 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  "Rat poison bait devices",
The present invention relates to rat poison bait devices.

   Rat poison baits generally come in the form of rat poison products deposited on a support (crust of bread for example), capable of attracting animals (rats or others) intended to be destroyed.

   This way of using rat poison products has the drawback that it is necessary in each case to handle the products in question; on the other hand, baits made in this way can hardly be used in a humid or liquid environment.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   The principle of the invention lies in the fact of using as support for rat poison bait paper or corrugated cardboard prepared in advance and which can be stored; these supports receive an application of a water-repellent fatty substance making them impermeable to water and to air, a known rat poison product being placed in the corrugations of the support.

   The rat poison used can be chosen from: 1 known products such as coumafen, an anti-coagulant of the blood which is harmless to humans and domestic animals.

   The fatty substance used to make the support water-repellent can advantageously consist of a hot mixture of an animal fatty substance and an inorganic fatty substance, the latter having the aim of raising the melting point of the compound.

   The device in question makes it possible to fight against rodents, in all places and in particular in humid places (cellars, sewers, banks) and even in open water (ponds, rivers, etc.).

   The bait is not only of a curative use against land and amphibious rodents, but also of a preventive use being denoted its inalterability, which makes it possible to carry out prevention in matters of rat extermination, a point of particular interest in what relates more specifically to rodents in the fields; its use is also indicated against the muskrat whose entrance to the burrow is under the sufface of water.

   To clarify the nature of the invention, embodiments thereof have been described below, by way of examples only, with reference to the accompanying drawings, which represent the subject of the invention in perspective. fig. 1 represents the bait in the form of a strip of

 any slowness intended to be cut into pieces as needed.

   Fig. 2 shows a bait floating on a liquid surface.

   In these figures, the corrugated cardboard support coated with a fatty substance and fixed to a sheet of paper or cardboard 2 is designated by 1, by 3 the rat poison product placed in the grooves of the paper or cardboard.

   Of course, without departing from the limits of the invention, it is possible to make any modifications to it which do not alter the spirit thereof and to use any suitable materials in its production.

   The paper or cardboard could be replaced by any substance having the desired properties, plastic bodies for example.

   The baits can be produced under a firm strip or sheet intended to be kept to be cut when the time comes or, on the contrary, be presented in the form in which they will be used.
