<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
D'autres caractéristiques et avantages de l'invention ressor- tiront du complément de description qui suit, en référence au dessin sché- matique annexé, montrant exemplativement;
Fig. 1 une vue en élévation plus ou moins perspective, d'une bougie factice en une pièce, selon l'invention;

EASY CANDLE AND ITS MANUFACTURING PROCESS.
The invention relates to artificial candles, decorated with similar drops.
We already know dummy candles of this type, generally made of a material of the paper type, or even of glass or ceramic.
The former are not very resistant and must also be replaced as soon as they are soiled by dust, smoke, mist, etc., because it is difficult to clean them. The latter are fragile and, due to their constituent material, it is practically impossible to make them perfectly resembling wax candles. In addition, the manufacture of these known dummy candles is slow and expensive, in particular, either because of the operations for forming the decorative drops, or because of the baking or annealing operations.
The invention overcomes these drawbacks.
According to the invention, the dummy candles decorated with imitation drops are, in whole or in part, made of thermosetting resins or the like, in particular of polystyrene.
It is thus possible to directly obtain a dummy candle decorated with imitation drops, which is resistant and not very fragile, even with a thin wall; which can be easily cleaned, and which by its semi-matt luster is very close to the exact resemblance of a wax candle.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the faction candle decorated with imitation drops may be composed of two parts, namely a cylindrical body, or any other shape of section, on the one hand, and the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
decoration with imitation drops on the other hand, the latter preferably being supported by a ring capable of adapting to said body.
Conveniently, the manufacture is carried out by molding, either of the whole of the dummy candle with its decoration, or of the body and the decoration separately, or even only of the latter, the said decoration can then be associated with a body which may be differently established, for example be formed from a section of tube obtained by drawing or alternatively composed of another material.
Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge from the additional description which follows, with reference to the appended schematic drawing, showing by way of example;
Fig. 1 a more or less perspective elevation view of a dummy candle in one piece, according to the invention;
Fig. 2 a view in elevation, partly in section, of a facet candle with added decoration.
With reference to FIG. 1, 1 designates a tubular body which can receive any desirable length and any suitable thickness, and which has at or towards one end a decoration formed by imitation drops 2, these being connected to a band or cord 3 surrounding the terminal edge of the body 1.
When the manufacture is carried out by molding in a closed mold of a piece, the outer circumference of the strip or cord 3 has the same diameter as the circumference circumscribed by the drops 2, throughout the length of the latter, and the drops themselves each have in themselves a width which is substantially the same throughout this length or decreases towards the free end of the drop.
If the molding is carried out in an openable mold, in two pieces connected by hinge, the drops can have any desired conformation, in particular the conformations of the natural drops of wax, and the strip or cord 3 can be arbitrary or can even be deleted.
In fig. 2, as shown, the drops 2 and the strip or cord 3 form a separate part from the body 1, the said part being molded separately and the body being obtainable other than by molding, or even formed of another material. than a thermosetting resin or the like.
To ensure proper adaptation of the drops 2 and band or cord 3 assembly, on the body the band or cord can be given an internal diameter practically equal to that of the body, the support being obtained by an internal shoulder 4 that this band or cord is wearing.
The drops 2 may have the same width, and form beads of equal thickness, over the entire length of each drop individually, or else these drops may receive any conformations, such as those of natural wax drops.
In the embodiments described, the dummy candle is circular, it could naturally receive another shape of section. The body and its decoration can be of any desired shade, and when the body and its decoration are formed of distinct pieces, they can be of different hues, thus achieving particular aesthetic effects.
As goes without saying, the details of execution may vary, without thereby departing from the limits of the invention.
