   PERFECTIONNEMENTS AUX MOYENS DE FIXATION DES ANSES POUR BIDONS ET
RECIPIENTS ANALOGUES.

   Des exemples de réalisation sont décrits ci-après en se référant aux dessins annexés dans lesquels   g   la figure 1 est une vue de face d'un élément d'attache avant sertissage;

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 la figure 2 est une coupe radiale montrant la solidarisation entre ledit élément   dattache   et le récipient; la figure 3 est une vue perspective du moyen de fixation objet de   l'invention;   la figure 4 est une variante d'un élément de fixation pour anse; la figure 5 représente, en coupe radiale, le dispositif de la figure 4 solidarisé à un récipient;

   IMPROVEMENTS IN THE MEANS OF FIXING THE HANDLES FOR CANS AND
SIMILAR CONTAINERS.

   In general, the handles are attached to ears secured to the body of the container, either by riveting or by welding.

   These means are relatively slow and expensive and constitute, in any case, still at present, one of the main constraints in the economical manufacture of such containers with handles. On the other hand, if we take into account that containers of this kind, for example in the form of a can, are manufactured in very large quantities, it will be understood that the disadvantages arising from the known means for fixing the handles actually constitute, on economically, a major problem.

   The invention relates to improvements by which the hooking elements of the handle are secured to the container without welding or rivets and practically without an operation specific to this fixing itself. Indeed, these fastening elements are profiled and arranged in such a way that they are secured automatically by the very crimping of the upper ring forming the seat of the lid of the container. It therefore follows that these hooking elements are fixed by the very fact of the crimping of the upper edge of the container.

     We will thus have really reduced to the strict minimum the means used to effect such a connection and to systematically rule out the traditional means using rivets or welding.

   According to the invention, it suffices to produce the hooking elements of the handle in such a way that they have a sufficient surface to be able to participate in the crimping of the upper edge of the container and thus be firmly immobilized between the juxtaposed parts, respectively of the container and the closure ring.

   Exemplary embodiments are described below with reference to the accompanying drawings in which FIG. 1 is a front view of a fastening element before crimping;

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 FIG. 2 is a radial section showing the connection between said fastening element and the container; FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the fixing means which is the subject of the invention; FIG. 4 is a variant of a fastening element for a handle; FIG. 5 represents, in radial section, the device of FIG. 4 secured to a container;

   FIG. 6 represents a second variant, in perspective view
In the example of Figures 1 to 3, the fastening elements of 1 handle are constituted by plates 1, the front part of which is U-shaped, the two side branches 11-1 being folded over and profiled so as to form two loops. cylindrical 4-5. In these cylindrical loops bear the two ends bent towards the outside 6-7 of the side branches of a U-shaped element 8.

   The rear part which has remained free of said plate 1 is, as shown in FIG. 2, inserted between the body 9 of the container and the well-known upper ring 10 and forming the seat of the cover (not shown).

   This arrangement is nice that said plates 1 are therefore secured to the container 9 automatically by the very fact of the crimping of the upper ring 10. It will then suffice to hook to the U-shaped elements 8 the eyelet 11 terminating the two ends of the handle 12.

   We can obviously give this base plate 1 as well as the whole of the attachment element any other arrangements and conformations than those which have just been described.

   By way of example and only with a view to showing the general nature of the improvements which are the subject of the invention, a variant is shown in FIGS. 4 and. In this execution .; we are simply part of a plate 13 whose front part 14 has an orifice 15 The rear part of this plate can therefore be inserted by crimping, as described for the previous case, the front part 14 being kept free outside the container . It will suffice to deform it to bring it into any position favorable to the hooking of the eyelets 11 of the handle 12
In the example of Figure 6, a second variant has been produced consisting of a tab 16 conditioned as one of the two branches 2-3 of 1-'example of Figures 1 to 3.

   A ring 18 with or without neckline has been passed through the single loop 17, to which the corresponding end of the handle 12 is attached. This single tab and this ring can obviously be packaged and shaped in any other suitable manner.

     It is thus possible to adapt the improvements of the invention to any generally unspecified executions which will depend essentially on the type of receptacle to be fitted and in particular on its design, its execution and its capacity.
