<EMI ID=3.1>

<EMI ID=5.1>

CENTRIFUGAL SPINNER FOR SMALL GRAIN MATERIALS.
The present invention relates to a centrifugal wringer. In machines known for dewatering small grain materials, the. centrifugal force was used to separate the liquid constituents, while the evacuation of
solid matter was effected by mechanical means.
A centrifugal wringer has also been proposed consisting of
a screen drum open at the top, resiliently mounted on the motor shaft. The mechanical evacuation means are replaced there by axial vibrations, transmitted to the screening drum. The present invention provides an improvement to this type of centrifuge.
The invention consists in resiliently fixing the screening drum on a rotating motor shaft mounted in the machine frame, in providing a device transmitting axial vibrations to the screening drum and in resiliently mounting the machine frame on a frame. .
The attached drawing shows, by way of example, in longitudinal section an embodiment of the invention ...
The screening drum 1 is in the shape of a truncated cone flaring upwards and open above. It is closed at the bottom by a plate of '
annular bottom 2, advantageously stamped inwards to form a step. The bottom plate is also used to fix a cap 3 which protects against 1 '

tees of the vibration springs 10, which rest against the base plate, 2. On the step formed by the stamping of the base plate, are mounted other vibration springs II which bear against.a ring 12, screwed on * the motor shaft. Instead of being coil springs as shown, the vibration springs 10 and 11 can advantageously be constituted by cylindrical rubber elements embedded in corresponding recesses of the bottom plate, of the collar 9 and of the ring 12. The springs also serve to transmit the torque to the screening drum.
Under the collar, the motor shaft forms a transmission pulley in which grooves 13 are arranged for trapezoidal belts. The drive motor 14 is fixed to the frame 5 of the machine. A cap 15 which protects the bearing 6 against the penetration of dust or humidity,
is retained by the angular nut 16 and engages in a corresponding recess of the threaded ring 12. A ring 17 is provided for the same purpose at the lower end of the motor shaft.
In the fixed kingpin 4 is mounted a crankshaft 18 coupled to a drive motor 19. The latter is also mounted on the frame 5 of the machine. The frame 5 with the two control motors 14 and 19 is surrounded by an internal casing 29, so that these motors are perfectly sheltered. A connecting rod 20, attacked at its lower end by the crankshaft
<EMI ID = 3.1>
of an elastic coupling 21 connected to the cap 3 by the bearing 22, the connecting rod
20 transmits axial vibrations to the screening drum. Preferably, the speed of rotation of the crankshaft is such that the vertical vibratory movements of the screening drum 1 are in resonance. In this example, the device generating the vibrations is therefore constituted by the crankshaft 18, the connecting rod 20 and the elastic coupling 21.
The material to be wrung out is poured into the drum. The liquid flows through the perforated wall of the drum into the circular tank 23 from where it is discharged through the line 34. The dry material overflows above the upper edge 24 of the drum and passes into the annular chamber 25, between the wall of the tank 23 and an outer casing 26, from which it falls into a collecting hopper 31. The outer casing 26 is fixed on the outer edge

machine, including the control device, the casing 29 and the casing 26, forms the second, or counter-mass.
During operation, the screening drum vibrates, as the first mass, in the opposite direction to the counter mass, which ensures a very efficient balancing of the masses. The counter-mass is constituted by the frame 5 of the machine and all the elements to which it is rigidly connected.
<EMI ID = 5.1>
The first mass to the counter mass is advantageously about 1: 8 to 1: 15. As a result, the amplitude of the vibrations of the envelope is very low. These low vibrations are favorable to the evacuation of the dry matter, avoiding the formation of bridges in the annulus chamber 25.
<EMI ID = 6.1>
There are also a number of rubber dampers 30 with a strong progressive characteristic, that is to say that the elastic constant of these elastic members increases as a function of their compression. They are preferably cone-shaped at the top. These elastic members come into action approximately during the last third of the vibration stroke and quickly dampen any precession movements of the sieving drum caused by temporary imbalances due to an irregular feed.
or intermittent. The elastic members 30 thus limit the undesirable vibratory movements. This action is particularly advantageous when the vibration springs 10 and 11, which are calculated in the axial direction to give the resonance, have a diameter such that the transverse vibrations

free, the latter corresponding to its geometrical axis.
