<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The invention relates to dispenser packaging, especially for products in the form of a sheet, strip, wick or the like, for example cotton wool.
Its particular aim is to establish a practical and hygienic packaging, of simple and economical manufacture, making it possible to debit the required quantity of the packaged product, while keeping the remainder of the product protected from external contact.
According to the invention, the packaging comprises an element made of relatively rigid material, for example of lightweight cardboard, in which an opening is formed, the shape of which corresponds to the cross section of the strip or the like and through which it is possible to exit the end of the strip to remove any desired length therefrom, means being provided to cover said opening when the desired quantity of product has been dispensed.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the product is placed in a frame, in one face of which the opening for extracting the product is formed, the frame containing the product being placed in a sachet. the openable end of which covers the face of the frame having said opening. The bag is preferably made of a transparent and preferably airtight material, for example plastic.
Said opening is advantageously formed by cutting the material of said face so as to form two lips which can be bent outwardly, on either side of the opening, thus forming guides for the opposite faces of the opening. the product strip while it is being removed from the packaging.
Other features and advantages of the invention will emerge from the description of some exemplary embodiments, which will be given below with reference to the appended drawing, in which: FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a packaging according to the invention showing how the product is extracted therefrom; FIG. 2 is a sectional view of an alternative embodiment, and FIG. 3 is a perspective view of another alternative embodiment.
Figure 1 shows a dispenser package for cotton wool in a zig-zag folded strip or wick. It comprises a rectangular frame 1 of light cardboard or the like, in one face of which is formed an elongated opening 2, delimited by the lips 3, 4 which are formed by notches in said face and are folded outwards to constitute guides for the strip of cotton wool, on either side of the opening 2. The strip of cotton wool 5, folded in a zig-zag, is placed in the frame 1 and the whole is enclosed in a bag 6 Figure 1 shows the bag opened so as to allow the extraction of the desired amount of cotton wool. The bag can then be closed so as to cover the window, possibly by folding the lips 3, 4 back.
The bag 6 is preferably made of transparent plastic material, so that the cotton wool 4 is visible through the two open faces of this frame, on which a label 6 can be placed, inside the bag.
Figure 2 shows a package in which the wadding 8 is folded in a zig-zag way in the plane of the frame 1, instead of being perpendicular to this plane, as in Figure 1. It is then necessary to form the opening 9

near the edge of the frame to facilitate the extraction of the cotton wool.
In the variant shown in fig. 3, the packaging has the general shape of a box 10, for example made of light cardboard, one side of which is again provided with an opening 11, optionally provided with lips 12, 13. This opening can be covered by means of a cover 14, for example of cardboard and fixed to the box by a lateral extension 15, so that the cover is hinged along the fold line 16. The cover can be kept in its position. closed position by any suitable means, for example a tab 17 integral with the cover and able to engage in a flange 18 fixed to the box. To make the contents of the box visible, it may have, on at least one of its long faces, a transparent window 19 which extends lengthwise.
The embodiment according to FIG. 3 is somewhat more complicated and therefore less advantageous than that according to FIG. 1 or 2, which is particularly simple and economical, which is very important for this kind of lost packaging. In the case of FIG. 1 or 2, the bag 5, generally made of plastic material, still remains available for other uses after emptying the packaging, only the frame 1 being lost.
It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the examples described and illustrated, to which various modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the invention.
