SIGNET POUR LE REPERAGE DES PAGES D'UN LIVRE EN LECTURE.
Les systèmes employés à ce jour pour repèrer la page d'un livre en lecture offrent tous des inconvénients auxquels j'ai cherché à remédier.
Le nouveau signet que je présente comporte deux parties distinc- tes reliées entre elles par un lien quelconqueo
La première partie est une pince métallique faisant ressort, qui s'adapte à la-'couverture du livre ou si le livre est cartonné, à la page de garde ; cette pince métalliquepar sa forme se place à ras de la tranche su- périeure de la couverture ou de la feuille de garde et par conséquent ne dé- passe pas le format du livre; ceci est un avantage parce qu'il ne gêne pas, ne peut être accroché et de ce fait, se perdre.
Cette pièce métallique est faite. de manière à pouvoir être uti- lisée, avant son placement,comme coupe-papier., après cette opération on la place à l'endroit indiqué ci-dessus en ayant soin de la mettre le plus près du dos du livre, au pliant de la couverture où elle reste placée pendant la lecture du livrée
Cette pièce métallique est constituée d'une plaque de métal re- plié sur elle même et forme pince; dans son pli arrondi est prévu une peti- te ouverture ronde ou allongée suivant que l'on veut y introduire un cordon ou un ruban qui sert à relier la pièce métallique à la deuxième pièce du si- gneto
La deuxième pièce est constituée par un volet mobile attaché comme il est dit ci-dessus à la pièce métallique.
De cette façon,la pièce métallique mise en place,maintien en cet endroit le cordon ou le ruban et le volet étant mobile peut s'intercaler entre n'importe quelle page du livre; lorsque l'on ouvre le livre on retrouve

ainsi facilement la page ou se trouve le signet. -
On conçoit facilement l'utilisation de ce nouveau signet, mais ou son usage devient intéressant, c'est que sa formé même 'permet d'en faire un objet pouvant servir de cadeau utile,de souvenirs touristiques,folklo- riques, religieux, et publicitaire de premier ordre.
En effet la partie métallique extérieure peut recevoir une emprein- te artistique qui peut transformer ce simple objet en un bijou, même de prix; il en est de même du volet qui peut être traité de toute façon, enluminures à la main, impression de luxe, publicitaire, et être constitué en toute ma- tière.

Je revendique comme étant mon invention l'utilisation de moyens connus, utilisés à ce jour comme signets pour livres mais j'assemble trois systèmes pour réaliser un type nouveau présentant de nouveaux avantages.
Je revendique comme étant mon invention, la création d'un signet pour livre de lecture, composé de trois parties distinctes mais formant né- anmoins un tout présentant des qualités nouvelles.
Je revendique comme étant mon invention, le fait d'utiliser une pièce métallique repliée sur elle-même, formant pince, cette pièce se pla- çant sur la tranche supérieure de la couverture d'un livre, aussi près que possible du dos du livre et y reste fixée. Cette pièce porte dans son pli une ouverture ronde ou allongée, située à gauche, afin de pouvoir y placer un cordon ou un ruban. La partie qui se place à l'intérieur du livre'est traitée de manière à servir de coupe-papier.
La partie destinée à figurer à l'extérieur du livre peut être traitée de toutes façons, empreinte, gravure, découpage, etc, de sorte à en faire un objet de vente, souvenir d'évènement, touristique, série religieuse ou publicitaire ; peut même en faire un bijou qui par sa présence rappelle sans cesse son objet.
Je revendique comme étant mon invention le fait de relier une pièce fixe amovible formant pince et destinée à être fixée sur la tranche su- périeure de la couverture d'un livre de manière à maintenir en place le lien qui retient la seconde partie constituée par un volet mobile; de cette façon, il est loisible de relier à cette pièce fixe plusieurs volets mobiles.
Je revendique comme étant mon invention le fait d'utiliser un feuillet mobile comme volet du signet, attaché par un lien à une pièce fixe amovible formant pince, en sorte que le volet mobile, maintenu en place par le lien fixé à la pièce métallique fixe, peut se placer à n'importe quelle page du livre sans risquer de le perdre. Les faces de ce volet peuvent rece- voir les impressions les plus diverses et être utilisées aux fins les plus diverses.

BOOKMARK FOR LOCATING THE PAGES OF A READING BOOK.
The systems used to date to locate the page of a reading book all have drawbacks which I have sought to remedy.
The new bookmark that I present has two distinct parts linked together by some sort of link.
The first part is a spring loaded metal clip, which adapts to the cover of the book or if the book is hardback, to the cover page; this metal clip by its shape is placed flush with the upper edge of the cover or the cover sheet and consequently does not exceed the format of the book; this is an advantage because it does not get in the way, cannot be hung up and thus get lost.
This metal part is made. so that it can be used, before its placement, as a paper cutter., after this operation it is placed in the place indicated above, taking care to put it closest to the spine of the book, in the folding of the cover where it remains placed while reading the livery
This metal part consists of a metal plate folded back on itself and forms a clamp; in its rounded fold is provided a small round or elongated opening depending on whether you want to introduce a cord or a ribbon which serves to connect the metal part to the second part of the sign.
The second part consists of a movable shutter attached as stated above to the metal part.
In this way, the metal part in place, holding the cord or the ribbon in this place and the flap being movable can be inserted between any page of the book; when we open the book we find

thus easily the page where is the bookmark. -
It is easy to imagine the use of this new bookmark, but where its use becomes interesting is that its very form makes it possible to make an object that can serve as a useful gift, tourist, folkloric, religious, and other souvenirs. first-rate advertising.
In fact, the exterior metal part can receive an artistic imprint which can transform this simple object into a jewel, even expensive; the same is true of the shutter which can be treated anyway, hand-illuminated, luxury printing, advertising, and be made up of any material.

I claim as being my invention the use of known means, used to this day as bookmarks for books, but I assemble three systems to achieve a new type with new advantages.
I claim as being my invention, the creation of a bookmark for a reading book, composed of three distinct parts but nevertheless forming a whole with new qualities.
I claim as being my invention, the fact of using a metal part folded over on itself, forming a clip, this part being placed on the upper edge of the cover of a book, as close as possible to the spine of the book and remains fixed there. This piece has in its fold a round or elongated opening, located on the left, in order to be able to place a cord or a ribbon. The part that goes inside the book is processed to serve as a letter opener.
The part intended to appear on the outside of the book can be treated in any case, imprint, engraving, cutting, etc., so as to make it an object of sale, souvenir of an event, tourist, religious or advertising series; can even turn it into a jewel which by its presence constantly recalls its object.
I claim as being my invention the fact of connecting a removable fixed part forming a clamp and intended to be fixed on the upper edge of the cover of a book so as to hold in place the tie which retains the second part constituted by a movable shutter; in this way, it is possible to connect to this fixed part several movable shutters.
I claim as being my invention the fact of using a movable sheet as the bookmark flap, attached by a link to a removable fixed part forming a clamp, so that the movable flap, held in place by the link fixed to the fixed metal part , can be placed on any page of the book without risking losing it. The faces of this shutter can receive the most diverse impressions and be used for the most diverse purposes.
