Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Flashlights are known provided with a built-in network charging device, in which the charging device and the battery are arranged in a part of the box which also carries the socket pins necessary for connection to the battery. network.

In various embodiments of such lamps, the bulb is placed in the part of the housing containing the battery and the plug pins protrude on the side opposite the bulb and may be covered by an additional cap. Other flashlights have retractable plug pins which can be pulled out of the housing by actuating a slider with an inclined plane. Flashlights are also known in which a special part is provided which is carried by the socket pins fixed to the part containing the battery. The part containing the bulb is thus guided and held directly by the socket pins.

This arrangement is very advantageous in that the space between the socket pins is used favorably and the construction height of the whole lamp is reduced to dimensions which allow it to be easily handled; it has, however, been achieved in a relatively unfavorable manner in known lamps of this type. Thus, the part containing the bulb is for example made in this case in two half-shells between which there is a special reflector serving as a screw socket for a special lamp which is very difficult to find on the market. .

In addition, the half-shells assembled by screwing carry a contact blade on which are fixed two contact pins, one of which is connected to the reflector and, therefore, to the base of the bulb by a wire soldered on. this pin and the other via a blade riveted to the end weld of the bulb. There are also two other elastic brackets which are used to fix the part containing the bulb to the plug pins of the part containing the battery. It is therefore necessary to have only for the part containing the bulb a considerable number of parts, which is unfavorable for the whole construction and the price of the flashlight.

The present invention aims to create a flashlight, consisting of a part containing the battery and a part containing the bulb and provided with a built-in device for charging by the network, in which the part containing the bulb can be. placed on the socket pins of the battery part and which presents significant improvements over known lamps.

According to the invention, this result is obtained by the fact that the part containing the bulb carries in a socket-shaped notch a bulb freely engaged from the inside, the height of the cap being calculated so that the bulb is connected directly by its end weld and the screw cap to the battery connection strips.

According to a development of the invention, the result is obtained, by using a conventional commercially available lens bulb, that a particular additional lens is saved in front of the bulb, such as that which is required in standard lamps. porch with normal bulbs. The glass bulb of the used lens bulb has a smaller diameter than the base so that the bulb can be engaged from the inside into the socket-like notch in the middle of the portion of the bulb. bulb. This bulb is thus applied against a narrowing of the notch and protrudes with its glass in an enlarged funnel-shaped cavity of this notch which at the same time forms the existing reflector in particular in the other lamps of poached.

The bulb socket is held in the rear cylindrical part of the notch by means of a flexible rubber or synthetic material pipe surrounding this base. The spring device of the part containing the bulb consists of two angled leaf springs which are wedged at their bending point in the con- part.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

holding the bulb and which engage by their free ends in grooves of the pins of the plug of the battery part.

An embodiment of the object of the invention is shown, by way of nonlimiting example, in the accompanying drawing.

Fig. 1 is a section of the head of the flashlight with the part containing the bulb installed.

Fig. 2 shows how contact is made with the bulb.

Figo 3 is a plan of the interior side of the part containing the bulb.

The socket pins 2 for connection to the network are fixed to part 1 of the housing (fig. 1) of the flashlight, containing the battery and the device for charging by the network. In the operating state of the lamp, these pins are covered by part 3 in a single piece containing the bulb which has the socket-shaped notch 12 in which the lens bulb 4 is placed. The lens bulb differs from an ordinary incandescent lamp in that a lens is melted into its glass. The base 5 of the bulb is surrounded by a flexible rubber or synthetic tube 6 by which the bulb is held in the cylindrical rear part of the notch.

It thus rests against a narrowing 13 of the notch and protrudes through its glass into an opening widening outwards in the form of a funnel. The part containing the bulb is clamped against the socket pins and hence against the part containing the battery by springs 10 which engage in grooves 11 of the pins. The springs 10 (fig. 3) each form an angle and are wedged by their place of bending in the part containing the bulb located between the inner sides of the latter and the wall 14 of the socket which is thicker and affects a particular form in these places. The opposite free ends of the springs are chamfered and form angled bent parts, visible in fig. 1, which engage in the grooves of the socket pins.

By chamfering the springs 10 at their free ends, oblique surfaces are obtained which facilitate the mounting of the part containing the bulb on the socket pins. 15 designates the locations of the pins in the part containing the bulb, in the operational state of the flashlight.

When the part containing the bulb is in place, the base 5 of the incandescent lamp protrudes into the part 1 containing the battery, in which the contact elements 8 and 9 are located (fig. 2).

The contact element 8 thus applies to the end weld 7 of the bulb 4, while the contact element 9 is electrically connected to the base of the bulb. This arrangement is particularly advantageous because it is not necessary to use sockets, solder contacts, contact broaches and the like, which results in a great saving in space.

Various modifications can moreover be made to the embodiment, shown and described in detail, without departing from the scope of the invention.
