Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 EMI2.1

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

      est de préférence surélevé par rapport à la base du casier et limité vers l'avant à une certaine distance de la façade cornue le montre la figure 1 . filtre les parois latérales s'étend un axe 5 qui est destiné à traverser les pochettes en avant des disques en position de classement, un peu au-dessus du fond 5 et vers l'avant de celui-ci,Plus en avant et un peu au-dessus, est prévue une tringle 6 parallèle à l'axe 5 et qui peut être constituée comme lui par une barre ronde tout en pouvant présenter un profil différent.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

    Pour   extraire un disque choisie il suffit de tirer vers l'avant la pochette correspondante, par exemple par son   anle     supérieur   avant   17,     ce'   qui la fait basculer vers   1' avant   autour de l'axe 5   et la   maintient dans la position représentée en trait mixte à la   figure 1 pour laquelle le bord supérieur do l'encoche 13 est   venu buter centrela tringle 6;

 <Desc/Clms Page number 6>

   <Desc / Clms Page number 1>

   It is advantageous to classify phonograph records inside vertical juxtaposed pockets in a portable locker or special filing cabinet. the access to the discs being made by the front of the locker - or the cabinet, that is to say laterally with respect to the pockets. The juxtaposition of suitably tight pockets allows the maximum number of discs to be stored in the smallest space while maintaining the discs well without risk of deformation.

   However, if the side-by-side pockets are properly tightened, it becomes difficult to conveniently grip a disc through the vertical opening side of the pocket. On the other hand, it is important that the classification satisfies various ancillary conditions, for example allowing the identification of the different discs by easy-to-consult signs,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 EMI2.1
 aasueYiba'B.'ead.on automatic covers from where. a disc has been extracted to facilitate its replacement without hesitation and to indicate the absence of a disc, to retain the discs at the bottom of the pockets to protect them from the risk of falling during handling.

     Until now, the various means proposed to satisfy these conditions have only provided an imperfect solution to the. problem or resulted in complicated and expensive equipment, on the one hand, and excessive bulk, on the other -
The object of the invention is to provide a method of classifying and a material applicable more particularly to disks but also to other documents, and making it possible to satisfy the most severe conditions by very simple and inexpensive means, no 'not requiring a footprint significantly greater than that imposed by the dimensions of the disks or documents to be classified.

   To simplify the explanation, reference will be made hereinafter especially to the classification of discs, without this indication having a
 EMI2.2
 character "limiting.

  The principle of the invention consists in arranging the discs in rectangular pockets, with dimensions corresponding to those of the discs and in using the available angles to provide therein the retaining members, the signaling members and to provide the necessary clearances for them. a partial extraction of a sleeve allowing the easy removal and reinstallation of the inner disc as well as the automatic signaling of the empty sleeve of its disc *.
 EMI2.3

  Based on the principle explained above, 5¯pr.classification process' consists essentially in resting the sleeves
 EMI2.4
 at the front on an 'axis which crosses them in their lower front angle above, of. their bottom in this .classement 'position, while the upper front angle of one of the walls of the cover is used for the signaling of the discs and for the tilting. of
 EMI2.5

 pockets around the lower axis; this tilting can take place in a small free space above the back pockets if the upper rear angle of the latter is cut down.

   The tilting of the sleeves and the release of the discs during. this tilting can be limited by the stop of a suitable notch of these pockets against a crosspiece provided, in front of the tilting axis in the lower front corner. This crosspiece will be advantageously at a level a little higher than that of the tilting axis so as to retain the discs inside even after tilting the pockets forward.

   The pouches may be of any suitable flexible or semi-rigid material, in particular of paper or cardboard, of artificial plastic or of paper or cardboard plasticized by coating with a film of plastic material: internal plasticizing of the pouches may give any guarantee against risk of scratching the discs by friction against the internal faces of sleeves.

   To make the invention fully understood, an exemplary embodiment thereof will be described below with reference to the appended schematic drawing, in which: FIG. 1 is a transverse vertical section of a portable locker or of a cabinet floor binder intended to receive disk sleeves according to the invention; Figure 2 is a perspective view of the rack without the pockets; and - .. Figure 3 is a perspective view of a cover.

   In the exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing, the por.tatif locker or the filing cabinet floor comprises side walls 1, a rear wall 2, a lower bottom 3 and a top wall 4, these various walls possibly being 'For example in folded sheet with assembly by welding or any other means.

  The bottom 3 on which the vertical pockets must rest

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

      is preferably raised from the base of the rack and limited forward at a certain distance from the retort front as shown in Figure 1. filter the side walls extends an axis 5 which is intended to pass through the pockets in front of the discs in the classification position, a little above the bottom 5 and towards the front thereof, More forward and a little above, there is provided a rod 6 parallel to the axis 5 and which can be formed like it by a round bar while being able to have a different profile.

   It has been indicated at 7-8 the two walls of a pocket closed at its base at 9 and at the rear at 10. This pocket has' towards the front and at its base a notch 11 intended to receive the axis of tilting 5 and this notch may include a shoulder 12 which comes to be placed under the axis 5 when the latter is engaged at the bottom of the notch, which limits the tendency for the pouch to rise during its handling. The notch 11 allows the easy engagement of the pockets on the axis 5, but we could instead provide a hole for the passage of this axis 5.

   Towards the bottom of the front edge of the pocket, the latter comprises a notch 13 intended to cooperate with the rod 6, a tab 14 being provided at the lower front anjle of the pocket below the notch 13 to come to rest. place under rod 6 in the classification position shown in solid lines in the figure, 1.

     The upper rear corner 15 of each pocket is lowered to allow the pockets to tilt forwards around the axis 5 without having to leave excessive play between the top of the pockets and the wall -, A l 'Front, the upper corner of one wall of the pouch is preferably cut down at 16, while the corner 17 of the other wall remains available for signaling the contents of the pouch.

   In classification position, the pockets, each filled

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

   {The one disc 18, are arranged vertically side-to-side and clamped against each other inside the rack in the. position shown in solid lines. In this position, it is easy to leaf through the anjles 17 to read the signaling indications if one wishes to search for a particular disc.

    To extract a chosen disc it suffices to pull the corresponding pocket forward, for example by its upper front anle 17, which causes it to tilt forward around the axis 5 and maintains it in the position shown in phantom line in Figure 1 for which the upper edge of the notch 13 abuts centrela rod 6;

 on axis 5 without however being able to escape: t? ::? er 1JrusÇiue; .wnt towards the front of the cover, because it is. stopped by the rod 6, the level of which is a little above the axis 5. As the pouch that has been tilted is partly out of the collection, it is then easy to separate the two walls 7-8 and grab the inner disc to extract it and use it.

   If care is taken to leave the cover in the tilting position, it lets a protruding triangle appear on the outside which includes the upper front angle and this automatically signals that the cover is empty: it will be easy to put the disc back in. place without hesitation, by pushing the disc back into its sleeve., we ensure the return of the latter, made rigid by the inserted disc 'and the' sleeve '. garnished returns to -classification position by the reverse movement' of the one who has pernized its partial extraction.

   It will be understood that the exemplary embodiment described above and shown in the appended drawing is in no way limiting and that various modifications or additions could be provided without departing from the scope of the invention. 3n in particular, one could provide a resilient damping stop along

 <Desc / Clms Page number 6>

 from the front edge of the top 4, in the event that an engaged disc, positioned a little high, meets the front edge of this top.

    In particular for the classeuent of documents other than disks, the limitation of the tilting of the pockets towards the front can be ensured simply by the stop of the upper rear angle lowered 15 against the top 1.4, the rod 6 and the notch 15 being then deleted.
