Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

   The present invention relates to a rectangular sieve with automatic discharge of the residue, subjected to free vibrations directed in the plane of the fabric and having a frequency greater than 900 periods per minute, vibrations which we will call horizontal, although the canvas may have a certain inclination to the horizontal, as opposed to the so-called vertical vibrations which are perpendicular to the plane of the canvas.

   On the one hand, the sieve according to the invention is distinguished from horizontal planichters or sieves by the frequency of the vibrations, the latter rarely reaching 900 beats per minute for plansichters controlled by a connecting rod, while it is greater than this frequency for the sieves according to the invention, for which it can reach and exceed 3000 vibrations per minute.

   On the other hand, it differs from known round sieves, of limited diameter and high-frequency horizontal vibrations, by the fact that the sieving residue is

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 automatically evacuated, while in round sieves the sieving must be interrupted to manually remove the residue accumulated on the canvas as soon as the quantity of it co. starts to adversely affect the flow rate of the device.

   It is known that sieving by vibration is effective only if the fabric constituting the bottom of the sieve is strongly stretched. It is possible to obtain the required tension for round sieves by the adequate strapping of the fabric, provided that the sieve diameter is modest and does not exceed, for example, 50 to 70 centimeters, but for rectangular sieves having diameters. Mensions to obtain a greater flow, the fabric cannot be stretched in this way.

   For this reason, rectangular screens, allowing automatic discharge of the residue, are currently only constructed to receive vertical vibrations, for which the fabric can be clamped and stretched at the ends and must be supported by sleepers arranged following a convex surface in view. to avoid the flapping of the canvas on these sleepers * However, horizontal vibration offers advantages with respect to vertical vibration, in particular as regards the efficiency of the devices and the clearance of the mesh of the canvas, but it requires canvases stretched in a single plane, not curved.

   According to the invention, the horizontal vibration of a frequency greater than 900 oscillations per minute can be applied to rectangular screens with automatic discharge of the residue when the fabric is taken by clamping members along its longitudinal edges and stretched. transversely.

   Preferably, the vibrations are produced by an unbalance with a vertical axis: acting in the frame of the sieve, and the frame is guided laterally and suspended by elastic members, so that the horizontal vibrations of the sieve 'are circular and free, without undergo notable distortions and early amortization. Lateral guidance is advantageous

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 securely provided by leaf springs in the shape of a horizontal oval, fixed to the frame of the apparatus, and the suspension of the screen by spring elements in the vertical direction and freely oscillating in the horizontal plane , for example of coil springs, these elements resting on supports fixed to the frame.

     The appended drawing represents by way of example one embodiment of the invention.

     FIG. 1 is a plan view of a horizontal vibrating screen frame.

   Figure 2 is a vertical section along the line II-II of Figure 1, and; . Figure 3 shows on a larger scale, in vertical section along the line III-III of: Figure 1, the frame suspension device.

   The frame 1 comprises two side members 2 and 2 ', reinforced on the outside by ribs 3 and on the inside by ribs 4 and 5, provided with stiffening gussets 6. These lanyards are interconnected, on the one hand, by the reinforced end pieces 7 and 7 ', the second of which is provided with the passage 8 in which the vertical axis unbalance device is housed (not shown in the figures) and ,. on the other hand, by bracing crossbars 9 in the form of a series of tubes arranged in a single plane, parallel to that of the sieving fabric 10.

  The latter is fixed summarily on the wooden sleepers 11 and 11 '(fig. 2), the sleeper 11 of which is placed at a certain distance from the part 7 to provide a space 12 through which the rejection of the sieve passes, while the cross 11 'adjoins room 7'.

   The canvas 10 is taken longitudinally by clamping members (not shown) having threaded rods which pass through the side members 2 and 2 'by the perforations 13 provided at distance to distance between the ribs 4 and 5, and which allow

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 put to stretch the canvas transversely. The fact of stretching the canvas transversely allows its arrangement in a 'single plane', and, consequently, the non-application of high-frequency horizontal vibrations, of the order of 3000 vibrations and more per minute, during sieving. with a large flow of materials that may contain a considerable proportion of rejects.

   . So that the vibrations generated by the 8 unbalance can be communicated without noticeable deformation to the frame 1 and so that the latter can transmit them uniformly to the sieving fabric over its entire extent without distorting them in an inconvenient manner, the frame must be suspended freely and guided laterally. To this end, four elastic elements, for example coil springs 14, arranged between the consoles 15 fixed to the frame 16 and the rib 3, support the frame. Coil springs can be replaced by hollow or solid rubber blocks, silent blocks or other suitable elastic means.

   The lateral guidance of the frame is preferably provided by four leaf springs 17 wound in an oval shape and interposed between the frame 16 and a plate 18 welded to the rib 4 and made integral with the lanyards 2 or 2 'by gussets 19. These oval leaf springs are secured by bolt nuts 20 to the frame and frame after mounting the vertical suspension.

   Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment which has been described and shown by way of example, and one would not depart from its scope by making modifications thereto.
