Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 6>

  The present invention relates to an involute hob.

   In order to prevent, in straight cutters with attached cutting teeth, the radial loosening of the cutting teeth embedded in the body of the cutter, it has been proposed to provide the wide side of the teeth and the body of the cutter with facing grooves. and in which are inserted, parallel to the axis of the cutter, pins whose

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 the pressure force, respectively tension, is carried out obliquely with respect to the median radial line of each tooth.

   The present invention aims to provide an involute hob in which the teeth and the body of the cutter are also provided with facet grooves but which differs from the above mentioned burs in that the groove of the teeth is provided on the side. posterior of the latter, that is to say in their pressure zone, this groove forming, with the corresponding groove of the body of the cutter, a channel, arranged obliquely with respect to the axis of the cutter, and in which we push a spring.

   The process is known, which consists, in straight cutters, in providing the cutting teeth and the body of the cutter with grooves and projecting parts arranged obliquely with respect to the axis of the cutter and which fit into each other. in others, like the teeth of a gear. The tension of the cutting teeth, in other words their locking against a possible radial loosening, is obtained, known by giving the teeth and the recesses of the body of the cutter into which they enter, a conical shape in the direction of the axis of the cutter , or by providing wedges with radial taper whose surfaces. rest against the cutting teeth.

   Such tooth securing devices are not suitable for developing hobs. They also require extreme precision, and all parts of the teeth and body of the cutter must be subject. meticulous adjustment in order to obtain a perfect connection.

   The device that characterizes this

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 The invention makes it possible to dispense, in the production of an involute hob, of such precision, given that, on the one hand, it is by no means essential that the grooves of the tooth and of the body of the. 'strawberry, are strictly opposite one another and that, on the other hand, the height of the spring that is inserted is not obli-. to correspond exactly to the width of the grooves.

  The height of the tension spring which is pushed into the channel formed by the grooves can even be, indifferently, less than or greater than the width of the grooves.

   Examples of embodiment of the device according to the invention are shown in the accompanying drawing, in which: 'FIG. 1 is a side view of a cutter body.

  Fig. 2 is a sectional view along A-B of FIG. l.

  Fig. 3 is a side view of a tooth. strawberry whose sides of the lower part form a trapezoid.

  Fig. 4 is a front view corresponding to that of fig 3.

  Figs 5, 6 and 7 are side views of a milling tooth mounted on a milling body and whose parallel sides have various shapes, Figs 8 and 9 show two embodiments of the milling cutter with use, respectively, of a spring of lower height, and of greater height, In the drawing 1 denotes the body of an involute hob comprising recesses 2 and protrusions 3, 5 denoting the lower portions of teeth. c.oupe 5a already mounted or in. mounting instance on a cutter.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

  According to the invention, grooves 4 are made in the front side of the projecting parts 3 of the body 1 of the cutter, looking in the direction of rotation, and these grooves are, according to FIG. 2, arranged obliquely with respect to the axial direction. Likewise, the lower parts 2 of the teeth 5a are provided with corresponding grooves 6, so that when the teeth 5a have been inserted into the body 1 of the milling cutter, a channel is formed. 6 completely closed, inclined with respect to the axis of the cutter, and in which a wedging or locking spring 4a (see fig. 6) is inserted, due to its oblique position, in the manner of a wedge, the tension force P being exerted, as shown in FIG. 6, parallel to the midline M of the cutting tooth.

   The cutting teeth are driven simultaneously, in the axial direction, into the recesses 2 of the body 1 of the cutter. It is preferable that the teeth 5 provided by the invention become fully integral with the body 1 of the cutter as soon as they are inserted therein, the teeth 2 being subjected, when sliding against the locking springs placed obliquely, to a force component in the radial direction which attracts them into the recesses 2 of the body .1 of the cutter.

   The lower part 2 of the teeth 5a can, as shown in f ig. 3, be provided simply in the shape of a trapezoid, that is to say to form a simple cone. However, given that the production of trapezoidal recesses 2 in the body 1 of the cutter and that of the corresponding lower parts 5 of the teeth requires a very precise adjustment and, consequently, incessant measurements of measurements, the invention provides a particular realization of the parts

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

 lower teeth, which allows them to keep parallel sides.

  The problem then consisted in finding the means of subjecting the lower parts 5, on parallel sides, to the teeth 5a, to the force of. complementary force components capable of exerting pressure of the lower parts of the teeth against the anterior flanks of the protruding parts of the body, looking in the direction of rotation, As shown in fig. 5, this result is obtained in accordance with the invention by providing that the base 9 of the lower part of the teeth is disposed obliquely with respect to the bottom 8 of the recess 2 of the body 1 of the cutter, the lower part 2 then taking its support by a rounded part 2 which begins at the lower end of the front flank 5 'of the lower part 5 of the tooth.

   'The radius to be given to this rounded part is chosen such that the resulting component intersects, in direction, the. flank 5 "of the lower part of the tooth above the channel formed by the grooves 4 and 6.

   A reverse arrangement, such as that shown in FIG. 6, makes it possible to achieve the result sought by the invention. In this example, the bottom 8 of the recess 2 is provided slightly obliquely, while the base 9 of the tooth remains rectilinear. The rounded part 2 provided is used; here also, bearing on the lower part 2 of the tooth 5a on the bottom 8 of the recess 2.

   Another embodiment according to the invention is shown in fig 7, in which the bottom 8 of the recess 2 comprises a drop, the rounded part then coming to rest on a step 10 thus formed.

   It is also possible to achieve the same

 <Desc / Clms Page number 6>

 result by providing the difference in level on the basis of the lower part 2 of the tooth, instead of providing it on the slot .8 of the recess 2.

   Figs 8 and 9 clearly demonstrate that it is by no means essential that the grooves 4; and 6 are exactly opposite each other. Likewise, the setting springs 4b and 4c can, indifferently, be of a height less than or greater than the width of the grooves 4 and 6, without however modifying the tension force P.
