CUTTING INDUCTOR COIL WITH AN ANNULAR IRON CORE, INTENDED FOR HIGH CURRENT CONTACT MUATORS.

An annular iron core cut-off inductance coil is known for use with high current contact transformers or converters and designed to extend the low current interval at the end of the time the contacts are traversed by current.

The winding of the cut-off inductor is made up of conductors inserted into each other in a concentric manner and of which the one located on the outside carries the iron core.

The object of the present invention is to improve this cut-off inductance. This improvement consists in that the winding of the inductor, consisting of tubular conductors slipped into one another in a concentric manner is used as the secondary winding of a transformer combined with the inductor coil. the inductance coil so as to form a single assembly.

This makes it possible to remove connections between the transformer and 1-'Cut-off inductor,
In the accompanying drawings, Figs. 1 to 3 schematically show examples of execution in longitudinal section, omitting construction and assembly details which are not essential for the understanding of the invention, examples in which the iron cores for the transformer and cut-off inductor are formed by two stacks with parallel axes ,,, forming core elements wound in sheet metal.

In Fig. 1, the reference signs a1 to 18 denote the tubular conductors inserted into one another in a concentric manner and which simultaneously supply the winding of the coil.

bine of cut-off inductance and the secondary winding of a single-phase power supply transformer for the contacts of a contact-type transformer.

The annular cores b1 'b2 of the cut-off inductors and the annular cores 31' 32 of the transformer are aligned with the outer conductors a7 and a8 'in the axial direction thereof, the latter cores carrying the primary windings f1' f2 of the transformer. The conductors a1 to a8 are connected in series by means of the connections c1 to c7. The ends of the tubular conductors a1 and a2 serve for the connection of the contacts of the switch to contacts.

Thanks to the arrangement according to the invention, one obtains, on the one hand, a reduction in the ohmic and inductive voltage drops, generated due to the high currents and, on the other hand, the advantage consisting in a reduction. consumption of material to transform it and the inductance coil. Since the formation of eddy currents is prevented to a great extent, further improvement in efficiency results. The establishment of stray fields between the parts of the suit is reduced to a noticeable degree by the use of annular cores and tubular conductors.

The magnetic characteristic of the constituent material of the cores for the cut-off inductance and the transformer must be adapted to the particular requirements. The cores of the transformer can be made of silicon iron and those of the choke choke coil of nickel iron. The number of turns of the cut-off inductance coil and that of the secondary winding of the transformer may be the same or different.

Figs. 2 and 3 represent examples relating to the supply of the phase and the counter-phase of a contact mutator.

The two secondary windings g1 'g2' assigned to phases U. U2 of the transformer embrace in common the cores e1 'e2 of the transformer and the cores b1' b2 of the cut-off inductors (Fig. 2), or else entwine the cores of the transformer in common and the cores of the cut-off inductor separately (Fig. 3). The winding consisting of concentric conductors and which is used simultaneously as a cut-off inductance coil winding and as a transformer secondary winding is formed of a tubular conductor established by bending, with the formation of crossing points so as to s' wind on itself by forming concentric turns, as well as through the cutouts of the transformer core and inductor. The midpoint g3 of the conductor in this case forms the neutral point of the transformer.

Here also, the transformer and the cut-off inductor comprise two stacks of tubular core elements e1 ′ b1 and e2 ′ b2 with parallel axes.

According to an embodiment different from that shown in the drawings, the annular cores for the cut-off inductors and the transformers may be formed by wound tapes and the width of which may differ with the height of the core.

The cores of the transformers can also be formed by stamped sheets. The single-phase combinations of a transformer and an inductor coil can also be easily applied to three-phase or polyphase contact mutators.
