Fig. 1 est une vue en élévation
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

NEW MACHINE INTENDED FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF PRAIRIES AND ORCHARDS.
The object of the present invention is to provide an improvement to the debossing and harrowing machine of patent N 488,336, in the sense that it is now combined with a regenerating device, that is to say intended to perform in the soil a scraping which aerates it and thus stimulates the growth of the pasture.
According to this invention, in bearings fixed on a rear extension of the machine can pivot a tube carrying teeth which are kept in an adjustable manner constantly in contact with the ground by a spring connecting this tube to the frame of the machine.
The tube is advantageously made integral with a lever ,,, the operation of which makes it possible to raise the tube carrying the tines above the ground with a view to cleaning them, that is to say to rid them of grass $ small branches., Etc. , which they could have trained.
In addition, the teeth., Which pass diametrically through the carrier tube, are profiled at their upper part in the form of a hook, the end of which has a re-entrant curve, so as to grip the outer surface of the tube. '' '
The drawing appended to this brief gives ,. only by way of example, a partial view of a machine according to patent N 488,336, to which a regenerating device is applied. In this drawings
Fig. 1 is an elevation view
Fig. 2 is a plan view, corresponding. ,, and
Fig. 3 is a view in elevation on a larger scale of one of the teeth of the regenerator.
In the embodiment shown in the drawing., The side members 1 of the frame of the machine are extended by U irons 30, each terminating in a welded sleeve 31. It is understood that the side members
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
1 and the U irons 30 could be one piece and the bushes 31 could be replaced by welded or bolted bearings of any suitable type. @
In the sockets 31 is carried so as to be able to rotate around its axis a tube 32, to which is welded towards its middle an arm 33 projecting upwards.
On this arm are fixed parallel vertical plates 34 supporting a horizontal axis 35, to which is attached a coil spring 36 acting in compression; it is fixed at its other end to an iron 39 bolted to the rear cross member 40. The pin 35 can be introduced into one or the other of the holes 37 drilled in the plates 34? . so as to be able to vary the inclination of the teeth 38 carried by the tube 32.
. These teeth 38 have the shape shown especially in Fig, 3; at their upper end, they form a loop 38a ending in a re-entrant part 38b. Each tooth crosses diametrically at an appropriate inclination the walls of the tube 32, its loop 38a being hammered until it embraces the circumference of the tube.
The teeth 38 thus exhibit a certain elasticity.
The spring 36 tends to force the teeth 38 to remain in constant contact with the ground. These teeth inevitably catch grasses, small branches, etc .; it is therefore useful to clean them.
For this purpose, the arm 33 is extended by a lever 41, which is tilted in the direction of the arrow X to raise the teeth rearward, which allows them to be cleaned while walking.
The regenerator device which has just been described applies especially to the machine of patent N 488,336, but with suitable modifications., It could advantageously be mounted on cutters of a different type.
