<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

COMPRESSION DEVICE
The present invention relates to a device for compressing fluids, in particular refrigerants, easily adaptable in particular to household appliances producing cold.
This device includes, in its essential elements,
EMI1.1
Diston has 1? Ton ent '.co a compressor with / limited reciprocating motion and an electric motor system imparting to this piston a gyratory motion.
The compressor consists of a static and single chamber for suction, compression and delivery of the refrigerant, a piston, two valves and a sealing cover.
This chamber has the shape of a semi-cylindrical horizontal bowl, the base of which corresponds to that of a sector whose angle is slightly less than 1800 and it is provided with a nart of two fluid suction windows to be compressed and, on the other hand, two discharge windows for the compressed fluid, each located in a notch provided in each of the boundary walls of this chamber. These sliding notches each allow the reciprocating operation of a valve. natron pushed by coil spring.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The piston is in the form of a sector, of a quarter-circle arc, and the thickness of which corresponds to the free height of the compression chamber.
At the two rectilinear ends of this member, there is a stepped nipple which pushes back the valve-shoe controlling the opening of the discharge window when the piston ends the compression cycle. A variant consists in providing this nipple not to the piston, but to each valve.
The piston is driven by a reciprocating gyratory movement, on the horizontal clan and during a stroke of this piston take place successively: @ - the suction phase, during which the piston does not cover one of the suction windows, which is therefore open, allowing the arrival of refrigerant; @ the compression phase during which the piston covers and closes this suction window, compresses the fluid; - the discharge phase, where the piston at the end of its stroke presses by its nipple on the valve controlling the opening of one of the two discharge windows.
,
During this rotation, the second suction window is released, allowing the arrival of a new quantity of fluid, which will be compressed and discharged during the rotation, in the opposite direction, of the piston.
The piston forms a central axis which undergoes the left-right and vice-versa gyratory movement directly from the electric motor system described below. The central axis is the same, by extension, nour the compressor and the motor.,
The compressor is set in motion by an armature core: rotor, fixed on the central axis, head by four electromagnetic elements (E-A): stator.
This electric and rotating assembly is the motor principle to obtain the left-right gyrating movement and vice versa as follows:
Two face to face electromagnetic elements N and S are put together under electrical voltage - either the four, two by two alternately - by an external time relay, thus creating several times a second a different magnetic field influencing the rotor which, by this fact moves from left to right and vice versa,
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The same gyratory movement can be obtained by two electromagnetic elements and one or two rapeel springs towards a limit position. Various forms of springs are applicable depending on the place of attachment to the central axis.
In this eventuality, the time delay relay would act with Intereuption equal to the electrical energization time of the two electromagnetic elements.
This last system (two electromagnets) can be applied by removing, on alternating current, the time delay relay; it would thus function periodically. In this case, the compression chamber and piston stroke would be reduced a little by adjustment.
An embodiment of the compression device, given by way of illustration and not by way of limitation, is described below with reference to the diagrams in which figure I represents a cross section, figure II a section along AB and figure III the piston.
The suction, compression and discharge chamber (1) has the shape of a bowl, as shown in Figure II, closed by a sealing cover (not shown in the diagram).
Two suction windows (2 and 2 ') meet, on the outside of the compressor, at a fluid supply duct. The two discharge windows (3 and 3 '), according to the same principle, are joined to a single compressed fluid delivery duct.
Lé Diston (4) is fixed to a central axis (5) driven by a horizontal gyratory movement, by a motor unit, not shown in the diagram.
The refrigerant enters the compressor (1) through a suction window (2) which, through the passage of the piston (4), closes completely; therefore, by the stroke of the piston, the fluid is compressed and then discharged through the discharge window (3) released by a valve (6) under the thrust of the nipple (7) of the piston.
When the piston reverses its stroke, the valve (6) moved by a spring ($), closes this last window (3), and the cycle continues in the other direction, for the compression of a new quantity of fluid having penetrated through the window (2 '), which the piston released at the end of the previous phase.

This compressor device, design and production
EMI4.1
Besides the general systems used until now, has the additional advantage of 1) being easily adapted to household refrigerating appliances.
It also includes the modifications and improvements which, without departing from the scope of the present invention, can be made. It is in particular possible to revise it, not with a double effect, as described above, but with a simnie effect and consequently only having a suction window, a discharge window, a sounane and a Diston nipple, from left or right side it.
This compressor cannot be hermetically sealed in a metal casing or the like and thus bathe in oil.
Multiple lubrication points are possible at the crossing surfaces of the components.
This compressor cannot be charged with a refrigerant of your choice. The assembly of the assembly, which will form a whole (compressor and motor) not recommended according to the drawings, is not limiting in any way, in particular the position, shape, dimensions and power of the various components. mechanical and electrical, which move vary.
In these compressors, the friction surfaces are reduced to a minimum for poor efficiency.
The gyratory movement of the miston on a horizontal plane, with perfect lubrication and the low rotational speed provided according to the engine system, will reduce the wear of the mechanical parts.
