Ce procède est essentiellement caractérisé par le fait qu'il consiste à piquer à plat une bande d'enrobage en crêpe, cuir, caoutchoue ou autre matière appropriée sur la tige, le long d'un tracé préalablement effectué sur la tige; à parer la tige du côté fleura à monter la tige sur fonce; à retourner la bande d'enrobage vers le haut de la tige; à enduire de colle la surface parée: à appliquer un talon et une semelle en boute ma- tière appropriée qui ont été préalablement encollés; à encoller la surface interne de la'bande d'enrobage ainsi que les parois latérales du talon et de la semelle, à rabattre la bande d'enrobage sur le tout;
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SOLES FOR SHOES.
The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing Barns] ...
. extremely flexible and durable for shoes of all kinds.
This process is essentially characterized by the fact that it consists in stitching a strip of crepe, leather, rubber or other suitable material covering flat onto the upper, along a path previously made on the upper; to trim the stem from the flowered side to mount the stem on dark; turning the coating strip up the rod; coating the trimmed surface with glue; applying a heel and a suitable bottle sole which have been previously glued; in gluing the internal surface of the coating strip as well as the side walls of the heel and of the sole, in folding the coating strip over the whole;
and to refresh 'the overflowing part of the. wrapping tape leaving the front part and; the rear part has two projections which are folded back under the sole and thinned, the different phases of the process being carried out by hand or by means of suitable machines.
The invention also relates, as new industrial products, to shoes provided with soles manufactured in accordance with the above process.
Other characteristics and advantages of the present invention will emerge during the description which will be given hereinafter with reference to the appended drawings which represent ;, diagrammatically and simply by way of example,: The various phases of the manufacturing process according to the invention,
On these drawings:
Figure 1 is an elevational view of a coating pattern.
The rod 2 is a plan view of a rod before it is provided with its coating strip.
Fig 3 is a perspective view of the rod on which is

stitched the coating.
Figs. 4, 5 and 6 are views in elevation showing the different phases of the assembly of the sole according to the invention.
In accordance with the invention, a line 2, represented in phantom in FIG. 2, corresponding to the upper edge of a coating consisting of "a strip of crepe, leather, rubber, is made on each rod 1 to be mounted. or any other suitable material which is cut in advance by means of a template which preferably has the shape of that shown in FIG. 1. This template in fact makes it possible to carry out a coating of a single piece and the netting to the cut with a minimum of waste.
In order to facilitate assembly and gluing and to avoid carding on the form, the edge of the stem 1 is trimmed on the flower side as shown schematically by hatching 4. The coating µ is then stitched flat on the rod 1 of the trace 2 previously drawn on the rod.
After having returned the coating 2 upwards as shown in FIG. 4, the rod 1 is mounted to the seed or welded to an òrne µ either by hand or by machine.
After having mounted the rod in this way, the trimmed or carded surface of the rod is coated with glue. Likewise, a heel 1 made of cork, wood or any other suitable material is coated with glue as well as a sole 8 made of crepe, leather, rubber or any other suitable material which is applied in place as well as the heel, such as this is shown in figure 5.
After these operations, the internal surface of the coating is coated with glue as well as the side walls of the heel 7 and of the sole 8 on which the coating is folded down,
The projecting part of the coating is refreshed with the exception of two flaps, one 5a at the front end ;, the other b at the rear end which are folded down, thinned and glued to the sole 8 in order to '' ensure perfect adhesion.
With the process according to the invention which has just been described, a very light shoe is obtained which combines the highest degree of flexibility with absolute strength, once the assembly is complete, given that the various juxtaposed parts become one.
In addition, the sole obtained offers the advantage of being unbreakable and invertable; of a perfect finish; extremely simple and quick to manufacture, requiring no qualified personnel and consequently having the lowest manufacturing cost.
It goes without saying that the invention has been described and shown for purely explanatory and in no way limiting and that any modification of detail can be made to it without departing from the scope of the invention.
