 <Desc/Clms Page number 7>

 EMI7.1

It is also possible to obtain the reactive dyes in accordance with the invention according to a variant of the process, according to which the sequence of operations is modified, that is to say, for example, acylation is carried out before the triazolization and that 'this last chemical operation is therefore carried out last, where appropriate simultaneously with a possible metallization, or else with

The separation of the dyes thus produced is preferably carried out at temperatures as low as possible by precipitation with a salt and the subsequent filtration.

The novel dyes of the invention are suitable for dyeing and printing the most diverse materials and in particular fibrous structure materials containing cellulose, such as flax, regenerated cellulose and above all cotton. They are particularly suitable for dyeing by the direct dyeing process in a relatively dilute bath and by the "Pad" dyeing process, in which the material is impregnated with aqueous and possibly also saline dye solutions and the dyestuffs are fixed, after a possible treatment with materials

In order to improve the fastnesses to wet treatments, it is recommended to subject the dyes and prints thus obtained to a careful rinsing with cold and hot water, possibly adding a dispersing agent ensuring the diffusion of the unfixed parts of the dye.
