PERFECTIONNEMENT AUX SYSTEMES DE COMMANDE DES VERGES D'UN METIER A TISSERo
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

IMPROVEMENT OF YARD CONTROL SYSTEMS FOR A TISSER TRADE
The present invention relates to a system for controlling the yards of a loom.
In yard looms, a back and forth motion of considerable amplitude must be imparted to the yard carriage. In the currently known trades of the species, this movement is produced by bulky mechanisms and having considerable passive resistances.
The object of the invention is to remedy the drawbacks pointed out by producing a control system with reduced bulk and greatly improved efficiency.
As in certain existing trades, the new control system comprises, among other things, a rod carrier guided on a sliding path and capable of being driven by a back and forth movement which is imparted to it by the game. a balance and by means, in particular, of at least one flexible link passing over two return pulleys placed respectively at the ends of said sliding path.
According to the invention, the aforementioned carriage is connected to the end of the aforesaid balance by two strands forming the aforementioned link, arranged symmetrically so, after passing over the aforementioned return pulleys, bypassing the two idler pulleys respectively and successively. a guide, the first of which is attached to the end of the aforementioned balance wheel while the second is subject to the frame of the loom, so as to print in a given time on the carriage in question, a displacement practically equal to twice the distance traveled by this end of the pendulum.
In an advantageous embodiment of the object of the invention, each of the pulleys of the aforementioned guides, secured to the frame of the loom, is capable of being moved parallel to the aforesaid sliding path by adjustment means to adjust the tension. of the corresponding strand.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
In a particularly advantageous embodiment, all the pulleys used are of the same size.
Other details and features of the invention will emerge from the description of a system for controlling the yards of a loom, given below by way of nonlimiting example and with reference to the accompanying drawings. .
FIG. 1 is an elevational view, with partial breaks, of the system according to the invention.
Figure 2 is a plan view of the end of the balance.
The control system comprises, among other things, a rod carrier 1 guided on a sliding path 2. The carriage 1 is capable of being driven by a back and forth movement of great amplitude. This movement is imparted by the play of a balance 3 and by the intermediary, in particular, of at least one flexible link 6-7, for example a rope, passing over two return pulleys 5 placed respectively at the ends of the track. sliding 2. Only one of the two pulleys 5 is visible in FIG. 1. It goes without saying that the members considered above are fitted to the frame 4 of the trade.
According to the invention, the carriage 1 is connected in either direction to the end of the balance 3, by two strands 6 and 7 which form the flexible link. The strands 6 and 7 are arranged symmetrically. After passing sur'les return pulleys 5, they bypass respectively and successively the two idle pulleys 8 and 9 of a guide. The pulley 8 of each guide is attached to the end of the balance 3. These two pulleys 8 are placed on one side and the other of the balance 3. Preferably, they are mounted on the same axis 11 carried by the end of this. pendulum. Each pulley 9 is secured to the frame 4. Each strand 6 and 7 is attached to the end of the balance 3, between the two pulleys 8, for example by means of a tail ring 12.
Thanks to this original arrangement of link 6-7, the displacement printed in a given time to the carriage 1 is practically equal to the double of the path traveled during the same time by the end of the balance 3. In fact, the length variation of the part of the link 6-7, which connects the pulleys 8 and 9, is worth practically twice the space traveled by the end of the balance 3.
In addition, the drive of the link 6-7 in a reciprocating movement, by the play of the balance 3, does not require other movement transmission members than the pulleys 8 and 9. It avoids for example the use of a gear harness controlled by a toothed sector integral with the balance 3 in order to impart an alternating rotational movement to a driving wheel. The balan- cier- 3 can be mounted to oscillate about an axis 13 supported by the frame 4 and be set in motion by an eccentric slide 14 carried by a wheel 15. The slide 14 is adapted to move in a longitudinal slide. - dinal 16 of the balance 3 while the wheel 14 may be provided with a toothed crown 17 meshing with a pinion 18 wedged on a drive shaft 19.
This produces a system of minimum bulk and having only very small passive resistances.
In an advantageous embodiment of the object of the invention, each of the pulleys 9 is capable of being moved parallel to the sliding path 2 by adjustment means 10. Each pulley 9 is, for example, mounted on an arm 20 integral with the frame 4, on which it is arranged to slide under the action of an adjusting screw 21. It is thus possible to adjust the tension of each strand 6 or 7 by adjusting the position of the pulley 9 corresponding, on his arm 20.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the pulleys 5, 8 and 9 are of the same size. These components are thus made interchangeable for the ease of maintenance operations.
The control system according to the invention is of minimum bulk. Its passive resistances are not very considerable. It is very robust and its efficiency is very high.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
It should be understood that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment described above and that many modifications can be made to it without departing from the scope of the present patent application. -
In particular, the deflection pulleys could be arranged to make them susceptible to adjustment in position which contributes to ensuring the adjustment of the tension of the strands of the flexible link.
The flexible link could, also, be made of a piece attached in its middle to the rod carriage or be made of two separate strands.
