<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The present invention relates to a broom for cleaning and moping various surfaces, for example boat decks, tiled floors, mosaic floors, etc.
According to the invention, the broom is constituted by a wick fixed on a support mounted to pivot on a sleeve comprising, along one of its generatrices, a stamped ending in front of a hole in which penetrates a finger integral with a blade elastic placed in a second sleeve fixed to the lower part of the handle of the broom, this finger locking lo second sleeve, in the first in order to connect the handle to the broom.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
According to other characteristics of the invention, the second sleeve, integral with the handle, has a diameter smaller than the first sleeve.
The wick constituting the brush is held in its middle by clamping between a cup and the fingers integral with this cup.
The fingers integral with the ooupelle are diametrically opposed.
Various other characteristics of the invention moreover emerge from the detailed description which follows.
An embodiment of the object of the invention is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing.
The single figure is an elevation, partly in section, of the broom.
The broom consists of a wick 1 made of threads of various materials, clamped between a cup 2 and diametrically opposed fingers 3 and secured to the edge of the cup 2.
The latter carries, on its upper face, two wings 4, diametrically opposed, on which is fixed an axis 5. A sleeve 6, which is mounted free around the axis 5, has at its lower part a finger 7 forming a stop and a clearance 8 diametrically opposed to the finger 7. The upper part 6a of the sleeve 6 is pierced with a hole 8. A stamping 9 is provided along the generator on which the hole 8 is drilled, this stamping ending before this hole. The handle 10 of the broom is fixed, by means of a point 11, on a sleeve 12 of diameter less than the diameter of the sleeve 6. A finger 13, fixed on an elastic blade 14 placed inside the sleeve. 12, passes through a hole 15 drilled in a sleeve. 12.
Wings 16 extending laterally the upper part of the sleeve 12 are pierced with holes 17 through which
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
passes a bolt 18 tightening the sleeve 12 on the end of the handle 10. When it is desired to fix the brush consisting of the wick.1 and the. cup 2 at the lower end of the handle 10, the sleeve 12 is introduced into the sleeve 6 by placing the finger 13 opposite the stamped 9 then, as this finger is mounted on the elastic blade 14, it is erased and the manohon 12 can easily be made to penetrate into the sleeve 6 until the finger 13 passes through the hole 8 of the sleeve 6.
The handle 10 is then locked on the wanchon 6 carrying the wick 1,
The broom, which is especially intended for washing various surfaces, is soaked in water with the addition of detergents or the like, passed over the surfaces to be cleaned and then rinsed in water.
To mop up the. the floor or the washed surface, the broom is wrung out after removing the handle by pressing the finger 13 t while twisting the wick grasped with the hands at both ends.
The handle is then put back in place by presenting the finger 13 in the stamping 9 and pushing in order to bring the finger 13 into the hole 8.
The device is thus ready for a new service.
When the wick 1 is worn, it can easily be. change after unfolding the fingers 3.
Various modifications can moreover be made to the exemplary embodiment, shown and described in detail without departing from the scope of the invention.
