<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The subject of the invention is a new recoilless automatic weapon system. This is a fundamentally different system from those known to date, and is applicable to all calibers and all types of weapons.
The essential and specific characteristics of the new system are as follows.
A gas chamber which gradually increases in volume after the shot, with the drop in tension of the gases remaining after the departure of the resulting projectile, by expansion and cooling. A transformation of these pressures into internal works in the weapon absorbing, in its entirety, the energy which would produce the recoil of the weapon.
The barrel with its thunder, or simply its half-thunder, extends to the rear in a hollow body of larger diameter, concentric with its core, In this body, generally cylindrical, is housed a percussion mass which acts as a piston and which, pushed towards the thunder by means of a spring, compressed air or any other kind of suitable energy, dragged in its course the projectile suitably situated in its magazine, introduced it into the thunder and, at the same moment, in the same path, produces the shot, by means of a striker placed on its anterior face. FIG. 1 schematically represents the system described.
This percussive mass acts as a closure, the time necessary, so that the pressure of the gases of the projection charge is sufficiently high to obtain the initial velocity of the projectile at the precise moment. This time is that which is necessary to absorb the living force of the shock and to overcome the inertia of the change of direction in the movement of the mass, which remains mad after the shot and recedes by the pressure of the gases in the direction of the mass. breech by overcoming the resistance of the spring which gave it the impulse and by coming to cling to a part of the trigger which is disposed at the opposite end of the weapon. The piston mass is ready to repeat its function.
This system therefore makes it possible to absorb, inside the weapon, all the pressures which could cause it to recoil after the shot.
First, as indicated, by expansion and cooling, since the diameter of the volume increasing chamber is very large, relative to the caliber; secondly, because it displaces the mass which, moreover, compresses a spring; and finally, by means of the eccentric firing and recoil brake which constitutes a very essential part of the system which is described below.
To regulate the speed and, consequently, the living force of the impact of the percussion mass against the thunder, as well as the speed of recoil of this one after the shot, speed which determines the rate of fire, the system has the next novelty. A cylindrical hole has been made in the mass, eccentric with respect to its axis (Figures 1 and 2) through which passes a rod 4 provided at one of its ends with a washer 5 which serves as a piston. At the time of firing, when the mass is set in motion, as the rod which is fixed to the end of the weapon does not accompany it, it is thus constituted an adjustable air brake by means of holes or cuts in the washer (figure 3).
As the percussive mass recoils, after the shot, the phenomenon is reproduced in the opposite direction and these modifications, over the time of each retreat, determine the number of shots in salute (rate of fire). This rod 4 passes through the block 1, 2, 3 and the trigger mechanism part 7 'to exit the body of the weapon by adjusting to its end, handle or breech, so that, by pulling it, the weapon either ready to fire, starting from the rest state, with the spring relaxed, as shown in figure 2.

The weapons of this system are perfectly stable during operation because, after having eliminated the recoil, they are equipped with a partial brake of barrel 29 (figure 4) which prevents this one from raising when the projectile leaves.
The simplicity of these weapons is obvious, by the small number of their parts, their solidity and their dimensions.
In the lines which follow, we describe the realization of the system on a small submachine gun of 9 m / m of caliber where all its qualities could be tested. Figure 4 shows a longitudinal section of the weapon, with the trigger mechanism cocked and the spring compressed and ready to fire.
The body of the weapon is a steel tube 10 closed at the front by the nasturtium 11 with the barrel holder tube 12 which fixes the barrel 13 thanks to the connector 14. The nasturtium is integral with the handle 15 which is at the same time the charger housing. Inside the body moves the mass 1, 2 and 3, made up of part 1 riveted to part 2 which presents the rear part 3 provided with notches 16 to hook the eccentric 25 of the device to it. - trigger reel, which closes the weapon at the other end of the steel tube.
The rod 4 of the eccentric firing and recoil brake exits the body of the weapon by passing through the part of the release mechanism 7 and ends in the handle 19. By pulling on this handle 19, the rod comes out of its housing. 1, the washer butts against the inner wall of part 2 and drives the assembly 1, 2 and 3 overcomes the resistance of the spring and hooks the rear part. The weapon is ready to fire or the rifle is cocked.
By pulling the trigger 30 with the index finger of the right hand which holds the stock, the slide 20 is moved, compressing the spring 21 and causing the eccentric 22 to swing by means of the movement of the button 23. quet 24 pushes down the eccentric 25 which, freeing the posterior part, starts the weapon. The eccentric reacts as soon as the pawl swings, and when the percussive mass returns, pushed by the gases of the shot, it clings again. Using this system, we get the yardstick shot by shot.
If the hammer is placed in a second position, by pulling it further, simply, after the pawl 24 has tilted, the eccentric 22 secures the part 25, preventing the mass from catching its edge 26 by going back; the weapon fires a continuous salvo if the trigger is not released and as long as there is ammunition in the magazine.
FIG. 5 represents the impacting mass in profile and from the front; we can see the striker, the outside of the extractor and the guide channel which slides on the expeller which is a steel shuttle where the bushing comes to rest, being driven by the extractor which projects it through the window 28 .
Figure 6 shows the original extractor of the system.
The main characteristics of the invention as well as its operation having been sufficiently described, it is declared, for all practical purposes, that the dimensions as well as the materials to be used or the arrangement of the assembly may be subject to variations. , provided that this does not alter, change or modify the basic idea of the invention.
