 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

  BOTTLE CAPSULE.

   Caps are already known for stopping bottles having the shape of a bowl which engages in the neck, these caps being generally obtained by cutting and stamping any sheet of metal but more particularly of aluminum.

   Given the rigidity of the aluminum or the metal used for the manufacture of these caps, they do not always fit exactly on all bottle necks because of the very slight variations in diameter which these necks present. This very often results in a clearance between the cap and the neck of the bottle which allows the fraudster to easily release this cap from the neck and consequently to modify the composition of the liquid contained in the bottle and to harm the good. reputation of the manufacturer. In addition, these capsules do not have absolute closure security and they can allow the liquid in the bottle to spill out during handling.

   A particular object of the present invention is to avoid these drawbacks.

   For this purpose, it relates to a cup-shaped stopper cap engaging in the neck of a bottle, characterized because it is made of plastic material, this cap thereby exhibiting elasticity allowing it to adapt itself. on the necks of various bottles regardless of the slight variations in the diameters of these necks and to ensure, once engaged, a tamper-proof closure which cannot be removed without destruction, which ensures safety and a guarantee for - cheteur.

   According to one embodiment of the invention, the cap has a rim which rests on the neck of the bottle to limit its insertion.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 fundamentally, this rim further constituting a gripping means for extracting the cap and uncorking the bottle but having the property of easily breaking by the very nature of the plastic material so as to make the extracted cap unusable subsequently.

   According to another embodiment, the capsule has a skirt: a) cylindrical b) slightly conical c) with a bead formed at its base d) provided with ridges the bead and the ridges imparting additional elasticity 'allow-' 'both to the capsule to fit perfectly on all necks of slightly varying diameters.

   The invention also extends to the characteristics described below and to their various possible combinations.

   Bottle caps in accordance with the invention are shown by way of nonlimiting example in the accompanying drawings in which: - Figure 1 is a sectional elevational view of the neck of a bottle with the capsule forming the subject of the invention fitted into this neck.

   - Figures 2, 3 and 4 show sectional elevational views of various forms of capsules according to the invention.

   The bottle caps forming the subject of the present invention have the form of cups which engage in the neck 1 of a bottle. These caps are made of plastic material which, thanks to their elasticity, allows them to adapt to the necks of various bottles regardless of the slight variations in diameter.

   The capsules have a rim 2 which rests on the neck 1 of the bottle, this rim 2 having the aim of limiting the insertion of the capsule into the neck. This rim 2 also constitutes a gripping means for extracting the cap and uncorking the bottle, but it has the property of breaking quite easily by the very nature of the plastic material. As a result, this unblocking always causes deterioration at least of the rim of the capsule which tears or breaks so that the capsule cannot be used again. In this, the fragile rim constitutes a trap for the possible fraudster because he will not be able to uncork the bottle without leaving traces of this fraudulent uncorking.

   The capsules may have a cylindrical skirt (fig. 2) or forming at its base a bead 4 (fig. 3). They may still present streaks or other reliefs (fig. 4). The bead 4 and the ridges 5 give the capsule an additional elasticity in addition to that already obtained by the nature of the plastic material, which allows it to adapt even more perfectly to all the necks. The “conical” skirt can also be designed with beads and ridges and thus allow, with the same cap, the stoppering of bottles having quite significant differences in neck diameters.

   The capsules obtained in accordance with the invention have the advantage of adapting to the necks of various bottles regardless of the slight variations in the diameters of these necks and of constituting, once engaged, a stopper on and a tamper-evident closure which cannot be extracted without destruction, thanks to the elasticity of the plastic material constituting these capsules.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

   It should be further noted that the plastic capsule can be used generally in the presence of chemicals which attack the metal capsules.
