SERRURE A CYLINDRE.

CYLINDER LOCK.
The present invention relates to a lock and ,? more particularly ,? a cylinder or push pin type lock.
The object of the invention is to provide a lock which comprises a new means for pocketing unauthorized cover of the lock.
There are locks which in some cases can be broken or opened by unauthorized persons using a suitable tool, such as a very thin Z-shaped tool. According to the present invention the lock is constructed in such a way that there is no way to open the lock surreptitiously and the lock can only be opened using the correct key.
Further, according to the invention, the lock of the type described comprises several spring-loaded locking pins as well as an auxiliary pin or latch which must be actuated by the correct key in a series of predetermined actions to allow rotation of the cylinder. and., 'consequently the opening of the lock.
In addition, the invention provides for the realization of a cylinder lock which cannot be fractured and which uses push pins and an auxiliary locking tab. The key used to open the lock is provided with an opening or a slot in which the auxiliary latch is only housed when the key is fully inserted in the locks, thus allowing rotation of the cylinder without the correct key to operate the push pins and to release the auxiliary latch.
The lock according to the invention is extremely simple and inexpensive to execute.
One embodiment, given by way of non-limiting example, is shown in the accompanying drawings., In which:

16. The body 16 of the key is provided with an opening 17 which extends inwardly from one of the longitudinal edges of said body and part 18 of the key is tilted for a purpose which will be described later. the part 18 being adjacent to the opening 17. The end of the key 15 is tapered at a point 19 so that it slides the tab 21 when said tapered end 19 engages the bevelled part 20 of the inner end cleat 21.
The stopper 21 is mounted so as to be able to slide in a cutout 22 provided in the cylinder 10 and the longitudinal axis of the cutout 22 extends to the bore 11. A slot 23 is provided in the barrel 12 and is mounted so as to be able to be brought in and out of alignment with the cutout 22, thereby the tab 21 can pass through the cutout 22 and enter the slot 23. The tab 21 may be provided with a flat portion 24.
EMI2.5
A plate 25 is fixed to the end of the lock and closes the end of the keyhole (figo 6) and an elastic member 26 is disposed in a part of the barrel 12 thread. One end of the elastic member 26 is connected by suitable means, for example by means of a cleat slit 21. The elastic member 26 normally establishes by force or by tilting the cleat 21. a connection between said cleat and the

29 and 30 spaced parallel to each other. Push pins, put under the inaction of springsg slide in each of these chambers and each of the springs serving to actuate the push pins is marked by 31. The barrel 12 is provided with several cavities 32, 33, 34 and 35 and the cavities of the barrel 12 are arranged so as to be able to be brought in and out of alignment with the chambers of the cylinder. One of the pins slides in the chamber 27 and in the cavity 32 and said pin comprises a piston 36 and a pusher 40, in the following chamber is disposed a pin comprising a piston 37 cooperating with a pusher 41.
In the next chamber there is a piston 38 cooperating with a pusher 42 and in the last chamber and cavity there is a piston 39 which cooperates with a pusher 43.

EMI3.1
From the foregoing it emerges that the lock according to the invention represents an improvement over known locks.
EMI3.2
In figs, 1 and 2 the parts are represented in their position before the key is inserted and used. To open the lock, the key 15 is inserted into the keyhole 14 as shown in fig 3.
When key 15 progresses towards 1 inside the push-buttons
EMI3.3
40th 4lue 42 and 43 push their respective spindle or piston 36, 379 38 and 39 back into the chambers of cylinder 10 so that the line of contact between the push rods and the pistons coincides with the wall of the borehole 11. However, when the key 15 advances in the keyhole of its position
EMI3.4
shown in fig. 4 the tapered end 19 of the key engages the inner end of the stopper 21 so as to move the latter from the position shown in figo 2 to the position shown at the end.
When the key is fully inserted into the keyhole and adopts the position shown in fig. 6, cover 17 aligns with slot 23 and cutout 22 so that elastic member 26 can
EMI3.5
push or tilt the tab 21 through the opening 17 of the key to the position shown in FIG. 7o In this way (the cleat being in the position of fig. 7) it is removed from the cutout 22 and the line of contact between the pushers and the pistons aligns with the outer wall of the borehole so that, when the key 15 is fully inserted, cylinder 12 can be turned easily by opening the lock.
When the key 15 is removed from the lock, the pins and the catch perform a reverse movement. When the key is removed, the inclined portion 18 of the key returns part of the inner end of the latch 21 into the cutout 22 and, at the same time, the springs return the pistons and pushrods to the position shown in fig. . 1 so that the pins and the stopper form a double guarantee against unauthorized rotation of the barrel 120
From the drawings 11 emerges that when the parts are arranged according to Figs, 1 and 2 before the key is inserted, the tab 21 completely closes the keyhole and it is held in this position by means of the elastic member 26; the keyhole also being partially closed by the push pins.
As the key advances through the keyhole, the corresponding pins are lifted and the tab is simultaneously moved to provide additional locking. The Intermediate pins comprising the pistons 37 and 39 cooperating with the pushers 41 and 42 are gauged and machined with the same tolerance than the auxiliary stopper 21. However the end pins, comprising the pistons 36 and 39 and the corresponding pushers 40 and 43 are arranged with a greater clearance in their chamber and cavity than the stopper and the pins
EMI3.6
intermediaries and because of this arrangement, it is impossible to open the lock with any illegal tool.
This is due to the fact that when the correct key enters the keyhole, the tab 21 and the pushers 41 and 42 execute an axial movement and this axial movement immobilizes the position.
EMI3.7
tively the barrel so wu '? 11 no longer remains room for the pistons 36 and 39 to extend to the edge of the barrel 12.
It should be noted that the pins are of different length and that the lock according to the present invention can in no case be opened by an illegal tool or by a false key., Given that when a false key is introduced, a locking additional occurs between the barrel and the cylinder. The key which opens this lock must have a perforation or a lateral opening 17 and its end 19 must be tapered to allow the longitudinal displacement of the cleat.
