Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 la figure 1 d'un corps de canette dont la partie à canetter est aplatie sur deux cotés opposes:; - la figure 4 représente une coupe transversale, à plus grande échelle, suivant la li   @e   IV-IV de la figure 3 ;

   - la figure 5 représente une variante d'exécution, dans laquelle la partie aplatie s'ctire sur la partie à canettet 'du corps de canette, suivant   une   ligne de forme héli- coïdale ; la figure 6 est une vue latérale d'u corps de canette dont la partie à canetter présente trois arêtes lon- gitudinales et dont la forme de la coupe transversale est un triangle ; -   la   figure 7 représente une coupe transversale, à plus grande échelle, suivant la ligue VII-VII de la figure 6 ;

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

   The present invention relates to a bobbin body which is especially intended for weft bobbins in shuttles and which is essentially distinguished in that at least part of the bobbin body relative to its longitudinal axis is not shaped. circular, such that the can, during a transverse displacement with respect to its longitudinal axis, is protected against any rotation.

   Further features of the present invention will emerge from the appended claims, description and drawings in which are shown, purely by way of example, some embodiments of the subject matter of the invention. present invention.

   All of the embodiments shown relate to bobbin bodies for weft bobbins of. shuttles, namely those spools which are usable on looms with automatic bobbin changing device and which can therefore be stacked freely on top of each other in magazines for automatic feeding of the device reel change.

   In the accompanying drawings: - Figure 1 is a side view of a bobbin body, the bobbin part of which is flattened on one side, and on which is indicated the winding of the bobbin in broken lines; - Figure 2 is a cross section, on a larger scale, along the line II-II of the figure - Figure 3 is a representation similar to '

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 Figure 1 of a bobbin body, the bobbin part is flattened on two opposite sides :; - Figure 4 shows a cross section, on a larger scale, along line IV-IV of Figure 3;

   - Figure 5 shows an alternative embodiment, in which the flattened part is actire on the bobbin part 'of the bobbin body, along a helically shaped line; Figure 6 is a side view of a bobbin body the bobbin portion of which has three longitudinal ridges and the cross sectional shape of which is a triangle; - Figure 7 shows a cross section, on a larger scale, along line VII-VII of Figure 6;

   - figure 6 shows a similar cross section through another embodiment, in which the portion to be cut of the bobbin body has a single longitudinal ridge, - figure 9 is a side view of a body of a bobbin with a co @ and which has a non-circular periphery and of which this periphery protrudes towards the outside the winding of the bobbin represented in broken lines; and - Figure 10 shows a cross section on a larger scale, along the. line X-X of figure 9.

   The bobbin body shown in Figures 1 and 2 differs from a known and customary embodiment only in that the part II to be bobbed and which tapers off in a conical manner towards one of its ends, present at a location of its periphery a flattening 12 which extends in the longitudinal direction of the bobbin body over the greater part of the part II to be bobbinized. Thereby .

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 the bobbin portion 11 has for the most part a non-circular cross section with respect to the longitudinal axis of rotation of the bobbin body, as shown in particular in FIG. 2.

   A winding 13 inputs; in the usual way on the conical part 11, thereby also retains a non-circular periphery and a flattened part 14, which make it more difficult to roll the can on a base.

   If the cans having bobbin bodies according to Figures 1 and 2, are stacked on top of each other in a magazine, in which the cans, for example under the influence of gravity, are fed in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bobbin body, these
Bobbins will lie on top of each other with the outer layers of their windings. As the cans advance, they tend to turn and roll on the feed walls and also on top of each other.

  The flattened locations 14 of the bobbin winding now secure the bobbins against rotation as they advance. This results in various advantages: the outer layers of the bobbin windings 13 will rub against each other considerably less, which is of considerable importance for delicate yarns such as, for example, silk yarns. In addition, the ends of the bobbin windings will not unwind from the bobbin and ultimately end portions of the winding threads will be prevented from being wound in the direction of rotation contrary to that of the usual winding of the bobbins in question.

   In bobbins of the kind described, the winding thread is usually withdrawn over the head, at the reduced end of the conical part 11. So that this removal of the thread can take place without hindrance until use.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 complete with the coil 13, the flattening 12 on the part 11 of the bobbin body continuously transforms into an end part with a circular cross section.

   The embodiment of the bobbin body shown in FIGS. 3 ot 4 / differs from that described only in that in this case two flattenings 12 are provided on the conical part 11 to be bobbinized of the bobbin body. , which are arranged in diametrically opposed locations of the periphery, as particularly illustrated in Figure 4.

   A bobbin winding 13 disposed on part 11 will therefore also have two flattened locations 14 on the periphery which will be able to ensure the bobbin against any rotation during its advancement. The two flattens 12 continuously transform into a round end part 15 at the reduced end of the bobbin body so that the thread from the winding can continuously be removed without hindrance.

   FIG. 5 shows an exemplary embodiment, in which a flattened portion 16 extends along a helical-shaped line over part of the periphery of the conical portion 11 of the bobbin body. To obtain in this way an effective safety against any rotation of the wound bobbin during its advancement, it is necessary that the flattening 16, during its extension in the form of a helical line, is conducted over less than 360 around the periphery of the bobbin body, and even preferably less than 180.

   In a manner analogous to the example following Figures 1 and 2, the bobbin body according to Figure 5 may have only one flattening 16, or it may have two flattenings arranged diametrically opposite and s 'extending along a line of helical shape, in a manner analogous to the exemplary embodiment according to Figures 3 and 4.

   In an embodiment not shown, the

 bobbin body can also present on its conical part

   The bobbin body shown in Figures 6 and 7 has on its boating part 21, three longitudi- ridges.

 nales 22. reparties 8; ôj; juliôrei.ieirt on the periphery.

   In the area of these ridges 22, the bobbin body has a cross section in the shape of a triangle, as shown in Figure 7. Towards the reduced part of the body of this net, the non-round parts thereof are continuously transforming into the round end portion 15, the ridges 22 thereby vanishing into the outer surface. upper end part 15. When bobbing a bobbin body in this manner, the bobbin winding will exhibit a non-circular periphery, which will insure the bobbin against unwanted rotation as it advances.

 net may present a single ridge 23 as <iuiii 'is) shown 3c.la..reprrsnxlt atioll- clr ïl.a cross section follows figure 8. In another the execution elm, not re - shown, the bobbin body may still have a second ridge which is diametrically opposed to the ridge
23 shown in figure 8.

   The ridges 22 and 23 may orient, instead of extending in radial planes with respect to the axis 1011-

 of cans in a helically shaped line, preferably, however, less than 360 of the periphery.

   In the embodiment shown in figures
9 and 10, the bobbin body has, unlike known bodies, a conical portion 31 without alteration, which is intended for quilling. At the biggest part of this part
31 is provided a collar 32 which has a non-round contour and has for this purpose a flattening 33. The collar 32 extends from the longitudinal axis of the bobbin body more outward than the winding 13. of bobbin to bring on part 31 of the body of the bobbin, as shown in figure 10.

   If cans, with can bodies as shown in Figures 9 and 10, are stacked on top of each other in a magazine, the can bodies will rest with their collars 32 on top of each other. Since the surface area of their periphery is round, the cans are in fact insured against unwanted rotation when they are. they are advanced in a direction perpendicular to their longitudinal axis.

   There are still other embodiments, not shown, which. are possible, in which the collar has two, three or even more, flattened places on the periphery. In particular, there is in this connection a preferred embodiment, in which the collar 32 has a hexagonal shape. Therefore, the size of the cans is all the more advantageous, as the distance from bobbin axis to bobbin axis becomes smaller, when contact recéproqueddes coils on their flattening takes place.
