METIER A FILER.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

SPINNING TRADE.
The present invention relates to a spinning machine in which at least one wick or wound coil is unwound to pass over a food cylinder against which it is clamped by a pressure roller capable of adjustment, then go to a spindle arranged on a bench called "pin bench" and driven by a rotational movement, passing in particular through a wire guide which rotates around said spindle at a speed different from that of this spindle and which is mounted on a bench called "bench to wire guide ", the aforesaid" pin bed "and" wire guide bed "having, with respect to each other and along the axis of the same spindle, two movements, one of which periodically changes from sense and is caused by a device called "up and down" while the other is constant.
The currently known spinning looms, which are rewinding looms or continuous looms, have noticeable drawbacks.
In spinning-winding looms, the transfer of the wick and the winding take place in successive and periodic phases to the detriment of production capacity. In addition, these trades require the training of "referrals" and are, therefore, very bulky. On the other hand, in continuous spinning machines, the drawing of the wicks is carried out completely before twisting and winding. Any continuous loom includes, for this purpose, a stretching system which has the disadvantage of making the bits fragile.
To obviate this fragility while carrying out a suitable stretching, it is essential either to support and guide the wicks or strands, or to operate a provisional twist or false twist thereof during their passage through the stretching system. Support and guidance are provided by the use of devices with funnels, straps, aprons, etc .; these devices complicate the organization of professions. False torsion is carried out using so-called "false torsion" tubes or rotating stretching cylinders; this operation results in prejudicial fatigue and fragility of the wire. In addition, the winding system by cur-

Free sores give the wire twisting variations which are also detrimental.
The object of the present invention is to remedy the drawbacks mentioned.
To this end, in the new spinning machine, the aforementioned feed cylinder is brought into action by a speed regulating device, by a drive shaft which also controls the aforementioned "up and down" device. , a system driving at a speed dependent on that of said motor shaft and on the state of the coil being formed on the aforementioned spindle, the ring gear of a differential of which a sun gear is wedged on the layer shaft of this spindle while that the other planetary transmits the movement to the yarn guide already mentioned and that a device for regulating the torsion is placed between the food cylinder and the yarn guide in question, on the passage of the rod in question which, consequently , is then stretched, twisted and returned simultaneously.
In an advantageous embodiment of the object of the invention, the aforementioned layer shaft is rotated by an electric motor with adjustable speed, the crown drive system. aforesaid being constituted by a direct current motor, the operation of which is controlled by an electronic device subjected to the stresses, on the one hand, of the aforementioned "raising and lowering" device and, on the other hand, of a speed regulation of an electric motor driving the above-mentioned motor shaft.
Other details and features of the invention will emerge from the description of a spinning machine, given below by way of non-limiting example and with reference to the accompanying drawing.
The figure schematically indicates an embodiment of the arrangements according to the invention.
This is a spinning machine in which at least one wound wick or rod 1 is unwound to pass over a food cylinder 2 and then go to a spindle 4 animated by a rotational movement, where it arrives in the form of wire. It should be observed that the loom according to the invention generally comprises a series of parallel spindles 4, arranged along at least one aligned and around each of which a wick or coil 1 transformed into a wire is wound. Each wick or coil 1 is clamped against the food cylinder 2 by a pressure roller 3 capable of adjustment; is then twisted by going to a corresponding pin 4. The pins 4 are each driven by a rotational movement and are arranged on a bench 5 called a "pin bench".
Each coil 1 transformed into a wire is fed back due to its passage through a wire guide 6 which rotates around the corresponding spindle 4 at a speed different from that of this spindle. In a given time, the length of wire wound on a spindle 4 is greater than the length of rod passing through the food cylinder 2; hence the stretching. The son guides 6 are mounted on a bench 7 called "son guide bench". The "pin bed" 5 and "wire guide bed" 7 have, relative to each other and in the direction of the axes of the pins 4, movements that change direction periodically. These movements are caused by a so-called "up and down" device 8 and help to ensure the winding of the wires on the pins 4.
In the embodiment shown in the drawing, the "up and down" device 8 imparts, for example to the "wire guide bed" 7, an alternating movement in the direction of the axes of the pins 4 while the Gradual descent of the "pin bank" 5 is ensured by means of gears 40.
According to the invention, the food cylinder 2 is set, at the intervention of a speed regulating apparatus 9, by a drive shaft 10 which also controls the "up and down" device 8. The latter is, for example, set in motion by the intervention of a cam 33 associated with a pinion 34 coupled to a screw 35 wedged on the motor shaft 10. Moreover, a system drives at a variable speed and dependent on that of the motor shaft 10 as well as the state of the coil 11 forming on
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the pins 4, the ring gear 12 of a differential 13. A sun gear 14 of this differential 13 is wedged on the layer shaft 15 of the pins 4 while the other sun gear 16, mounted freely on this shaft 15, transmits the movement , with the intervention of a shaft 36, to the wire guides 6.
The son guides 6 and the pins 4 are therefore with so-called "positive" control.
In addition, a torsion regulating device 17 is placed on the passage of each rod 1, between the corresponding yarn guide 6 and the food cylinder 2. This device 17 thus shares the length of the rod 1 worked in two parts. In the part between the feed cylinder 2 and the device 17, the base 1 is only subjected to an incomplete twist which can be adjusted, in order to allow it to be stretched appropriately. The twist becomes complete in the part between the device 17 and the yarn guide 6. Drawing and twisting are thus carried out simultaneously and continuously and definitively: the treatment of the coil 1 does not give rise to false twisting. nor to succession of operations to the detriment of the solidity of the finished product or the performance of the machine.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the object of the invention, in which, as is generally known, the turns of each coil 11 being formed on a spindle 4 are arranged in superimposed coniform layers, the course of the crown drive system 12 is influenced by the "up and down" device 8; the speed of this system is thus made dependent on the state of the coil 11 considered or, in other words, on the variation in diameter of the turns of wire.
The progressive descent of the coil, as it is formed, can be obtained by a known device, for example a snap.
It should be observed that if the "up and down" device 8 set the "pin bed" 7 in motion, the "wire guide bed" 8 would have to be moved. Moreover, the two movements considered could be printed on one of the aforementioned benches, the other bench being fixed.
Furthermore, the general organization of the spinning machine according to the invention is completed as follows. In the embodiment shown in the drawing, the layer shaft 15 of the pins 4 is rotated by an electric motor 20 at an adjustable speed. The drive system of the crown wheel 12 of the differential 13 is then formed by a direct current motor 21, the operation of which is controlled by an electronic device 22. On the one hand, the latter is influenced by the device. "up and down" device 8 to which it is connected, for example by a connecting rod 38. It is, on the other hand, requested by a regulating member 23 of the speed of an electric motor 24 which drives the motor. motor shaft 10. As for the torsion regulating device 17, it is a baffle capable of adjustment.
This baffle is, for example, made up of two parallel pins forming an orientable plane.
Moreover, in the new trade, each rod or wick 1 passes through an auxiliary yarn guide 32 arranged between the twist adjustment device 17 and the top of the corresponding spindle 4. According to the invention, the height positions of the auxiliary yarn guides 32 are subject to adjustment. This arrangement makes it possible to adjust the heights of the balloons of threads, that is to say to vary the tension of the threads and, consequently, the tightening or hardness of the spools 11.
In addition, there is also an advantage in fitting on each of the layer 15 and motor 10 shafts a tachometer 42 making it possible to control the rotational speeds of these shafts at any time.
+ + + Adjustment of the rate of the loom.
To adjust the rate of the loom, the following operations or maneuvers are carried out, if necessary.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The size or rate of the wick or coil to be worked being known and the rate of the finished yarn to be obtained being fixed, the extent of the drawing to be carried out is determined. The speed regulating device 9 is therefore acted upon by operating its flywheel 49 which, moving for example in front of a fixed index, can be graduated in stretch percentage.
The torsion and the production capacity are fixed according to the qualities of the material worked and the finished product. The speed of rotation to be printed on the spindles 4 is coated. It should be noted that this speed is given by the product of the torsion expressed in revolutions per meter by the production capacity expressed in meters per unit of time. Action is taken, as appropriate, on the flywheel 45 which makes it possible to adjust the speed of the layer shaft 15, that is to say of the spindles 4. This flywheel is advantageously graduated in number of spindle turns per unit of time, moving in front of a fixed index finger. The rate of the "raising and lowering" device 8 is brought into line with the production capacity set by suitably operating the handwheel 46 which makes it possible to adjust this rate.
This flywheel 46 can thus be graduated in meters of wire produced per unit of time and move in front of a fixed index. It will be observed that the tachometers 42 arranged on the shafts 15 and 10 make it possible to control at any time, respectively the effective speed of the spindles and the effective production capacity; from these elements, one deduces the torsion actually carried out at the considered moment. Moreover, if the fixed production capacity seems too considerable by the observation of frequent breakage of threads or, conversely, if the production capacity seems likely to increase, we act on the flywheels 45 and 46 taking into account of the relation already mentioned which exists between: the speed of rotation of the spindles 4, the operated twist and the production capacity.
+ + + The above description indisputably establishes that the spinning loom according to the invention exhibits neither the drawbacks recognized in winding looms nor those inherent in continuous looms. Furthermore, the new loom has the advantage of being provided with yarn guides 6, the speed of rotation of which is not only a function of the speed of the spindles 4 but is also dependent on the variations in diameter of the coils 11 being formed, the winding speed being constant. Thanks to the differential 13 and to the drive system of the crown 12, which is dependent on the "up and down" device 8, the speed of the thread guides 6 is, at all times, automatically adjusted as appropriate.
It should be understood that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment described above and that many modifications can be made to it without departing from the scope of the present patent application.
One could, in particular, set in motion the "pin bench" to the intervention of the "raising and lowering" device, the wire guide bench then being susceptible to displacements caused by the photoelectric cell.
We could also print the movements considered to one of the aforementioned benches, the other bench being fixed.
One could, also, mount on the same bench, any number of pins placed in one or more aligned.
We could, again, arrange symmetrically back to back, on the same frame, two systems as described above and achieve a double-sided loom, single or double control.
It would also be possible to arrange two single or double-sided looms on either side of the same control system.
