<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Indépendamment du fait que cette disposition nouvelle peut être réalisée sous des formes infiniment variables,certaines.exécutions sont décrites ci-après en se référant aux dessins annexés dans lesquels les figures 1 et 2 schématisent aussi sommairement que pos- sible le dispositif de l'invention, respectivement en position de fermeture et d'ouverture; la figure 3 représente;, en coupe radiale, une exécution pré- férée du;dispositif de l'invention; la figure 4 représente, en élévation avec coupe radiale par- tielle, le dispositif de la figure 3; la figure 5 ést une coupe suivant la ligne V-V de la figure 3; les figures 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 représentent différentes exécutions du dispositif de l'invention;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
Néanmoins, la chambre d'attente 1 se maintient remplie de matièreo L'enveloppement 2 pourra, comme schématisé sommairement aux figures 6 à 9, être profilé et aménagé de manières infiniment variables. Dans l'exemple de la figure 6, cette paroi se termine inférieurement par un collier 29 intérieurement fileté; dans la figure 7 cette même paroi 2 est aménagée pour pouvoir être sertie par un joint 30 sur un récipient cylindrique 31; dans la figure 8, la même paroi 2 est inférieurement prolongée par un collier 32 dans lequel sont ménagées les échancrures 33 d'un joint à baïonnette;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
ment quelques-unes. Dans la figure 10, on a représenté 1'application du dispositif en retrait sur un récipient cylindrique 37', le dispositif ve- nant s'appliquer sur le ciel 38 en forme de cuvette; dans la figure 11 on a représenté le dispositif fixé en tête d'une petite bonbonne 39; dans la figure 12 le dispositif est appliqué en tête d'un flacon 40; dans la figu- re 13 le dispositif est séparé du récipient 41 par un flexible 42 qui pro- longe le tube plongeant 4; dans la figure 14 le dispositif est combiné avec un pistolet 43 raccordé au récipient 44 également par un flexible 42;

DEVICE FOR THE FLOW OF PRODUCTS CALLED AEROSOLS.
The invention relates to a new device for delivering so-called aerosol products, that is to say initially liquid products evacuated in the form of a mist by adding a gaseous fluid under pressure.
Numerous devices of this type are known and, in general, they are based on the combination of a valve and of a tube immersed in the container practically over its entire height, said valve being capable of releasing the liquid under stress. by pressurized gas. This general means has been applied in various forms, but these are generally complex and expensive.
According to the invention, a device is produced offering the essential characteristic of constituting a head adaptable to an infinite variety of receptacles, said head offering the characteristic of a rational combination which can be executed industrially, easily and inexpensively. In practice, the same parts could be applied in a considerable number of adaptations to different containers, only the outer part or the covering of the head sometimes having to undergo a modification of shape and dimensions in order to be able to be adapted to different containers. different containers.
The invention extends to all these applications as well as to any execution, in any form whatsoever, of the device itself.
This device consists essentially of the combination of a base part generally made of a molding material and presenting a hollow conical body lower extended by a pipe in which the upper end of the dip tube is fixed; a central bushing directed upwards and in the hollow of which the lower end of the return spring of the valve tappet rests and between the lower nozzle and the conical hollow at least one passage capable of placing the immersion tube in communication with it the waiting room delimited by
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
said conical hollow and an inverted cup fixed to said base piece preferably with the interposition of a. seal.
The central part of this wall in the form of an inverted cup has an orifice crossed by the valve lifter permanently applied in the closed position by the aforesaid return spring, a seal preferably being interposed. between the annular base of said valve tappet and the seat of this base. Said cup-shaped wall has a central depression in the middle of which the valve tappet protrudes.
A casing surrounds the device which has just been described by fixing, by its periphery, an elastic membrane covering the valve tappet, this casing being fixed to said device so as to produce a compact and removable head capable of being delivered under this shape and ready to be adapted, permanently or not., on any suitable container.
'We have therefore achieved a complete industrial object in itself. capable of being delivered as is and applicable by simple means on the appropriate receptacles.
This arrangement, in addition to its exceptional economic interest, offers still more to ensure a constant flow rate regardless of the content of the container and the level of this content. This consistency is obtained by superimposing on the actual container a first waiting chamber and a second discharge chamber so that the product to be discharged is, in a way, standardized upstream of the container. the outlet of the appliance. In addition, any thrust on the elastic diaphragm causing the proportional discharge of the valve tappet necessarily results in the evacuation of the material under equal conditions, this material already filling, in advance, the waiting chamber and being found. therefore thus waiting just upstream of the discharge openings.
Independently of the fact that this new arrangement can be produced in infinitely variable forms, certain embodiments are described below with reference to the appended drawings in which Figures 1 and 2 schematically as briefly as possible the device of the invention. , respectively in the closed and open position; FIG. 3 represents, in radial section, a preferred embodiment of the device of the invention; FIG. 4 shows, in elevation in partial radial section, the device of FIG. 3; Figure 5 is a section taken along the line V-V of Figure 3; FIGS. 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 represent different embodiments of the device of the invention;
FIGS. 10 to 15 very schematically represent various applications of the device of the invention.
In the representation as schematic as possible of the device of the invention - Figures 1 and 2 - it can be seen that the device of the invention is formed at least by a base part 1 delimiting, with an upper wall 2, a waiting chamber 3. In the bottom of said chamber 3 opens the dip tube 4. In the center of the wall 2 is provided an orifice 1 crossed by a valve tappet 6 provided with a base 7 and permanently recalled in the closed position by a return spring 8.
Above the upper wall 2 is arranged an elastic membrane 2 'fixed peripherally by an enveloping wall 10 in which is formed at least one discharge orifice 11. The tube 4 is immersed in a receptacle 12. The various juxtaposed walls are arranged in such a way that all joints are perfectly watertight.
These arrangements are essentially variable but a practical execution is illustrated by way of example in FIGS. 3 to 5. In fact, in these figures, we find the base part 1 executed, for example.

ple, made of a molding material, and having a hollow conical body bordered by a crown 13, the upper edge of which has a pan 14 for housing a seal 15. This base part is extended below by a pipe 16 in which is fixed the upper part of the dip tube 4. Upwards and in the center, this base part 1 has a second tube 17 in which the lower end of the return spring 8 bears.
Between the bottom of the lower nozzle 16 and the conical hollow of said base part 1 are formed channels 18. On said seal 15 is applied the inverted bowl forming the upper wall 2. This wall surrounds the crown 13 of the base part 1 and hook onto it, for example by a suitable molding 19. This same wall 2 has a central depression 20 and an orifice 5. The same upper wall 2 has an annular seat 21 on which bears a seal 22, - The central orifice 5 is crossed by a valve tappet 6 which is hollow and covers the upper part of the aforesaid return spring 8 ,.
This same valve tappet has a base 7. which is applied against a seal 23.
On the seal 22 which has radial grooves 24 comes to rest the elastic membrane 9 held in place by the casing 10 which is profiled so as to keep the entire central part of said membrane 9 free, to surround the device and to be fixed, by a molding 25, for example, in the aforementioned molding 19 of the wall 2.
The latter can be extended below and arranged in any way capable of forming a means of fixing the device thus produced on the container: In the example of FIGS. 3 and 4, said wall 2 is extended in the shape of a dome 26 and is crimped by a tight seal 27 on the body 12 of the container.
The operation of this device is excessively simple.
In fact, normally in the position shown in FIG. 3, the regulator 12 comprises a material 28 to be removed, a material generally in the liquid state but which could also be in the powdery or semi-liquid state. In the upper part of the container there is a gaseous fluid under pressure therefore normally exerting a pressure on said material 28 which, under the effect of this pressure, fills the tube 4 and, passing through the channels 18, also fills the chamber. waiting time 3 by applying the valve tappet 6 more against its seat, that is to say in the closed position.
If, as shown in Figure 4, one exerts, for example with the finger, a thrust on the membrane 2 ,, one pushes ipso facto, the valve tappet 6 by releasing the orifice 5. Instantly the material contained in the chamber waiting .1 escapes, fills the space delimited by said membrane 2 and the corresponding part of the wall 2, passes through the grooves 24 and is evacuated, more or less jet. violent, through orifice 11. This jet will continue as long as the pressure is maintained on the diaphragm 9 and will stop instantaneously with the withdrawal of said pressure, the return spring 8 being responsible for bringing back the valve tappet 6 in the closed position.
Nevertheless, the waiting chamber 1 is kept filled with material. The casing 2 can, as briefly diagrammed in FIGS. 6 to 9, be profiled and fitted out in infinitely variable ways. In the example of FIG. 6, this wall ends below in a collar 29 which is internally threaded; in FIG. 7 this same wall 2 is arranged so as to be able to be crimped by a seal 30 on a cylindrical container 31; in FIG. 8, the same wall 2 is extended below by a collar 32 in which the notches 33 of a bayonet seal are formed;
in FIG. 9 the same wall 2 is extended below by a neck 34 having a lower rim 35 by which the device can be fixed to the container by means of a connector 36.
Many other executions can still be imagined.
As for the applications themselves, they are practically endless. Figures 10 to 15 show a summary
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
ment a few. In FIG. 10, there is shown the application of the recessed device on a cylindrical container 37 ', the device being applied to the cover 38 in the form of a bowl; in Figure 11 there is shown the device fixed at the head of a small cylinder 39; in FIG. 12 the device is applied at the head of a bottle 40; in FIG. 13, the device is separated from the container 41 by a flexible pipe 42 which extends from the dip tube 4; in Figure 14 the device is combined with a gun 43 connected to the container 44 also by a flexible 42;
in Figure 15, there is shown the combination of the device of the invention with a container 45 in the form of a buretteo
All these examples are obviously not limiting of the invention and the latter extends to any execution and to any general adaptation of the mechanical combination described above.
