Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

   In main patent 510,214 of March 26, 1952 has been described and protected a generally prismatic case or polygonal container of corrugated compact cardboard or other material in which the cover and / or the bottom is provided along from each side edge of a double strip which is folded from the inside out around the corresponding side wall of the body so that each of the edges of the body is surrounded by a U-shaped piece and is fixed by means of clips or similar means between the two parts of this double strip.

   An important characteristic of the containers according to the main patent is that the inner part of the double strip, along two side walls, facing each other and the outer part of this strip along two other side walls facing each other are provided at both ends with an extension, that these extensions are folded back with

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 neighboring parou laterale and are taken -Along this wall between that [-ci and the interior or exterior part of the double band.

   This reinforcement of the edges constitutes a very important advantage; however a difficulty is that the filling of the box must take place by one of the sides, that is to say by the cover or by the bottom so that the goods are difficult to display.

     On the other hand once the merchandise is in the crate, the customer has to sew a complete cover which is a rather uncomfortable job.

   The subject of the present invention is modifications and improvements intended to remedy these drawbacks.

   These improvements consist in that the filling opening is formed in the sheath itself and for this purpose one of the faces of the sheath may be formed of two elements which are folded down, superposed and connected together after filling.,
In order to make the invention fully understood, we will describe it. hereinafter an exemplary embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a finished container provided with the improvement, object of the invention. @
Figure 2 shows the cutouts (lids and sleeves) from which the container is made.

  Figures 3 and 4- are explanatory views showing the stages of assembly and assembly of the elements.

   FIG. 5 shows the container in the state in which it may be found after filling and during the possible display of the goods.

   In the embodiment shown in Figure 1, the packaging object of the invention comprises an envelope or sheath 1 of prismatic shape, the cover and / or the bottom '2 is provided along its edges with tabs intended to be folded from the inside to the outside around the edges of the sheath giving birth to two branches 3-4 folded in U.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

  The cover and / or the bottom cont fixed to the body by staples or other means such as for example. a rope 5 passing through holes drilled all around the cover,., '
An important feature of the invention is that the filling opening is provided in the sheath itself.
For this purpose, one of the faces of the sheath is formed along its length of soft separate elements 6 and 7 (fig. 2) which. Are folded down and superimposed after filling (fig. 1).

   In Figure 2, have been shown the cutouts of the two bottoms and the sheath from which the packaging is made.

   We see in this figute that for the reinforcement of each corner the inner part 3 of the double band carries at its ends a tab 8 while the outer part of the double band on the adjacent side also carries a tab 9 whose length - length is double that of leg 8.

     As can be seen from Figures 3 and 4, the legs or extensions 8-9 are folded over so as to be engaged between the inner part and the outer part of the double strip but also along the upper edge of the sheath.

   The tab 8 comes to be placed along the inner side of this upper edge while the tab 9 extends along a part of the edge on the outside thereof to then be covered by the outer part of the upper edge. border on the adjacent side (fig. 4).

   The figure ? shows the packaging in the position before filling.

   Thanks to the invention, the filling does not have to be done from the sides; that is to say by one of the lids but well by one of the sides.

   As can be seen from figure 5, the goods can be displayed in good conditions and the customer does not have to sew a complete cover but only one of the sides.
