Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

   The invention relates to a phonograph in which, in order to cause the drive to be driven at various speeds of the turntable, a friction roller can be moved, in the longitudinal direction of a mating drive shaft, of variable diameter, and can be fixed by a pin and groove device, in a determined position, due to the fact that one of the walls of the groove has stop positions in which the pin is held under the effect of a spring or of such a device.

   According to the invention, the shape of the other wall of the groove is chosen so that a first movement of the spindle relative to the groove, against a spring, automatically results in a second movement of the spindle relative to the groove in the direction of the groove, after which the spindle

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 is maintained by the effect of the spring in a next stop position.

   This arrangement makes it possible to cause the change of speed of the record player by the sole displacement, against a spring, of the spindle or of the groove, the displaced part comprising the friction roller. This form of construction is therefore suitable for a phonograph in which the above-mentioned change of speed is obtained by depressing a push-button. Depressing the push-button, followed by releasing this button, is sufficient to move the friction roller a determined distance along the drive axis and to hold it in the new position. .

   According to another feature of the invention, the second relative movement, resulting from the first, is always carried out in the same direction, which is easily achievable from a construction point of view.

   Preferably, the second relative movement is a rotation and the groove extends along a cylindrical surface, over at least 1800 around the axis of rotation and is open at the ends, while the central part of the spindle passes through the rotation axis. In this way, the depression of the push button allows the various speeds of the record player to be adjusted according to a fixed pattern. When one end of the spindle leaves the groove under the effect of the second relative movement, the same movement causes the other end of the spindle to enter the groove and continuously take over the task of the first.

   The form of construction described makes it possible to provide the spindle or the grooved body, which performs the second relative movement, with a speed indicator disc, which makes it possible to see the speed at which the record player rotates.

   The description of the appended drawing, given by way of example) 3.on limiting, will make it clear how the invention can be implemented, the features which emerge both from the text and from the drawing being, of course, part of the invention.

   Fig. 1 is a plan view of a record player driving device.

   Fig. 2 is a side view of the training device shown in FIG. 1.

   Fig. 3 is a side view of the control device for the speed change of the. drive device shown in fig 1.

   Fig. 4 is a side view of the grooved body.

    @
Fig. 5 is a plan view of the body shown in fig. 4.

   Fig. 6 is a development of the groove in a planar surface, the pin being shown in several positions relative to the groove.

   A record player 1 is driven, using a friction wheel 2, because this wheel is attracted, by a spring
3, against the axis 4 of a motor and against the record player 1. The axis 4 comprises three sections of different diameter, each of which can be combined with the friction wheel 2 by a displacement of the friction wheel in the direction of axis 4. The friction wheel 2 is mounted on an arm 5 which can pivot relative to a caliper 6.

  'A stop 7, provided on the caliper 6, limits the movement of the arm 5 relative to the caliper 6. The caliper 6 can slide and rotate through a limited angle on an axis 8, which itself can rotate relative to the frame 9 of the device and which is supported in the axial direction. A spring 10 pushes the caliper 6 upwards.

   The caliper 6 further comprises a projection 11 which allows the control of 13 caliper 6 with arm 5 and friction wheel 2. For this purpose, the projection 11 is combined with a control cone 13 connected to a push button 12. A spring 14 maintains the push button in its upper position. In the caliper 6 is mounted a grooved body 15 provided with a groove 16 with which is conjugated a pin 17, integral with the axis 8.

   The device operates as follows. The en

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

   push-button 2, applies the cone 13, from its inclined side, against the projection II., so that this projection first turns around the axis 8 until it rests against the flat part of the cone 13. As a result of this rotation, the friction wheel 2 moves away from the record player 1 and from the motor shaft 4, while the arm 5 is pressed against the stop 7.

  When the disc 13 continues its movement, the caliper 6 is pushed down, against the spring 10, so that the pin 17 is pressed against the upper wall of the groove. Since this wall is oblique (see fig. 6), the spindle 17 rotates, with the axis 8, until it rests against the vertical part of the upper wall of the groove. This causes the movement to stop and releases the push button 12. Under the influence of the spring 10, the yoke 6 is lifted, so that the pin 17 rests against the bottom wall of the groove ;, wall which has stop positions 18, 19 and 20. One end of the spindle 17 traverses, in the manner described, when the push-button is pressed three times, the entire groove.

   When one end of spindle 17 leaves groove 16, the other end is inserted therein, so that the push button can be pressed continuously and the various turntable speeds can be adjusted according to a fixed pattern. The push-button 12 is mounted on an axis 21 which carries a control cam 22. The rotation of the button 12 makes it possible to control an arm 23 which is for example combined with the eddy-current brake for the precise adjustment of the pressure. required turntable speed.

   In the exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing, the groove body 15 is moved against the spring, while the spindle 17 performs the second movement. It goes without saying that the first mentioned movement can also be transmitted to the spindle, so that the grooved body performs the second movement.
