<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Fig. 1 illustre un porte-manteau conforme à l'invention, en position fermée;
Fig. 2 montre le porte-manteau de la figo 1, mais en position ouverte ;
Fig. 3 illustre, d'unemanière analogue à la Fige 1, une autre disposition de porte-manteau;

The invention relates to articles called coat racks for the storage and display of articles of clothing.
Combination coat racks, used for storing or storing articles of clothing such as: coats, jackets, gowns, or bodices and pants or skirts, usually include an upper part, which may be curved in shape, for hanging a coat, jacket or jacket or bodice, and a lower part, which may be rectilinear, for hanging trousers or one or more skirts, said upper and lower parts being rigidly connected together at both ends. The upper part is usually provided in its middle with a hook intended to allow suspension from a support bar of a wardrobe or from a hook or plug of a wall, door or partition.
With these known coat racks, it is difficult to place or remove these pants or skirts, because of the usually small closed space, provided between the upper and lower parts of the coat rack, with the consequence that the objects clothing must be inserted and removed by a movement in a direction perpendicular to the coat rack.
Not only can wrinkles occur in objects, but the operation is frequently prevented or hampered by the presence of neighboring coat racks lined with clothes.
In addition, these known coat racks were easily removable, in some cases, that is to say in certain places such as hotels and the like, their unauthorized removal is frequently observed.
The invention aims to remedy these drawbacks.
According to the invention, a coat rack essentially comprises a connecting element with a permanent support, arms extending on either side of said connecting element and suitable for supporting a coat, jacket or similar garment, and a support bar for trousers or the like, attached immovably to one of said arms and removably connected to the other arm.
The irremovable clip is arranged as a spring hinge and the bar may constitute an extension of said arm, a curved part of the arm providing the irremovable clip.
The removable connection with the other arm can be constituted by a hook-shaped portion of the end of said other arm.
According to another characteristic of the invention, the connecting element of the coat rack with the permanent support is preferably established in the form of an encircling member, which may be a closed loop.
However, said connecting element may also be in the form of an open hook, and means may be provided for bridging or securely closing the opening of the hook, thereby preventing unauthorized removal of the coat rack from the hook. permanent support.
The improved coat racks can be formed from a single section of a wire or rod material, preferably elastic in nature, and suitably shaped.
Preferred arrangements of improved coat racks are described below by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawing in which:
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Fig. 1 illustrates a coat rack according to the invention, in the closed position;
Fig. 2 shows the coat rack in fig 1, but in the open position;
Fig. 3 illustrates, in a manner analogous to Fig. 1, another arrangement of a coat rack;
Fig. 4 illustrates a coat rack whose connecting element has the shape of a hook.
Referring first to Figs. 1 and 2, 1 generally designates the coat rack, which is suspended from a permanent support 2, such as the usual support bar of a wardrobe or the like, by means of a mforme connecting element of closed loop, 3, extending on each side by downwardly inclined arms, 4 and 5, illustrated as rectilinear but which could be suitably bent at will.
6 designates a bar, suitable for supporting trousers or any other piece of clothing, such as a skirt or the like, which bar is attached immovably to the lower end of the arm 4 by means of a curved part, forming a spring, 7, while its free end is removably engaged in the hook-shaped part, 8, of the lower end of the arm 5.
In the example illustrated, the aforementioned elements are formed from a single length of a wire or rod material, advantageously of elastic nature. Steel or other metals can be used, but other materials can also be used. Instead of a single length of rod or wire, the coat rack could be constructed using separate parts or elements, assembled together and providing a connecting element such as 3, an elastic or spring hinge such as 7 and a removable engagement such as 8.
Fig 2 shows the bar 6 when it is released from the hook 8, and it will be understood that in this condition a pants, a skirt, or any other similar garment can be easily engaged or removed by a sliding movement in the direction length of the coat rack, through the free space or clearance between the end portion of the rod 6 and the hook 8, thus avoiding creasing, wrinkling or damaging the garment, while these operations can be carried out without hindrance nor interfere due to the presence of adjacent lined coat racks
Once the piece of clothing has been suitably placed on the bar 6, the end of this bar is engaged in the hook 8, and it will be understood that by supposing the support bar 2 anchored in the wardrobe or similar , unauthorized removal of the coat rack is prevented.
Fig. 3 illustrates a coat rack similar to that described above, but in which the connecting element 3 is formed of a single loop without the twist shown in its lower portion in Figures 1 and 2.
In fig. 4, the coat rack is, in a similar manner, formed of a single length of wire or rod, bent to the desired shape, but with a connecting element shaped as a hook.
The shaping operation is preferably carried out so as to leave a narrow passage or play between the adjacent parts of the free end of the hook 3, thus allowing a rope or else to be engaged and passed around the birth. hook or any other part

tie of the coat rack, thus securely closing the opening of the hook @@
3 and preventing unauthorized removal of the coat rack.
Although only certain preferred coat rack arrangements have been described in detail, it should be understood that the invention is not limited thereto, but encompasses modifications and variations within the scope. of the appended claims.
