<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

"Fusible voltage transformer"
The present invention relates to a voltage transformer comprising fuses and which can in particular be used as a measurement transformer or for small powers. For example, this transformer can be designed for a primary voltage between 1 and 40 KV and for a secondary voltage between 100 and 380 v.
Such a transformer can be used to take measurements on a medium voltage line by connecting the secondary to the input of a voltmeter.
It is already known to equip transformers of this type with fuses intended to avoid
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
damage to the primary circuit in the event of a short circuit in the secondary, this incident may even in certain cases cause the transformer to explode, which represents a serious danger.
In the known embodiments, the fuses are mounted in the manner of horns on an insulating casing containing the windings of the transformer.
However, this results in bulky, asymmetrical, fragile devices which cannot be mounted in all positions. Difficulties are therefore encountered in the handling and assembly of such devices. In addition, in the event of a short-circuit, as the explosion of the fuses themselves is not entirely excluded, their bursting may injure the user.
The invention relates to a specific mode of association of the fuses with the transformer which makes it possible to avoid these drawbacks.
According to the invention, the fuse transformer, in particular of the medium voltage primary and low voltage secondary type, for measurements and low power, is mainly characterized in that the fuses are mounted in housings whose walls are integral with the housing surrounding the transformer windings.
Preferably, the walls of the housings provided for the fuses are produced by molding a synthetic material which also serves to coat the windings of the transformer.
According to an advantageous arrangement of the invention,
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the axes of the fuses are substantially parallel to the axis of the windings, which makes it possible, in combination with the preceding arrangements, to obtain a compact transformer, of small size and offering great safety.
Other features of the invention will further emerge from the description below.
In the accompanying drawings, given by way of nonlimiting examples,
Fig, 1 is a side elevational view with half section along 1-1 of fig. 2 of a first embodiment of the invention,
FIG. 2 is an end view with half-section taken along 11-11 of FIG. 1 or the same realization.
The freeze is the corresponding top view.
Fig, 4 is a partial top view, similar to Fig, 3, of a variant,
In the embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 3, the transformer, which is for example provided for a primary voltage of 12 to 36 kV, includes a laminated magnetic core 1 of rectangular outline, one of the oulasses 2 of which rests on a base 3 and the other yoke 4 of which carries the windings.
These comprise, from the cylinder head 4 towards the outside, a low voltage secondary winding arranged around this cylinder head and separated from the high voltage primary winding 6 by an insulating cylinder 7.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
In accordance with the present invention, the preceding windings are housed in a casing 10. synthetic resin (polystyrene for example) which also coats the rest of the magnetic core 1 and in particular the yoke 2. This coating material also constitutes two elongated bulges 8 arranged symmetrically with respect to the mediator plane AA of the transformer. mateur. In the bulges 8 Mount formed by cylindrical housings 9, oriented head to tail and whose axes are parallel to the axis 0-0 of the windings 5 and 6. The housings 9 are each intended to receive a fuse 11 belonging to the circuit. primary. Each fuse 11 of a type known in itself comprises an outer insulating casing which fits into the corresponding housing 9.
The connection of each fuse 11 is made by means of a plug 12 projecting relative to the bottom 13 of the housing 9 and which is connected to one of the taps of the primary winding 6 by a flooded conductor 14 ( fig, 1). The fuse carries a socket 15 intended to cover the plug 12 and it is provided on the opposite side with an insulating guard plate 16 which is fixed to the front wall of the bulge 8 by screws 17 and which is provided with a threaded terminal 18 serving for the connection of the fuse with the medium voltage line, This arrangement allows a removable fixing of the fuse 11 in the housing 9.
As seen in fig. 2 the bulges 8, the fuses 11 and their housings 9 admit planes of symmetry o'P, O'Q which thus form a
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
PO'Q dihedral whose edge is parallel to the 0-0 axis of the windings. The fuses 11 are thus separated by a large free space which is favorable to insulation and reduces the electrodynamic effects in the event of a short circuit. In addition, the outputs (terminals 18) are opposite which facilitates the connection of the line wires and also increases the insulation.
The transformer equipment further comprises low voltage connection conductors 21 going from the secondary winding 3 to side taps 22 also remote from the taps 18.
It can be seen that the transformer thus arranged has a height, a reduced fragility and a homogeneous structure facilitating handling and connections. The manufacture is easy and inexpensive. Optimal isolation conditions are achieved. In the event of a short-circuit, the walls of the housings 9, which are not in contact with those of the fuses 11 and whose thickness can be adjusted at will, provide additional protection in the event of a burst of the fuses. Finally, the replacement of fuses can be done quickly and easily. In addition, experience shows that due to the horizontal position of the fuses, there can be no

have none. aocumulation..di pcu8a3.rlaïvantéllaiaeab :. conductors) in the corresponding housings, which is another advantage of the invention.
It is obvious that the invention is not limited to the embodiment described to which variant embodiments can be added. Thus in the case of FIG. 4, the connection sockets 18a, 18b of the fuses 11a,
11b are arranged along the same side face.
We could still modify the angle of the
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
dihedral PO'Q and even make it equal to 180, the die transfer thus having a T-structure, Similarly the yoke q could be placed with the base 3 between the two reflections 8, if the necessary isolation conditions are met .
