Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

     L'invention couvre, en effet, de manière générale, l'emploi combiné dans un treillis pour galeries de mines d'é- léments rigides et souples qui peuvent occuper des positions relatives très diverses, de manière à conférer au treillis une résistance élevée à la traction, tout en lui permettant

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

   The present invention relates to a metal mesh for lining mine galleries.

   It is known to use, to line the walls and the roof of mine galleries, metal trellises which are held in place by metal sections or similar supporting elements established from place to place along the walls and the roof of the galleries. of mines. These trellises replace the woodwork which was used previously and which has the serious drawback of being combustible. These trellises have, among other things, the function of preventing or hindering the fall of stones. Known trellises generally consist of metal wires of small cross section interwoven in various ways and are flexible and deformable both in the longitudinal direction and in the transverse direction. Because of this, the tensile strength of these mesh is not. always satisfactory.

   The present invention relates to a metal mesh for lining mine galleries, which, unlike known mesh, is relatively rigid in one direction and is flexible or deformable in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction mentioned above. Instead, so as to be able to adapt to the profile of the walls and the roof of mine galleries, while exhibiting a tensile strength markedly greater than that of the known trellises mentioned above.

   According to the invention, the trellis is made up of rigid elements intersecting with flexible elements. The rigid elements are advantageously made of metal son liques of sufficient section, for example a section of approx.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 ron 0.2 to 1 cm, while the flexible elements are preferably formed by strips or bands of metal strip, these bands possibly having a width of about 1 to 1.5 cm and a thickness of about 0.5 to 2 mm.

   According to a particular feature of the invention, the rigid metal wires at the strips or strips of strip intertwine so as to form quadrangular meshes, for example in the form of a square, a rectangle, a diamond, etc.

   The rigid metal wires are preferably joined by welding to the strips or strips of strip, so as to form a mesh, in which the metallic wires, which extend parallel to one another and the strips of strip, which also extend parallel to one another, intersect substantially at right angles.

   Other features and details of the invention will become apparent from the description of the drawings appended hereto, which schematically represent, and only by way of example, two embodiments of a trellis according to the invention.

   In these drawings: FIG. 1 is a plan view of part of a trellis according to the invention for lining mine galleries; - Figure 2 is a section along the line II-II of Figure 1, and - Figure 3 is a section corresponding to that of Figure 2 showing a different mutual arrangement of the constituent elements of the lattice according to the invention.

   As shown in the drawings, the mesh according to the invention comprises a series of metal wires 2, preferably hardened metal wires of circular section.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 re, which extend parallel to one another and which are crisscrossed with strips or strips 3 of strip or metal sheet optionally galvanized, also parallel to each other, so as to form a network rectangular meshes, which may for example have dimensions of 10 x 3.5 cm.

   FIG. 2 shows that the blades 3 are welded at 4 to the wires 2 ', so that these strips extend over their entire length on the same side of the wires 2.

   On the other hand, in FIG. 3, the wools 3 are alternatively welded on opposite sides of the yarns 2, that is to say that the blades 3 and the yarns 2 are interwoven.

   The mesh according to the invention has the advantage of having great rigidity in one direction, namely in the direction of the metal wires 2, while, in the direction perpendicular to that of the wires, that is to say in the direction of the wires. direction of the blades 3, the mesh is flexible and can easily be adapted to the shape of the walls and the roof of the mine galleries. Another advantage of the mesh according to the invention lies in its non-combustible nature.

   It is obvious that the invention is not exclusively limited to the embodiments described above and that various modifications can be made in the constitution, the arrangement and the arrangement of certain details involved in its realization. , provided that these modifications do not contradict the object of the following claims.

     The invention covers, in general, the combined use in a trellis for mine galleries of rigid and flexible elements which can occupy very diverse relative positions, so as to give the trellis a high resistance to traction, while allowing it

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 to adapt easily to the profile of the walls and the roof of mine tunnels.

   Instead of being welded to each other, the elements of the mesh according to the invention can be secured to each other in different ways or can even be kept assembled by simple interlacing.
