<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The present invention relates to an apparatus for measuring pressure differences between two gaseous media comprising a housing divided into two chambers, communicating respectively with these gaseous media and separated from one another by a light and mobile paddle. , apparatus characterized in that one of the chambers is connected to a second integral with the housing, but movable, by articulation for example, with respect to this housing, which allows it to be folded into a housing formed in said housing and thus constitutes an assembly of reduced dimensions, for storage and transport.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the probe is mounted on the casing by means of a part with a cylindrical bearing provided with a transverse clearance in which the probe engages, clearance cooperating with a blind hole. longitudinal opening into one of the chambers of the housing.
According to another embodiment of the invention, the apparatus comprises a means such as a needle screw cooperating with the part having a cylindrical bearing so as to limit the passage section of the gaseous fluid introduced by the probe, thus allowing the initial setting of the device at the end of manufacture.
The invention also extends to the characteristics described below.

and in their various combinations, possible
An apparatus according to the invention is shown by way of nonlimiting example, in the accompanying figures in which - Figure 1 is a perspective view of the open housing; - Figure 2 is a section along F of the closed housing; - Figure 3 is a perspective view of the device in the operating position, the axis A-B marking the position of the pallet at rest; FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the part with cylindrical bearing surface serving as a support for the probe; FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the device for suspending the pallet needle; - Figure 6 is a perspective view of the pallet needle.
The apparatus shown in the accompanying figures consists of a housing with an outer contour in the form of a right-angled triangle with rounded tops.
This housing is made in two superimposed parts 60 and 61.
The assembly thus formed comprises a cavity hollowed out half on one and half on the other of the coincident faces of the two parts 60 and 61 of the housing.
The cavity is divided into two chambers 62 and 63 by a movable pallet 64; it has a useful planar section in the form of a triangle, one of the sides of which is curvilinear, the others being rectilinear.
One of the rectilinear sides of the cavity has two bosses 651 and 652 symmetrical with respect to the junction plane of the two parts of the housing and each having a height equal to the depth of the half-cavity in which it is located, which allows, the housing being closed, the two bosses to touch.
In front of each of the bosses 651 and 652 and on the other rectilinear side of the cavity is another boss respectively 661 and 6620
The two bosses 661 and 662 are symmetrical with respect to the junction plane of the two parts of the housing. Each has a height less than the depth of the half-cavity in which it is located so that, with the housing closed, there is a space between the two bosses 661 and 662 in question.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The movable pallet 64 is mounted on a support 67 constituted by.une! metal foil folded back to. right angle and from which the sides thus formed come; bear on the faces on the one hand 6511 and 6521 and, on the other hand, 6611 and 6621, bosses 651, 652, 661, 662. Half-spherical "drops" 68 ensure the maintenance of the support 67, the latter being inserted between said drops and the bosses. The pallet 64 is cut out so as to present two tenons 641 which cooperate with the support 67. For this purpose, the latter has on one of its faces a cutout 671 in which the solid part 642 of the pallet situated is engaged. between the two tenons 641 until it comes into the angle of the support:
The pallet 64 can, in this way, oscillate around the apex of this angle.
Laterally, on the lower part 61 of the casing, a housing 691 receives a part with a cylindrical seat (FIG. 4).
This part comprises a cylindrical part 71 surmounted by a second coaxial cylindrical part 70 of smaller diameter constituting the cylindrical bearing surface mentioned above.
Part 71 is intended to come to be placed in housing 691 of the housing, the cylindrical bearing surface 70 then engaging in a bore 72 made in part 61 of the housing. This bearing journals in the bore 72 in question.
The part with a cylindrical seat (FIG. 4) is pierced with an axial blind hole 73 communicating with a transverse clearance 74. In this last clearance 74 fits the end of a hollow tube 75, which constitutes a probe of - tined to the pressure tap in the enclosure 80 to be checked.
The upper part 60 of the housing comprises a second cavity 75 communicating with the chamber 62 of the first cavity, via an opening 77, and separated from it by the partitions 76 and 78. The lower part 61 of the housing, sy - metrically to this cavity 75, is full.
Such an arrangement ensures communication between the enclosure 80 in which it is desired to measure the pressure and the chamber 62 (this communication taking place through the probe 75, the transverse clearance 74, the blind hole 73, the chamber 75 and the opening 77).
The second chamber 63 of the housing is placed in communication with the atmosphere, by virtue of an orifice 79 pierced at the top of the housing, communication taking place through the space formed between the two bosses 661 and 662 through the cutout 671. pallet support 67.
Thus, one side of the pallet is subjected to atmospheric pressure (that located on the side of chamber 63) and the other side (that located on the side of chamber 62) is subjected to the pressure of the enclosure. 80 to explore.
The vane moves (with respect to the balance correction at rest) in proportion to the difference between the two pressures; transparent and sealed windows 81 and 82 made on the case (provided with suitable graduations and which consequently constitute dials) make it possible to evaluate this pressure difference, which is the desired aim.
Housing 691 of the housing is extended by a housing 692 lateral to the housing.
Thus, it is possible, by simple rotation of the part with a cylindrical seat (FIG. 4), to bring the probe 75 into the housing 69. The device then has a small footprint and is easily transportable.
On the upper part 60 of the casing and in front of the part with a cylindrical bearing (FIG. 4), a threaded hole 83 (drilled in part in the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the very bottom of this part of the housing, partly in a boss 84) into which a needle screw 85 engages, the point of which is therefore located in the axis of the blind hole 75.
Thus, when the needle screw 85 is screwed in more or less, the cross section of the passage of the gaseous fluid introduced by the probe is varied, which thus makes it possible to adjust the apparatus. The apparatus is calibrated after manufacture, then the upper orifice of the threaded hole 15 is closed, so as to trap the needle screw 85; this adjustment is therefore carried out once and for all.
A coil spring 86 surrounds the probe 75 and is made integral with its end 861 which hooks into an orifice 751 made at the base of the probe, the other end being free. Such a spring fulfills two functions: - it provides thermal insulation of the probe (which is in fact heated when the gaseous fluid of the chamber to be controlled is hot); it limits the penetration of the probe into the enclosure to be controlled.
It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiments precisely described and represented and from which other variants can be provided without thereby departing from the scope of the invention.
