduits communicating, preferably via a valve, for example a ball valve, with the main conduit.

   By this arrangement it is obtained that the pressure sap produced during ensiling can be spread at any height and be directed to the desired place of use.

   It is known that the inherent pressure of the pile of fodder in high silos guarantees the good preservation of the continuous, the large quantity of pressure sap expelled by this inherent pressure having to be removed in order to guarantee the good preservation of the feed. feed. The sap can be reintroduced into the silo in its natural state and with all its nutritional power.

   The object of the present invention is applicable to silos of great height of any kind, provided that the condition is fulfilled that the pressure sap and the gases produced during silage can escape through organs of silage. 'evacuation with or without valves or valves.

   By applying the original device of the invention, the internal pressure of the silo is neutralized at its walls, so that the construction of the silo can be very light, which results in a great saving in construction materials.

   The accompanying drawings show schematically a non-limiting exemplary embodiment of the subject of the present invention.

   Figure 1 is an elevational view in partial longitudinal section of a high-rise hollow brick silo.

   Figure 2 is a section taken along the line A-A of Figure 1.

   FIG. 3 is a perspective view schematically showing the method of constructing a silo wall using hollow bricks.

   Figure 4 is a perspective view of two hollow bricks of the inner layer of a silo wall.

   FIG. 5 shows in section a valve for evacuating the sap and the air according to the invention.

   FIG. 6 is a front view of the flap of this valve.

   Figure 7 is a perspective view of the lower part of a silo, showing the two layers of brick for the wall and the bottom of the silo.

   Figures 1, 2, 3 and 7 show the silo wall. This wall comprises two layers of hard fired bricks, an outer wall 1 formed of perforated radial fired bricks, and an inner wall 2 formed of hollow or perforated bricks anti-acid in special Klinker as shown schematically in Figures 2, 3 and 7. The bricks perforated or hollow in special Klinker of the inner wall have two or more, or a single cylindrical hollow chamber, or rectangular channels. The bricks of the inner wall are offset with respect to each other so that the left cylindrical hollow chamber of the overlying brick faces the right hollow chamber of the underlying brick, or vice versa. .

   In this way hollow chambers or continuous hollow channels 3 are obtained which extend from top to bottom in the wall and which open out to the bottom plate 10 of the silo (FIG. 7).

   According to the invention, it is interposed from distance to distance, for example every 50 cm. in the horizontal direction and in the vertical direction, hollow bricks comprising a notch or a cutout for the evacuation valve shown schematically in Figures 4 and 5.

   The discharge valve according to Figure 5 will preferably be made of an acid resistant material. The valve is formed by a hollow body 6, its wall facing the interior of the silo comprising orifices 9. On the opposite side, which extends into the cylindrical hollow chamber or the rectangular channel of the brick, is arranged a journal 8 taking support in

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

   @ notches provided in the side walls of the valve; this journal 8 passes through the valve flap 1 which is therefore suspended and can rotate in the notches of the side walls of the valve. The valve 7 has a reinforced part towards its lower edge which increases the weight of this part.

   As soon as an overpressure is created in the silo, by the accumulation of sap, air and fermentation gases, and also by the inherent pressure of the piled up fodder, the mixture of sap-air = gas .cross the orifices 9, enter the valve body 6, apply the valve 2 and open this valve until the pressure is balanced, the valve valve 1 then falling by its own weight into the hollow body of the valve and again closing off access to hollow channel 3. When valve flap 2 is opened, the sap-air-gas mixture from the hollow valve body passes into channel 3, where the sap separates from it. air and gases.

   The sap flows downward on the bottom plate 10 and is collected in the sap tank 11, while the air-gas mixture rises in the channel. 2. to then escape to the silo roof.

   The perforated bricks 2 can also be made so that the housing for the discharge valve is formed in advance by a notch or a cutout, as well as for the notches supporting the journal of the valve flap, which can also be planned in advance. By these arrangements, the equipment of the silo with the device for evacuating the characteristic sap-air-gas mixture according to the invention is made very economical.

   It goes without saying that the invention does not remain limited to the example described and illustrated, and that it can equally well be applied to silos of another construction. In stone or brick silos it is not only possible to use pipes, but also to provide conduits or evacuation channels in the walls of the silo. The object of the invention can also and very advantageously be applied to other installations such as for example condensation towers, grain silos, etc. In addition, it is not necessary that, as described above and illustrated in the drawing, the exhaust ducts be arranged horizontally and provided with a duct with a downward exhaust valve.

   The wall of the silo can, independently of its material of construction, be made so as to abandon the arrangement of a horizontal duct, and to include only one individual valve for each exhaust duct disposed vertically.

   It is important that the air-gas mixture is discharged downwards through pipes, conduits, channels or any discharge elements arranged throughout the height, inside or outside the silo.

   It is also possible to provide a valve pipe arranged in the center of the silo for the evacuation of the sap and the air.
